Review: My daughter and 3 friends ordered a cab to take them 8 miles from [redacted] in nesconset to [redacted] in Nissequogue. They were charged $45 each way, for a total of $90. When I called the next day, without telling the gentleman what happened last night, I gave the dispatcher the trip details and asked how much the charge would be. I was told $25. After asking him why my daughter and her friends were charged $45 each way last night, the dispatcher told me there was an additional charge of $5 per person for insurance purposes and also gave this arrogant reply, "Well, they got there safe, didn't they?" This cab company has a monopoly, as they are the only cab company in Suffolk County, and they take advantage of each situation when the opportunity arises. I have heard of this complaint from other customers.Desired Settlement: I would like this company to stop this bait and switch practice and dishonest fee practice.

I CHECKED WITH THE TAXI OFFICE INVOLVED, AND FOUND THAT THE CHARGE WAS $35.00 NOT $45.00.THE DISTANCE WAS 9½ MILES. WHICH MAKES IT A $30.00 CALL PLUS $2.00 FOR EACH EXTRA PASSENGER WHICH MADE THE CALL COME TO $36.00, AND WE DID IT FOR $35.00 PLUS THE CUSTOMER GAVE THE DRIVER A $5.00 TIP.

Lindys taxi dropped off 5 of us at a vineyard out in southhold NY. As we ask the driver should we pay for our confirmed reservation for a our round trip we were told no that we will pay then upon pickup for the return trip. Taxi never showed up we called dispatch they repeatedly told is our ride is outside. Taxi was no where to be found. We call back dispatch his story changed to we didn't pay ahead Abd therefore not sending a taxi out to southold for pick up. 5 adults left stranded doing the right thing by reserving a taxi that never showed. Besides the taxi not showing up we told multiple stories and the dispatch person kept hanging up on us.

Review: [redacted] twice. The first time I asked the dispatcher how much; he said $50. When I got to my destination, the cabbie charged me &60. The second time, the dispatcher told me $60. At my destination, the cabbie couldn't break two $50 bills, so we agreed to use my credit card. The cabbie filled out the form for $72, saying the extra $12 was to cover the cost that VISA charges for the transaction; that's a 20% fee. VISA only charges around 4%. Also, on the second event, the taxi was 20 minutes late, and the cabbie told me that it was not his problem, a dumb thing to say to an already-[redacted] customer.Desired Settlement: Letter of apology and return of $12.

Absolutely the worst experience I could encounter. All of my experiences with them have been TERRIBLE but this one definitely takes the cake.

They almost got my poor boyfriend arrested. To begin, I called the taxi company for a ride for my boyfriend to Medford train station an HOUR before I needed them to arrive. The dispatcher, Melanie, gave me a snarky attitude and said I didn't allow enough time to arrive there (the train station is 5 minutes away.) Okay... Well they arrive with enough time and everything seems okay. They get to the train and he tries to pay with my credit card. They refuse to do so because it's in my name. So I send him money to his account and they charge it. It doesn't go through for some reason ( turns out they overcharged him 3 times for more than 6 bucks so that's why it doesn't go through.) They threaten to take him to the precinct and have him arrested so I call the dispatcher to try to pay that way. She refuses to do so and insinuates that I stole the card and that she needs written consent. I try to tell her that I will call the bank and have them call her and she starts personally attacking our characters! She says that she doesn't understand why we would pay with a credit card and doesn't understand why he doesn't have cash ... I explain to her that we didn't know and I live in Manhattan so I didn't know it was a problem. She continues attacking me and then says ," there's nothing I can do and you're unpleasant so your boyfriend's getting arrested ." I am a very sensible and nice person but I definitely have a breaking point . So I snap back and say , " DO NOT ARREST MY BOYFRIEND ." And she hangs up on me ... Mind you this was over a 15 dollar fair. Worse business ever.

Review: The taxi always come more than 30 mins later and make me miss the train 2 times.Desired Settlement: The company should make an apology and send me email to explain the reason. Also they should improve their service.

I waited 35 mins for a cab. For a 15 min, 6.2 mile trip it cost me around 36$. A rude incompetent dispatcher who seemed angry to have my business and rip me off. Gas is around $2.15 a gallon and it was not rush hour 230pm. Shame on Lindys taxi of [redacted].
