Lindsey's Groom Room Reviews (5)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

My dog [redacted] is a northern dog and she has a double coat.   Any experienced groomer should know when these dogs are molting their coats must be thoroughly brushed out to remove all dead hair prior to washing. Failure to do so will result in irreparably matted hair.   Therefore due to the nature of my dog’s hair, I take great care in brushing my dog’s hair daily as thoroughly as possible to maintain her beautiful coat.
Prior to taking my dog to the groomers I searched online for an experienced local groomer.  I found [redacted]’s Groom Room on [redacted] which showed 2 positive reviews averaging 5 stars (After this experience, I went back to [redacted] and found below the positive reviews a link to other reviews.  I found 12 other reviews, 11 of which were very negative and could not have been taken into account in the very misleading headline 5 star average review score.  Live and learn.)
Satisfied with my initial review of the [redacted]’s Groom Room, I took my dog in and told the [redacted] that my dog was molting and she would need her undercoat brushed out, bathed and nails trimmed.  Given my instructions and my understanding of her experience, I trusted she would be able to groom my dog properly.   However, two hours later, my dog’s beautiful coat was matted beyond repair as it was clear that [redacted] did not understand how to groom a Northern dog with a double coat or follow my instructions.    [redacted] failed to brush out my dog’s coat prior to washing, a serious and grossly negligent error on her part.  My dog had been at the groomers for  two hours when I received a call from the groomers who informed me they needed to shave my dog as her hair had matted all over her body.   Alarmed by the call, I instructed them not to do anything and I would come right down to the store.
Upon arrival [redacted] said that the [redacted] and shampoo mixture caused a reaction and matted all of my dog’s hair.  She said that the same thing happen to a Husky she groomed a few months prior. She believed there was a bad batch of [redacted].   To verify, I immediately called my Veterinarian’s office who verified that that [redacted]’s excuse was false.   [redacted] started screaming and yelling at me and my Veterinarian (who could clearly hear her belligerent language through the phone) in protest and became very hostile and confrontational when I repeated the Veterinarian’s response to her excuse and questioned her about her methods of grooming my dog.
After I saw that there was no way to undo the deep and thorough matting they caused, I had no choice but agree to have her shave my dog’s once beautiful coat.   This was a difficult decision because a Northern dog’s double coats should never be shaved due to the fact that their outer guard hair protects them from UV rays and when cut may never grow back.  After shaving [redacted] had the audacity to ask me to pay the outrageous sum of $280.   I initially refused to pay and asked her to call the police because it was through her gross negligence that my dog’s beautiful fur was shaven to her skin.   [redacted] became extremely hostile and started acting erratically.   At this point she changed her story and said that my dog came in all matted as she knew her previous excuse blaming a bad batch of [redacted] was false.    [redacted]’s behavior and screaming was very frightening and upsetting to me and my dog.   I feared that the situation would escalate and didn’t want an armed police officer to arrive at the scene and mistake the situation and possibly harm my frightened and upset dog.   To defuse the situation, I agreed to pay [redacted] half of the $280 charge.   [redacted] accepted half and I left with my dog.
[redacted] told me she knew how to do her job and she knew how to groom dogs with double coats.   Clearly she does not.   Well for the sake of any other double coated dog who you may groom in the future, [redacted] needs to learn how to do her job.   The following websites set out how to groom a dog properly:
Grooming references:
[redacted]
“Always brush out a dog before bathing to help prevent the formation of mats.”
[redacted]
“During major shedding, it's best if you take the time to thoroughly comb and brush the dead hair out BEFORE bathing otherwise it will mat.”

Conclusions:
1.      [redacted], you have falsely and fraudulently stated that you know how to groom double coated Northern dogs causing me to mistakenly entrust you with my dog’s welfare.   You have ruined my pure bred $1500 Native American Indian Dog’s coat and have put her life at risk of developing [redacted] as her outer guard hair which protects her from UV rays had to be shaven.

2.      You have lied about the cause of the matting to my dog’s fur.  Falsely blaming “a bad batch of [redacted]” which my Veterinarian confirmed was false.

3.      Then you proceeded to maliciously and falsely accused me of being grossly negligent stating that I brought my dog in with matted hair and asked you to hurt my dog.  This is completely slanderous which punishable by law.   If my dog had come in matted as you have stated, and experienced groomer would have known not to bathe her until all of the matting is removed.   However, my dog was clearly shampooed and still damp when I returned to the shop after two hours.  This can only prove two things: 1) Your accusation that my dog was matted prior to grooming was a complete lie; and 2) You lied about your experience and knowledge in grooming double coated dogs.

