Lindee Construction took on new ownership after 2020, they are specializing in bathroom remodels through County programs for the disabled. We had a bathroom remodel through Ramsey Co for my disabled child.
Lindee never produced a permit for the bathroom remodel when we asked. Telling us multiple times they would bring it with them.
As the construction began to be delayed - Lindee went off to work on other projects - we had issues with the quality of the work which went unanswered. A week at a time would go by without any response, Frank the owner made appointments and never showed up.
We wondered why there had been no city inspections which might resolve our questions.
We checked with the city of St Paul and discovered there had been no remodel permit pulled by Lindee.
The City told us to stop work immediately. Without a permit for a remodel homeowner insurance can be voided and it could be impossible to sell the home in the future.
Lindee panicked in text messages telling us not to contact the city and then tried to win over the City, the County and DHS by going around us - as if knocking a few holes in the walls would replace proper inspections.
We did not agree, we wanted a subcontractor of our choice to finish the work, a subcontractor chosen by Lindee had no current licensee, no insurance, no reviews, and even used photos of other companies work on their website, and were therefore very suspect. There was no longer a shred of trust between ourselves and Lindee.
Lindee's excuse for not addressing problems was that this was going to cost them too much money. Lindee took funds from taxpayers on behalf of the disabled, and damaged our home so that the repairs had to be made by others.
Our new wonderful contractor (thank you City of Saint Paul) assisted us in taking photos and video as well as an affidavit of the problems we found.
Once the walls in the bathroom were torn down we discovered Lindee had drilled holes in their showerpan, which of course would have leaked and damaged the structure of the house. The insulation was not installed correctly and would have moulded.
The tile on the floor was not attached to the floor with thinset, myself and our contractor could pull it up with our hands. There was only a little bit of grout holding it together. (not waterproof, and not even, leading to tripping hazard)
Similarly the wall tiles were easy to tear off - grout had been crumbling and washing out since installation.
The toilet and wall mounted sink were never properly anchored, the toilet was rocking in place - neither was there proper blocking in the shower for a grab bar to be installed as promised by the contractor.
An electric wall outlet was not flush to the tile wall which exposed the wiring to water.
A vent was placed behind the toilet so that heat would compromise the wax seal to the sewer line and the use of a single vent to two rooms was not to code, so this had to be redone.
Elements of the plumbing also needed to have copper attachments to the fixtures to be up to code and had to be re-done.
Lindee had been given extra funds from us to put in our tile of choice and a shower niche, we were told their niche had to be installed off center because it was a load bearing wall but this was a lie, our new contractor was able to center the new niche by simply doing the work of framing.
Our new contractor also had to repair extensive damage to the plaster wall in the bedroom joining the bathroom.
I will also add just within the last month, the stair railing that Lindee installed cracked, and almost sent my daughter headfirst down the stairs.
I have seen multiple other reviews of the same issues with Lindee, please take our advice and steer clear.

Lindee Construction under new ownership is almost criminal, they never supplied a copy of the remodel permit and kept telling us they would provide it.
Frustrated with the lack of communication from Lindee, I checked the county website, I discovered they never took out the required permit, and we were told by the city to stop work on the bathroom immediately.
Lindee fought with us (the homeowners) and the city of St Paul over pulling down the un-inspected work because it would cost them too much. They attempted to placate the city inspectors and Ramsey Co and DHS with the idea that banging a few holes in the walls was acceptable.
Without a permit and inspections house insurance can be voided and a house might be unsellable.
Lindee would not use a subcontractor of our choice, the company they suggested had no license to operate, had no insurance, and had no photos to show of their own work.
We found new contractors through the City of St. Paul home modification program and our new contractor filmed, photographed and signed an affidavit as to the bad work of Lindee,
The tile on the bathroom floor had no thinset to cement it to the floor, but was only held together by a tiny bit of grout ontop we could pull it up with our hands. The wall tile came off in sheets with the grout crumbling, as it had never been mixed properly.
There was also mold on the insulation they had installed. They drilled holes into their own showerpan, so it was going to leak everywhere.
The electrical outlet they installed next to the toilet was not flush to the wall, exposing the wiring to water.
They put a vent behind the toliet where heat would compromise the wax seal and the vent split between two rooms was not up to code and had to be redone by the new contractor.
They also didn't anchor the wall mounted sink or the toilet properly.
A stair rail they put up cracked and almost sent my daughter headfirst down the staircase.
Lindee spent weeks away on other jobs. Bad at communication, bad at respecting the law, bad at construction. If you are in Saint Paul and seeking a home modification, go through the city program.
PS, I have photos and video of the bad work but site would not allow me to load.
