Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me Sincerely, [redacted] ***

Dear Revdex.com.We have been in contact with Mr [redacted] regarding the alleged damage to the vehicle Part of the confusion here was that the driver of the vehicle was not [redacted] , but his son We have shown Mr [redacted] pictures of the vehicle before it was towed that show the damage was done prior to our towing of the vehicle He seems content that we did not do the damage and we believe he will be discussing the matter with his kid.We denied the claim and have had no further contact from Mr [redacted]

We clearly did not present any reasonable options for [redacted] *** While the people he spoke with were following in house instructions, we clearly could have come up with some reasonable alternatives. We require the notary so that we are certain we are not giving someone's vehicle to someone who has no legal right for redemption.I will be contacting Mr [redacted] to coordinate a refund of the storage charges and an apology

Ms***,Well, we have come a long way on this matter I find it interesting that you would still want compensation for the work performed, but I did tell you to make an offer for resolution.Noting that I still have the same cost base on this transaction, and that we did nothing wrong, I believe that a refund in the amount of $would be fair for both of us.If you agree, please let us know and we will process a refund check to you

Dear Mr [redacted] .Thank you for your inquiry into this matter. As you stated in your compliant, you read the Parking Sign posted by the City of Seattle that stated NO PARKING 0600-0900.With this official sign, I don’t have any idea why you would have believed hotel employees or bystanders on the street Clearly this was not a good decision.Lincoln Towing is contracted with the City of Seattle to perform impound services and to tow vehicles that are illegally parked to improve traffic flow Your vehicle was legally ticketed and we are bound by that contract to remove your vehicle from blocking. If, in fact, you have spent time in the towing industry, this should come as no surprise to you.Further, the driver does not make $per hour so it sounds like you are embellishing to gain sympathy for your cause (he makes significantly more)We will not be refunding any money to you for your inability to follow what you have acknowledged as the instructions on the City of Seattle Parking Sign.I hope that you enjoyed the rest of your vacation to our fair city.Sincerely

Accidents are always full of stress and often even the simplest things get confusing. This is a case of a relatively new driver not fully understanding the policy and in his zeal to ease the stress of the situation misstated the process. There was no intent to mislead the complainantOur operator should not have offered any recommendation, rather he should have provided the options available. Our operators are hourly employees that have no incentive to bring the vehicle to our storage yard instead of a repair shop, or any place requested by the consumerBecause our operator failed to provide accurate information at the scene, it is only right that we stop the collection activity and cancel any lien deficiency that is owing after the public auction of the vehicle.Effective today, we have terminated all further collection activity. Our sincere apology for these circumstances that made the situation worse

Miss ***, A few things comments about your experience with Lincoln TowingThe rate that you are referring to is a impound rate that applies when a vehicle is impounded for parking illegally or for over hours on a City street, etc This rate does not apply to accidents That rate is $per hour and is filed with the Washington State Department of Licensing as is required by lawThe invoicing that would apply is from when the vehicle is in route to your location until the vehicle is dropped and the paperwork is completedThe driver was assigned at 1343, arrived at and completed the call at The law allows billing in minute increments so the time charged on this call should have been hours at $per hour or $plus taxAs for the driver not being able to speak English, that is not correct I will admit that he has a heavy accent but that is indicative of our diverse population in SeattleI am unable to address the “hang up” issue as you did not provide any names or time you may have called If you called on the 29th, a Friday, in the afternoon, there could have been a least a dozen different people you might have spoken withAs for the review, we are a towing company that impounds over 2,vehicles a month It is no wonder that there are people who do not like us But, we treat each one of them with respect no matter how much verbal abuse they share with our staffSo, in closing, I am happy that you were not injured in the accident I hope you enjoy your stay in Seattle and if we can be of any assistance to you in the future, please do not hesitate to contact usSincerely, Mike B [redacted]

I am please with the response and refund can be mailedto my address Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me Sincerely, [redacted] ***