Based on your gross negligence, damage to my dog and slanderous and belligerent behavior, at the very least I am entitled to a full refund, a retraction of your malicious and slanderous statement posted to the Revdex.com on 7/**/14 and a public apology.

Client brought in a dog matted down to skin due to gross neglect on the pet [redacted]s part the dog had to be shaved.  [redacted] said she brushed the entire dog the day before which is a flat out lie. Before shaving the animal we called [redacted] and asked her to come see the condition of the dog....

She stated Please shave her and I will pay the $140 price quote we e gave her prior. After we shaved the dog she refused to pay we called the cops and when she realized she was wrong and didnt wanna get arrested the client finally paid. We pride ouraelves on doing whats best for each animal...not their [redacted]s. She at first asked me to hurt her dog when I refused thats whwn she said I could shave her.  I provided the service she asked for and never hurt her animal. Sadly she hurt her own beauty.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[The extent of lies from [redacted]’s Groom Room [redacted] is astounding.
I did not throw my money at her employee. I paid by credit card. Attached is a copy of that receipt.
I did not threaten her employee, nor did I yell or have any conversation with another client. I would ask that [redacted] produce the name and contact information to the Revdex.com of said employee and client.
Finally as to her donation of $140 in [redacted]’s name to animal rescue, I would ask that she produce proof of this donation with the dollar amount and date.]

Review: The most untrustworthily and outright lying [redacted] I've ever encountered. The incompetence at this establishment caused all of my dog's coat to get so matted that it had to be shaved off to repair the damage. Our poor dog suffered a great deal of pain due to how deeply she was matted. The groomer first blamed [redacted] for reacting with the shampoo. Once I contacted my Vet and she disputed her [redacted] explanation, the groomer then changed her story and tried to blame me, saying that I did not maintaining my dog's coat. After consulting with our Vet, contacting other groomers and doing extensive research online it is apparent that they don't know how to groom dogs that have under coats. As if enduring their gross ineptness was not enough, they then tried to charge me $28o, more than double my usual $120 bill. Realizing how stressful this environment was for my dog, I finally agreed to pay half, just so I could get her out of this dreadful place.Desired Settlement: I would want a full refund of $140.

Response:

I will not refund any money when a client does not properly care for their dog and that lack of consideration for the animal will not be rewarded. [redacted] has [redacted] as she was crying while we were taking her animal out of pain instead of contributing to her neglect. She was told price was $140 plus tax threw money at my employee after cops were called. I explained to her we called two other shops who would have charged her $280 to put that amount of time and effort in prior to bathing and after finqlly having to shave poor neglected [redacted]. Sadly [redacted] cares more about what she paid for the dog... $1500. Not once did she mention her lack of skill or care for her animal or that her beautiful [redacted] always loved getting groomed at my shop. We work with over 3000 rescue animals and have gained each ones trust by kindness. Im assuming [redacted] didnt let her mother brush her maybe due to a lack of trust after the neglect. After threatening my employees for 30 minutes and then yelling at another client we just wanted to wait for the cops because she seemed unstable. She then paid and left and has been slandering our name since. [redacted] sadly isnt even happy her dog is out of pain. I will be donating $140 in [redacted]s name to animal rescue as I wish someone would take her out of this situation she is stuck in sadly. Thank you so much for your time.

Review: [redacted] significantly overcharged for a haircut and did not deliver results specifically asked- by grooming assistant- [redacted] who did the haircut never looked up at me or confirmed what haircut was requested- clearly uninterested in the details discussed 2 feet away from her. She was condescending and unwilling to compromise in any way. Haircut for my long haired cat was done in under 1.5 hrs.--grossly rushed in any grooming setting. The cat was not even bathed as fur was choppy and only the body was groomed leaving legs and tail untouched. The charge was $98 with tax. I stupidly tipped without checking the animal or questioning the charge-- which is stated "long hair cats are $60 and over." My cat gets groomed every 2 mos. and was not even long. I wanted to try this groomer as most salons do not do cats any more.Additionally I was charged $15 for a so called missed appointment that I never made as I was on a cruise Monday, July **, and specifically said several times to the blonde girl who never even put appointment in book in front of me because it was "in the back"- that I needed Monday the [redacted].[redacted] had the audacity to say I missed 6 appointments-- gross lie and ov er-exaggeration -- I will look into small claims court for this passive aggressive abuse and pathetic over charge, which is probably illegal.I am a medical professional and I will 100% attest that this groomer and worker are incompetent in delivering service and customer care and are grossly unprofessional.Desired Settlement: At the very least refund the over charge amount.
