Lindeman's Cleaning is responding to the complaint that was submitted on 2-3-2015 assigned ID numberof [redacted]Ms. [redacted] did bring in a pair of jean pants on 12-8-2014. Ms. [redacted] did pin the pants herself. Our customer service supervisor spoke with Ms. [redacted] at [redacted] location...

the 8th, sheexplained, it would be best to have a fitting at [redacted]. She decided not to have themprofessional fitted. We did call her in regard to the type of hem she would like. We can do a standardhem or a Euro-hem on jeans. We were waiting for communication with her in regard to that specificquestion. This is why the jeans were not ready on the day we stated, they would be ready.Ms. [redacted], measured off of another pair of pants. We highly recommend customers come for aprofessional fitting, pants fit different with, each style of pants along with body type. Measuring againstanother pair of pants does not always work as it fits on your body differently as the rise, either high orlow would be different. The width of the leg also makes a difference as it would fall over your ankle orabove YOW ankle. We did mention to Ms. [redacted], it would be a good idea to come in for a fitting. Thefitting is included in the price for hemming of the pants. Even though it may be the same brand orcompany and appear to be the same cut, pants are usually different. Fitting rooms available at to avoidany questions we asked her to come to [redacted]. to have it professionally fit to you and shoeheight. We have refunded the cost of the pants for $51.68 and the will send the reimbursement of $20.42 inthe mail for the cost of the alterations. We are disappointed with the outcome. We are looking forwardto servicing her alteration needs in the future.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I would like to say in regard to the response from Lindeman's that I was never told that I was required to have a professional fitting prior to having the pants hemmed. The first time I had brought a pair of jeans there I was told I needed to have them pinned when I brought them in to the [redacted] location. I also did not receive a call from them asking whether I would like a Euro or standard hem, as they stated in response to why the pants had been late. As I stated in my first message, I have pinned pants I have brought there before and have never had this issue. I pin them, try them on, and also compare them to another pair of jeans I have. The fit on all of my pants are very similar, but whether the fit is similar or not, I do not feel that the fit or width of the leg would make as large of a difference as four inches. I am dissatisfied with this excuse. I am still extremely dissatisfied with how the entire situation was handled, and the way I was treated by every representative I spoke with. I do not feel I should have had to go through this much trouble for something that should have been handled by the business quickly and appropriately when the mistake was made, instead of repeatedly placing blame on the customer. I have finally been refunded the twenty dollars for the incorrect hem two months after the fact. I find it in bad taste that this company continually argued with me, and falsified the majority of their response in regards to my complaint. Since they were unable to rectify the situation in the first place, I highly doubt I will ever be returning to Lindeman's for any service.
Regards,
[redacted]

Review: I had taken a pair of jeans to be hemmed on Monday, December 8th, 2014. I dropped them off at the [redacted] Location, since it is the closest to my house. I pinned the pants up myself, which I have done in the past when bringing pants to be hemmed here, and have never had an issue. I was told the would be finished the following Monday or Tuesday. I went to pick them up on Tuesday, December 18th, and they were still not finished. I received a call on Thursday, December 18th that they were finished, and proceeded to pick them up and pay for the service. When I brought them home to try on, the bottom of the pants were far above my ankles, to the point where they looked like capris. The following day, I brought them back to the [redacted] location to inquire about what happened. I had brought with me a pair of my jeans that I compare the length of my pants to when pinning them to be hemmed, and also another pair that I previously had hemmed at Lindeman's. When the woman took the pants out of the bag, she stated that she could tell they were too short just by looking at them. She proceeded to measure the other two pairs of pants that I had brought with me, which both measured at 29 inches in length. Then she measured the pants that were just hemmed, which measured at 25 inches in length. The differences of 4 inches made them unwearable, and unable to be repaired. She told me she would have to send them back to the [redacted] location, and they would call me in a few days.

I waited about a week with no return phone call, so I called to inquire about what was going on. I did not receive a call back until December 26th,a voicemail from a woman named [redacted] asking me to call them. I called when I was finished with work that day, and [redacted] was no longer there. I did not receive another call until December 29th, this time from a different woman, Jesse, asking me to bring in my receipt for the original purchase of my pants, and also a receipt for the service they provided. I brought both receipts in that day. I received a voicemail on January 1st, 2015, saying that they would credit my account there $55.00, to have other cleaning or tailoring done. This was not the original amount I had spent, and after the mistake of hemming my pants much too short, I really was not comfortable going to Lindeman's for any other services whatsoever. I did call back to inform them that I did not want to be credited for any future services there due to the mistake, and that I would like a refund for my pants that were ruined, and a refund for the incorrect hemming. The amount I paid for my pants was $51.68, and the amount I was charged for the hem was $20.42. A total of $72.10. I was told they would need to get back to me.

I received a voicemail later that day from Jesse. stating that she spoke with her managers, and they would not be refunding me for the full amount I had requested. She stated "We feel that you had pinned the pants instead of having a fitting done, which would have been part of the cost also of the alteration, so they did shorten them per your instruction, so the only cost that we would be willing to refund is the cost of the purchase of the pants."

II called back to inquire about this statement, and stated that I didn't quite understand how this was my fault, and that I had brought pants in before that I had pinned myself and never had an issue. She told me again that since I pinned them myself they wouldn't refund me. I received a refund for only the purchase of the pants in the mail about two weeks later.

Throughout this entire situation, I was extremely disappointed and frustrated that I was never contacted by an actual manager. I was on and off the phone multiple times, with multiple different people. Im also extremely disappointed, because I do not feel the mistake for the alteration was my fault. As I stated before, I have brought pants there before to be hemmed that I have pinned myself, and have never had an issue. I also don't understand why having a fitting would be part of my cost, since I did not have that done. It was rather disappointing that this was a near month long process, and the issue was never resolved. When I had first spoke with the [redacted] location, I was told that they stand behind there work and I would be refunded. I was then told after that since I pinned my own pants, they were not liable. I have seen nothing written on their website about this policy. I felt as if the situation was handled very poorly throughout, with multiple different people telling me different ways that this would be resolved. Not only was the original mistake enough to deter me from ever going back there, but also the poor communication between all parties involved.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded for the alteration, which was $20.42. I do not feel since they stand behind there work, I should have to pay for work that was clearly incorrect.
