Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:I have been in regular contact with the service repair staff at Lindsay Ford and they have assured me that the car has been fixed and is currently at the dealershipI have, at no point, refused to allow them to fix the car; I have instead refused to accept ownership of the vehicle again because I do not feel safe driving a car with a history of dramatic mechanical failureThe only silver lining in the entire situation is that on the day the car broke down I had not yet picked up my grandmother for Thanksgiving, so her life was never put in danger by the vehicleI am not interested in another car or in anything other than a full repurchase of the defective vehicle; Lindsay Ford leased the vehicle to me and should accept responsibility for itI have opened a case with Ford Motors, and want Lindsay Ford to cooperate with them to authorize a repurchasing of the vehicleUntil that is completed, I will not assume ownership of a car that put my life in danger

WORST dealership ever! STEER CLEAR! We traded in our Kia Soul and they allowed us to drive off in a used f150 in May, it is now almost August and they still HAVE NOT financed us. We're almost 4 months with a truck that we pay insurance on, that we've had to ALREADY make repairs on, and we don't even own it. To make matters worse, they still have not paid our loan off for the Kia Soul we traded in. Due to their horrible business, our credit scores dropped 100 points and we are almost defaulting on the loan for the Kia that is not even in our possession. They've mailed us multiple contracts claiming we've finally been financed, however once we sign and submit the contracts, we receive rejection notices from the banks stating we were unable to be financed through them. They sent us a final letter stating we've finally been approved by PNC bank... After hearing the same story too many times, we pulled an up to the minute credit report and it shows almost 10 different inquiries from banks they've attempted to finance us through but ABSOLUTELY NO record of PNC bank ever pulling our credit. How is it that we've been financed through pnc if they haven't even pulled our credit? What they've done is "stolen" our down payment, taken a Kia Soul that's still in our name, have not even made the payments on the trade in or paid off our loan which caused our credit score drop 100 points and we are one missed payment away from defaulting on a loan for our Kia which is in Lindsay Fords possession. Please save yourselves.

Review: This business is sending advertisements meant to seem like legitimate mail from a non-company source. They're doing this by way of sending a plain white envelope with a person's address, but no return address. Inside the envelope is what is meant to be a page from a newspaper with a headline claiming "Credit Forgiveness Sale Is Back By Popular Demand: First-Time Buyer, Bad Credit, No Credit, No Problem" there is no date on the paper but there is a following article that corresponds to that headline. There is also a post-it attached to the newspaper with a seemingly handwritten note that says "[redacted], I got approved! *" I thought this was weird and posted on social media to ask who it was from as there was no return address on the envelope. Turns out others have gotten similar mail with no return address and just a fake newspaper and note. From what I understand that's patently illegal to send an advertisement with no return address. All mailings must be identified, by postal regulations. It's also just really creepy and deceptive.Desired Settlement: I would like for this company to make clear of the advertisements they're sending out. I feel it's quite rude to send out such a deceptive advertisement, especially one so seemingly custom-tailored when I have NEVER even visited the establishment. What they're doing is illegal and makes me want to never give them any sort of business.

