Regarding the response submitted by Lindee Construction: Firstly, I would like to respond to his use of Hennepin county as a defense. Dave states that the work was ordered and funded by Hennepin county, implying that the client, or homeowner, has no legal standing if the work is not performed as promised. On the contrary, the homeowner, myself, is the client, not Hennepin county. As it was explained to me by DHS, the funding was awarded me to have the work done. Lindee construction was contracted by Hennepin county to complete the work. Dave is aware that Hennepin county does not oversee the work therefore he is able to leave jobs like mine incomplete. The person that I spoke with at DHS advised me to submit a criminal complaint to the Minnesota Attorney General alleging fraud and misuse of funding on the part of Dave and Lindee construction Lindee construction was contracted to make my bathroom accessible to me by wheelchair. That included replacing the inch door with a inch outswing door to accommodate a wheelchair. That was not done. The original door is still attached. They were also supposed to make the bathtub safe with grab bars to steady myself getting in and out of the tub. There are no grab bars. In fact, I have slipped both times getting in and out of the tub so I don’t use it. The bathtub that Lindee installed originally was the least expensive tub on the market. It was incorrectly installed according to the manufacturer. The tub was simply set on a concrete floor with no bed of mortar to stabilize it. The manufacturer states that a bed of mortar is required to keep the plastic tub from cracking. My partner and his friend, a contractor, ripped out the cheap tub that Lindee installed. My partner purchased a much better tub and he and his friend installed it correctly. After Lindee tiled the bathroom floor, my partner noticed that three of the tiles were crooked and one was chipped. After Lindee’s tiler left for the day, my partner removed the defective tiles and replaced them. The story goes on and on. When Lindee left my home for the last time, there was a hole in the wall in the adjacent laundry room that Lindee had made to access the plumbing in the bathtub. My partner had just finished remodeling the laundry room. Lindee left it a mess by leaving a hole, two feet in diameter in the wall. They never came back to repair the wall. Also, when Lindee left my home for the last time, there was no vanity or sink in the bathroom. My partner provided and installed the vanity, the vanity bowls, the faucet fixtures, the towel bar fixtures, the toilet paper fixture and the mirrors over the vanity. Lindee furnished a plastic tub surround and a toilet. That’s it! They were paid $29,to make my bathroom accessible, which it is not, and they didn’t even finish the job. I provided the closet door they installed. Lindee did not even install a door knob on the door. It still sits without a handle to open and close the door. The list goes on and on. I have documentation of all of this through emails and recorded phone calls with Dave of Lindee construction. At a minimum, Lindee construction should reimburse Hennepin county half of the $29,they received for the job that they did. Lindee was paid times more than the bids that I received for a complete bathroom remodel from private contractors. The itemized bid that Lindee construction submitted to Hennepin county detailed the work to be done. By their own bid, they did not do more than $10,of the work for which they were paid. I don’t see any feasible solution between Lindee Construction and me. They have lied and deceived Hennepin county and me throughout this process