This claim for damage has been denied as the damage to the vehicle was done prior to towingAs is our policy, we take pictures prior to the vehicle being towed
Ms*** alleges that we picked up the car, did the damage, put the car down and then took the picture
There is no way for her
to prove it, nor is there a way for me to prove otherwise
I will say that we tow thousands of vehicles and the policy of the picture taking was put in place to keep from paying bogus claims
Far too often the tow company pays for damage done to front ends due to the driver running them into concrete blocks in parking spots
Lincoln Towing has been in business over years and we have survived by providing damage free towingThat said, if we do damage to a customers vehicle, we are the first to admit it and pay for the repairs
Also note that we have also answered all questions regarding this matter to Inspector Beck with Regulatory Compliance for the City of Seattle who was also contacted by Ms***
In closing, the claim remains denied due to the pre-tow pictures taken
Regards
Mike B***

following is our latest communication with Mr***.***, First, my apologies for the ridiculous delay in getting this claim resolved. It is our standard practice to advise customers whose vehicle have been burglarized in our lot that they need to file a report with the Seattle Police
Department. Because a crime was committed that caused the damageI interviewed the release clerk that processed your claim and I was assured that you were notified to file a report with SPD. Clearly there was a miscommunication regarding the processing of property crimes in our lot. It was always my understanding that this had been reported to SPD. At this point, some four months in, I believe there should be some means of settling the claim that solves your problemThis should never have been a towing damage claimI am sorry that you were not given accurate information. Can you give me an idea of your incurred expenses? Again, my sincere apology. Lincoln Towing towed your vehicle at the direction of the Seattle Police Department. The vehicle was towed for being abandoned. (it had not been moved for over hours)
To address your issues: (in your order)
1. You should pay the towing invoice. We
should be paid for the service we provided
2. We would accept your title to assist YOU in disposing of the vehicle if you no longer wanted it
3. There are laws governing your abandoning the vehicle. See RCW
4. If you wanted your vehicle, yes, you should pay for it
So, in closing, we are not thieves
You redeemed the vehicle on December 30th, several days after talking to us. If you would have come in sooner you could have saved yourself over half of the storage charges
We are confident that you have insurance to be able to operate your vehicle on the roads of our fine City, possibly you should contact them for possible compensation
We will not be refunding our fees.
Best Regards!

We clearly did not present any reasonable options for [redacted].  While the people he spoke with were following in house instructions, we clearly could have come up with some reasonable alternatives. We require the notary so that we are certain we are not giving someone's vehicle to someone who...

has no legal right for redemption.I will be contacting Mr. [redacted] to coordinate a refund of the storage charges and an apology.

Miss [redacted], A few things comments about your experience with Lincoln Towing. The rate that you are referring to is a impound rate that applies when a vehicle is impounded for parking illegally or for over 72 hours on a City street, etc.  This rate does not apply to accidents.  That rate is...

$275 per hour and is filed with the Washington State Department of Licensing as is required by law. The normal invoicing that would apply is from when the vehicle is in route to your location until the vehicle is dropped and the paperwork is completed. The driver was assigned at 1343, arrived at 1404 and completed the call at 1512.  The law allows billing in 15 minute increments so the time charged on this call should have been 1.5 hours at $275.00 per hour or $412.50 plus tax. As for the driver not being able to speak English, that is not correct.  I will admit that he has a heavy accent but that is indicative of our diverse population in Seattle. I am unable to address the “hang up” issue as you did not provide any names or time you may have called.  If you called on the 29th, a Friday, in the afternoon, there could have been a least a dozen different people you might have spoken with. As for the review, we are a towing company that impounds over 2,000 vehicles a month.  It is no wonder that there are people who do not like us.  But, we treat each one of them with respect no matter how much verbal abuse they share with our staff. So, in closing, I am happy that you were not injured in the accident.  I hope you enjoy your stay in Seattle and if we can be of any assistance to you in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us. Sincerely, Mike B[redacted]

I  am please with the response and refund can be mailedto my address.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  Attached is the guideline for towing fees in Seattle.  I chose towing to my body shop rather than having the car towed to the tower's lot.  I made that storage to avoid the storage fee plus another towing charge back to the garage.  Maximum fee should have been no more than $183.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

You think my life will change If you refund my money? Come on I would hope (not much) you are better than that. Sympathy? Did you have to hire a counselor to add incredible word usage? Your own driver told me he only makes 15 dollas an hour, so your own employee is lying on your behalf, could be worse though. But it's ok you will be faced with the same encounter one day (with all those great, sorry I mean such incredible reviews you wish you had) and jus like some trash I as others will walk by and let it burn. Why not? Why fix something if it's good the way it is? Sort of like your employees complaning about their pay behind your back. By the way your reply was worth more than the refund amount you have to scramble around for to pay your employees I mean 15 dollars an hour that's alot. No but seriously thank you as a reply consistent with lies just like your own employee was something that was needed. Be on the look out for the trash though, they get paid more than you pay your own employees.