Review: I am very dissatisfied ,I came to Lindsay Ford ,of weekend Maryland on May 13 2014 to trade my 2013 Ford [redacted] for a new 2014 Ford [redacted] that night everything was fine I left with the new truck after 3 week not hearing anything from the dealership about who is my lender who I'm going to make my monthly payments tooI spoke too. Mark L** he said ,sorry ,we got behind of time and he told meI have to come in and resigned, so I did on June 17 ,2014 because he couldn't get a bank to do the trade in because the equity is too large so Mark L** (finance) and Sarah B[redacted]( general sales manager) gave me a couple of option number one ,come in and get your Ford [redacted] back number two ,give it to someone else to take the payment over and number three ,call the bank ([redacted]) and tell them to come and get your car back because I can't afford it anymore, or just have two car notes.on July 9,2014 I called the dealership to ask about when will I get my tags I spoke with Kathy M[redacted]( tag and title manager) she had no idea what was going on ,she put me on hold three times, and then she told me she have to look into it and give me a called back she call me back 10 minutes later and said we did we need some more information from you in order to get your tag and I said if I didn't call my paper tag would have expired ,and I would have not got my tag on time she said I know, I'm sorry, just fax in in your insurance information and we'll get it taken care of for you, so I told her I wanted to speak to the manager and yhey put me on the phone with Kyle Bacon(Finance Director) he was very rude and nasty, to me over the phone I told him wanted to give the 2014 ford explored back, and he said you can't it belongs to you now, andhe was just very rude and hung up the phone on me , so I got upset and I called back and ask to speak to Mark Law the person that did my finance and they said he's with a customer so I told the secretary that I want to speak to the general manager they had me on hold for 12 minutes I had to hung up.No one call me back, nothing, so I went there july 10,2014 and I spoke with Mike E[redacted](General Manager),and he said it belongs to you now, there's nothing that we can do, soi told him okay I will call the bank, and see what the bank can do, so I did call [redacted](auto finance department).I spoke with [redacted], I started to tell her what happened, and I didn't want the truck anymore the 2014 Ford [redacted].she asked me why, I told her I have two! Car notes, she asked me if one of the cars that I have is it on the contract I told her my contract only have one car on it, which is the 2014 Ford [redacted] said the contract that we have, have both the Ford [redacted] ,and the Ford [redacted] on it so she told me to pull my contract out, the contract is the exactly the same except, mines doesn't have the trad-in on it but hers does so I informed the dealership of the information that I came upon, they said it must have been the old contract, and I told them no its not, I have both the new and old contract so later that day Mark L** call and offer to pay off my Ford [redacted].so I went back to Lindsay Ford on July 11, 2014 and I spoke with Sarah B[redacted] she offered me money and told me that is not going to mess my credit up if I turn the car into the bank and I have a recording to support what I'm saying, I signed a letter that Sarah made up on the computerand she refused to give me a copy she told me she's going to shred it, she ripped it up in my face and shred it she told me the general manager will give me a call to work something out and he never did..I'm a mother of three small children I can't afford to pay two large car payment each month on the salary that I make.........Desired Settlement: I want Lindsay Ford to pay off my Ford [redacted]

Review: I purchased a 2007 Ford Expedition in Jan 2011 with GAP Insurance coverage from Lindsay Ford of Wheaton. On September 1, 2012 I traded in the 2007 Ford Expedition for a 2007 GMC Yukon Denali XL. At the time of the September purchase of the Yukon negative equity had rolled over from the Expedition into the note of the Yukon. At that time the finance representative to me to cancel my GAP Insurance off the expedition when I get the payoff letter. On September 27, I receive the letter and the following day took it up to Lindsay Ford to be processed for my refund. That day in September 2012 I went there with all information in hand to process my refund. The finance representative was not there but was on the phone with another finance man and he relayed for for that finance rep to make copies of all of my paperwork and to tell me I would get a refund I. 6-8 wks. Well, that 6-8 weeks turned Into a year. The refund never made it to me so on Septemeber 27, 2013 I went back to reprocess the GAP Insurance cancellation from the back date when it was paid off. [redacted] processed it again and said that I would get a refund in 4 weeks once again I have not seen yet. I have jut recently traded out of another vehicle and my money was refunded rather quickly and I don't understand why I am waiting a year or more for my refundDesired Settlement: I would like for my GAP Insurance to refunded from the back date of when the truck was paid off in September 2012 when I originally cancelled it. I am also aware that I would not be eligible for the full amount of the GAP due to daily percentage during the time of purchase until it was traded

Dear [redacted],

I have received a complaint letter that was submitted to you on 11/5/2013 10:20:32 AM and was assigned an ** of [redacted] in regards to a GAP cancellation. I have personally spoken to the customer via phone today at 4:30 PM apologizing for the inconvenience that the gap cancellation refund may have caused. She is very understanding and agrees to the solution that I have provided her with. I will be issuing her a check on November 27, 2013 for the amount that would have been issue to her when it was originally cancelled. This check will be mail out the same day, but in regard to the holiday, I have told her that she may get it late next week. I also suggest her to call me back if she doesn’t receive it or if she has any other further concerns.

