Purchased a reconditioned outboard motor and it has been nothing but problems. Our mechanic said the motor was hacked together with the wrong parts. We have a warranty which the owner will not honor. We could've purchased a brand new motor with the money we have spent and it still does not run. Will never do business with them again.
Review: I paid Lindenhurst Outboard to winterize my boat . They were supposed to service my boat which included changing my engine oil and filter before winter storage . In the spring I picked up my boat thinking my boat was taken care of as per my agreement with them but later found out that my oil and filter was never changed as well as my fuel filter . Oil and filter was examined and tested by an authorized boat repair shop . As a result of the engine oil and filter sitting over the winter and accumulating moisture and other contaminates in the oil all the water and dirty oil was distributed thru the motor which eventually caused my engine to seize up . This caused me to lose the complete 2014 boating season and eventually the sale of the boat at a drastic price reduction because of the blown engine . I called Lindenhurst Outboard to ask them if they changed the oil and they told me " I think we did " ! Not a good response for a customer to hear .Desired Settlement: Refund my money that was given for winter storage due to damages to my engine .
