Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
As stated before we did not had a rat infestation problem at our home for the last yrs, despite the fact we always had a vegetable gardenWe only started to have an issue when the neighbor next door had piled up her garbage which brought in the rats (the landlord since had cleaned the property). We hired LIND counting on their claimed expertise and experience in pest control. When the technician came we had repeatedly stated our outcome goal of the eradication of the rats to which he agreed to, and as what is clearly stated on the contract ”treatment process involves the eradication of the rodents from the dwelling”Eradication of rodents had never occurred during nor immediately after the treatment process (we saw rodents active throughout the process) in violation of the contract. During the 3-weeks of the treatment process only two rodents were captured, which is clearly not eradication by any “reasonable” standard. We are not interested in paying another $300.00-$for a maintenance service when they failed to perform the eradication service promises they made both verbally and in the written contract

The following is a statement from a licensed and certified technician regarding pest control services rendered at the address of [redacted]  [redacted]  [redacted]
Below is what I know as a report of events with dates, times, and conversations.

On 8/29/16 I (David A[redacted])...

arrived at 0950 to [redacted]. I met with Mr. [redacted] and Mrs. [redacted]. They informed me that they were having rodent problems in their back yard which contains a very large vegetable garden.

Upon further conversation with Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] I learned that their next door neighbor had recently moved out and the owner of the house found a very large collection of trash in a shed in the back yard. I explained to Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] that this is a huge Conducive condition for rodents and the removal of all that trash would leave those rodents looking for a new source of food. I explained to them that I would be conducting an inspection of their home to identify any openings that could lead these Rodents inside. Because of their sizeable vegetable garden I also explained to them that they will never be completely rid of these rodents and a preventative plan would be needed to be set in place after their initial service was over. They told me they understood they would never be completely rid of Rodents.

I also explained to them that their best plan of action would be a rodent bait station which we do provide at an additional installation fee and offered it at $40 which is less than what we normally charge at $45. They told me they wanted to see how this service went first and opted to wait and let our snap traps do their job. I did an inspection of the home and only found one issue which was the vegetation growing against their wall which is conducive to the rodents having a safe route along the wall for travel. This condition was observed, reported and placed onto a graph for the customers to know and fix. The condition was never taken care of.

Upon the follow ups we caught two rats but the customer was never home so we left a door hanger with our findings. I have spoken to the customer on 9/27/16 at 0830 and talked to them about preventative maintenance but they were very upset that all the rodents were not gone from the beginning and that we didn’t set a bait station. I spoke to both Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] at length that every issue they had with our service was discussed and explained in thorough and they agreed that we had that conversation but were still upset that we didn’t rid them of all rodents. On 9/27/16 at 1108 I tried calling Mr. [redacted] again and offering him a deal in which we wo[redacted] service his house at $60 a visit 6 months out of the year and install a bait station free of charge. Sense my last attempt to reach Mr. [redacted] myself and all of our office staff have not received any contact back.

Thank you
David

To whom it may concern,

In summary, pest service results vary, particularly when it involves rodents and the outside environment.  A basic treatment program is put into place followed by a recommended maintenance plan to help “control” populations.  Total eradication from outside environments is nearly impossible to achieve and at no point is suggested nor promised, by LIND PEST CONTROL INC.,  whether written or verbal.  The money the client spent went towards services that included inspecting the house and surroundings, assessment and implementation of a treatment plan, installation of equipment that was  determined and agreed upon, followed by weekly services (3) to re-assess the situation, remove any catches, re-bait and reset equipment.  Four services were performed in total by a highly trained, licensed, and certified pest control technician.  This is what the customer paid for, and this is what the customer received.

We were successful in eliminating two rats from the area of their back deck, but cannot be responsible (in any reasonable form) for future rat sightings around any home or dwelling.   The customer was told this repeatedly and they understood at the time.  It was only when it came time to remove our equipment, at the end of their service contract, when we offered a maintenance program, which involved more money that they complained.  We tried to be fair and offer the set up of additional equipment (that is a cost to the company) at no cost to them if they were to continue on a bi-monthly maintenance plan.  The conditions of the rental property, next door, and the natural habitat of the wooded/densely brushy area behind their house were conveyed to them as contributing factors of the rat activity they were seeing and would continue to see as nature took its course.

I see no reasonable complaint by Mr. and Mrs. [redacted].  LIND PEST CONTROL INC. has serviced TENS OF THOUSANDS of customers with rodent issues.  We do everything we can to convey our knowledge to our customers and solve their pest problems. We are empathetic about Mr. and Mrs. [redacted]’s situation, but feel very strongly that we informed them every step of the way and did our job to the fullest that we could possibly do.  We have offered them a discount on a maintenance plan, as a sign of fair business and trade, but they have refused and actually took it to the point of formally issuing a complaint. In addition, they have verbally attacked the technician and have placed numerous harassing phone calls to our office (phone calls were placed after the date of the technicians above comments). In lieu of the facts, LIND PEST CONTROL, INC., respectfully requests that the Revdex.com dismiss this unwarranted and unfair complaint.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:Sincerely,[redacted] Did they read complaint? You're tech promised this specially built trap for outdoors. It was to be delivered before the next visit. I was told it was not being delivered because they had one person to make trap who was on vacation. I think if something is to be built to help situation that seems like contract is not fulfilled. Besides I was told nothing about extra charge for outdoor trap. From what their proposal was I wouldn't have stayed with them because I was pretty sure nothing was in house but maybe walls or ceiling. The second part of complaint was the most likely place for rodents to enter house wasn't even discovered by any of the techs.

To whom it may concern,

The rodent treatment plan at the complainant’s home, at [redacted], consisted of an initial inspection to determine the “possible” rodent entry points into the house.  These entry points were diagramed and a copy was given to Mr....

[redacted].  The initial treatment also consisted of setting spring traps in locations of the home to monitor activity and catch and remove rodents from within the structure.  This program also included 3 follow up services.  All of these services were completed by a licensed and certified pest control technician.

Mr. [redacted] spoke about setting traps outside to catch the rodents that were coming into the house.   However, setting spring traps outdoors is  a violation punishable by fines and/or loss of license, as these traps are likely to harm, maim, or kill non targets such as birds, cats, dogs, children etc.  It was discussed that maybe we could devise and “build” a housing that would prevent anything but the target pest (rats) from being affected.  This housing was built (at the expense of materials and time to build  to the company-the client was not charged an extra fee) and installed at the customer’s house where it remained for 1 week’s time.  In addition we set traps in his outdoor hot tub panel to further appease the client at no additional cost.

The actual house structure was the target under our treatment parameters.  We went over and beyond to try to “help” slow down some of the outside activity even though this was not a part of the treatment parameters.  The only other thing that could have possibly been done is to set rat poison (bait stations) out to “control” outside populations.   This treatment option is not completed when there are entry points that exist into the home (which is in this case).  Affected rats will often come in and die in areas that are inaccessible to retrieve (which is another of Mr. [redacted]’s complaints about the possible need to spend extra money to open a wall-this condition occurred before LIND PEST CONTROL INC. entered the scene).

The results of the follow up services showed that there was no rodent activity within the structure.  LIND PEST CONTROL INC. went over and beyond “normal” treatment standards to satisfy the client. All services were rendered. Protecting an open environment such as a yard and vegetable garden etc. (which is impossible) was never part of the original service (which seems to be the basis of Mr. [redacted]’s complaint 4 months after the last service was completed).

LIND PEST CONTROL INC.  respectfully requests that the Revdex.com dismiss this complaint as services were rendered (over and above) as promised within the service agreement.