Thank you, [redacted], for your help in this matter. If you have any questions or concerns in regards to this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Review: I SHOWED UP TO PURCHASE A 2011 [redacted] FOR 10999 IN WHICH I WAS A INTERNET CUSTOMER. THEY SENT ME AN EMAIL WITH THE PRICE ONCE I GOT THERE THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THE PRICE AND SAID THE HAD A RECONDITIONING FEE ON ALL OF THERE USED VEHICLES. OF COURSE THIS FEE CAN NOT BE ITEMIZED ON THERE CONTRACT BECAUSE IT IS A BOGUS CHARGE, THEY LUMP IT INTO THE CAR PRICE. UNFORTUNATELY I ENDED UP BUYING THE CAR ANYWAY. THE MANAGER [redacted] IS THE ONE I HAGGLED WITH. SHE SAID THAT I WOULD GET A THOUSAND IN TRADE YET I WAS STILL ON THE FENCE DUE TO MY CAR INSURANCE GOING UP PLUS HAVING A CAR PAYMENT. SHE THEN SAID I WOULD GET A 1000 IN TRADE AND SHE WOULD PAY ME A 1000 IN CHECK THAT WOULD TAKE CARE OF MY INSURANCE FOR A YEAR AND THE SOME. SHE EXPLAINED THEM AS TWO SEPERATE THINGS NOT THE SAME. I AGREED TO THIS AND WENT TO SEE TIM THE FINANCE GUY. HE WROTE IT UP EXCATLY THAT WAY AND I SIGNED THE PAPERS. I WAS THEN WAITING FOR THE CHECK WHICH THEY WOULD NOT GIVE TO ME SINCE I DID NOT HAVE THE TITLE TO MY TRADE. [redacted] THEN LOOKED AT THE CONTRACT AND CHANGED IT SO THAT I WAS GETTING PAID A 1000 IN CHECK FOR MY TRADE WHICH IS NOT WHAT WE AGREED TO. THIS IS THE FIRST PROBLEM I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH. ON TOP OF THAT I HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR TWO MONTHS AND IT HAS ALREADY BEEN IN THE SHOP 3 TIMES FOR REPAIRS. THE SECOND ISSUE IS THE $1000 CHECK HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED TO ME YET. EVERY TIME I TALK TO SOMEONE THEY BLOW ME OFF. I HAVE TALKED TO MANAGER [redacted], MANAGER [redacted], FINANCE [redacted] AND THEY ALL SAID THEY WILL GET BACK TO ME AND HAVE DONE NOTHING INSTEAD.Desired Settlement: IDEALLY I WOULD WANT THE CAR PRICE THEY SENT TO ME IN THE EMAIL, BUT MOST OF ALL I WANT THE MONEY OWED TO ME THAT IS STATED IN MY CONTRACT. IN WHICH I ALSO A HAVE A STATEMENT FILLED OUT BY [redacted] STATING THEY OWE ME A $1OOO CHECK

Review: My husband and I purchased an extended vehicle warranty on a car I purchased at Lindsay Ford car back in June 2011 (6 yr/72,000 mi). I have since traded that car in and need to cancel the service contract as I have traded in the vehicle as of May 31, 2013. I have tried to contact Lindsay Ford on 5 separate occasions: 2 phone calls and 3 emails. I have not heard back from anyone at the business. I need to cancel the contract and be reimbursed the money that is owed to me.

The information on the service contract is as follows:

Contract Number: [redacted], Form Number: [redacted] Car Info: 2010 Mercury Mountaineer

Lienholder: [redacted] The purchase price for the extended warranty was $2095. If broken down my mile, we have only used approx $705 of the contract and should be credited the remaining $1390. If broken down by time, we had only used 2 years out of 6 years, thus using $699 of the purchase price- refund being $1396. I do not care which way it is to be broken down, but a refund is a must!

*I have documentation, if necessary, from [redacted], releasing me from my financial agreement.Desired Settlement: I would like to hear back from Lindsay Ford and be refunded the remaining monies according to correct calculations.

My mother in law went to look at cars. She was approached and "sold" a car she could not afford, but even though she signed a contract, she did not take the "liberty" do the deal could be cancelled.
She made an appt for Monday at 9:15am, and asked me to go with her because she does not speak or understand English. When we arrived, we were told the salesman who had made the appt was in a meeting. 45 minutes later, when I asked for an explanation, I was told I was being confrontational. When I asked to see the contract she had signed, the refused. They were trying to get her to pay 15 percent interest.
When I told them that she did not want the deal and that she wanted her 1,000 check back, they said it was a contract that could not be mitigated. This was an outright lie. And it was a sales manager who lied.
We got her check back and left. It was a horrible experience.
I would never recommend this dealer to anyone. They are not honest and will lie to try to save a sale.

Review: Putting aside their false advertising practices of putting prices for cars on the internet that no one can possibly qualify for, thereby offering a price much lower than they are willing to go, the customer service was the real problem at this place. Through 3 different visits I was ignored, paperwork was lost, offers were scribbled on the backs of paper with no explanation, and deals talked about on email were somehow not available when you get to the location. They refuse to give a written breakdown of anything, and are constantly trying to bully you into making a deal. Insults were traded in loud staff disagreements across the sales floor, and no one could get their act together. It took more than an hour just to retrieve the car I wanted to look at, and had called ahead about, out of their back lot and over to me. Monty H[redacted] (Sales and leasing manager), after presenting things consistently in a very disorganized and unclear fashion during my first two visits, was followed by Sarah B[redacted] (a general sales manager) at the end of my second visit who tried to badger me into making a deal. She presented herself as annoyed, and like I had offended her.

But the absolute worst thing was that after this awful experience with them, I was encouraged to go back a month later and try a third time to make a deal by my father, who has bought two cars from them in the distant past. I opened a second round of email correspondence and finally, after tremendous rigamarole, arrived at what might be a workable deal. I made sure they knew that I was really unhappy with my previous experience, and that this was a chance for me to get a great deal on a car, and them to make it up to me. Going back in to complete what should have been a fairly easy and straightforward trade/sale, I let them know roughly when I'd be in, and was told who I should ask for. Upon arriving at the time I said I would, neither person was apparently available. No one knew where they were. So after standing at the desk for a few minutes, awkwardly waiting, I was eventually taken by yet a different salesman, who did not know anything about me or what information I had already supplied, to a desk. Overall the place was still chaotic, disorganized, and pushy, and I sat down, to be quickly left by my sales rep. After he left, the abandoned father/son pair sitting at the desk next to me, who were waiting for their rep, began asking me about my Fusion buying experiences, as they were just starting and had the impression that Lindsay Ford was playing games with them. I told them that my experience in [redacted] at the Ford dealership was with great customer service, but that Lindsay seemed to have better prices and was offering more on my trade in. A casual conversation in which they were sharing their experiences too. I did not tell them they should go somewhere else, just simply that my experiences had been different at different places. They agreed, that's how it always is, and shared more of their own. Next thing I know, a large man (later found out it is Mike T[redacted], the used car sales manager who had nothing to do with me, and was probably chosen for his intimidating size) is shouting "Hey you, come here!" across the entire sales floor. All of us turned, not knowing what was happening. Upon finding it was me being addressed in this way, I said "Excuse me?". He then rephrased himself saying "Would you please come over here?". I did, and was asked if I was telling customers to go to a different dealer. I said no, I was asked by them what my shopping for this kind of car had been like. I told them I had had a good experience somewhere else with customer service, but the prices were better here. He then told me they didn't want to sell to me, and I had to leave immediately. I asked if he was serious, and he said "yes, I don't want to sell to you anymore. Please leave now". He offered no apology, no further explanation, and other staff members immediately ignored me. I did not protest, I gathered my things and left.Desired Settlement: It would be ideal if they'd sell me the car at the numbers we had discussed, but I do not know that I would even be willing to do business with them, for any price, absent a really truly sincere apology. Mostly this complaint is going to be for the Revdex.com's information, and hopefully other potential car buyer's, as I cannot see Lindsay Ford - mismanaged, disorganized, and rude from the ground up - apologizing in a way that means much. I didn't just feel bullied, and like they were trying to push me into a swindle, I also felt massively mistreated, and like intimidation tactics were being used at the end to protect their potential sales from their own awful customer service/treatment. I was embarrassed, and treated with a level of discourtesy rarely experienced. I don't know what they could really do to make this right. They should figure that out.

Review: received email pricing for vehicle from a sales manager. Second sales manager confirmed pricing with special finance rate with no other incentives along with said vehicles window sticker( I wanted to confirm the exact vehicle/vin we were discussing to avoid confusion). The vehicle and pricing was confirmed with no other incentives-only requirement to qualify for pricing was to finance thru ford. Third manager disagreed with pricing, but when I presented the confirmation from previous two managers, he agreed to sell at this price. I submitted credit app-excellent credit. Finance manager then said no to pricing that was agreed upon and increased the price. I sent frustrating email to previous manager-and two of the managers I was dealing with both emailed me and again confirmed they would sell at original price. When I inquired about special finance rate(which was discussed in original communication to dealership via email), they then changed their minds and said I could not have the financing and speicial pricing.

If they did not want to sell it at that price with the special finanace rate-they should have just told me. Instead they ran my credit knowing they would not sell it at that price.Desired Settlement: Either agree to rpice/rate or apologize for running my credit - this is completely unacceptable that I have had my credit run by a dealership that wasn't going to sell me a car. Thye should be penalized for unauthorized credit app.
