Revdex.com: This complaint came after working with the CA Bureau of Automotive Repair to try and get resolution with my issue as detailed in the complaint The BAR did an investigation on my behalf, and had reached an impasse so I made my Revdex.com complaint to try and move the situation forward However, upon further discussions with the BAR representative and with my credit card company, I was able to verify this afternoon that my disputed charge was successfully upheld and my credit card company was able to extract the disputed funds from Mr [redacted] account to cover the dispute I apologize for any inconvenience, but it seems like my issue is now resolvedHowever, I would still like to present my complaint to the Revdex.com as a notification of Mr [redacted] dishonest business practices so that they can accurately represent his business on their websiteMr [redacted] representation of his actions are not accurate He made no effort to refund my money, and the funds were withdrawn from his account because my bank presented his bank with sufficient evidence that his bank forcefully withdrew the funds from his account I also learned from the BAR representative that Mr [redacted] never paid the reseller for the topper I ordered, and thus never actually ordered a topper for me Therefore, his communications with me regarding backordered items and supply problems could be nothing more than a fabrication, as the reseller informed BAR that Mr [redacted] was informed in no uncertain terms that no topper was ever ordered due to lack of payment on his partPlease don't hesitate to contact me for further information or if you have questionsThank you [redacted]

I went to Mr *** to get a Line-X bedliner installed in my truck on March 5, At the time, he was listed as a licensed franchise of Line-X, which is how I found his business Mr*** installed a bedliner in my truck, and informed me at the time, after I mentioned I wanted a truck cap, that he also is a Leer dealer He had Leer promotional materials, so I worked with him to design and order a custom Leer topper I paid in full for the bedliner and cap ($3,221.07), and I received an invoice stating delivery of the cap would be in 3-weeks
I spoke with *** *** at Leer and she informed me that Mr*** had no business relationship with Leer, that there was no topper on order from my area for a GMC canyon, and that I should attempt to get my money back from Mr*** (implying but not stating explicitly that they have had negative interactions with him previously)I called Mr*** to cancel my topper order, and he assured me that he would issue a credit card refund

On Tuesday May 22nd, my vehicle was damaged in the car washI checked my vehicle thoroughly after each wash and the damage most certainly occurred as a result of the washdents were put in the roof of my carThe manager had already left for the dayI immediately notified the attendant on dutyHe took down my information and said he would pass it alongThe manager did not call me back until Friday
At that time, he attempted to argue about the damage, repeatedly denying the inherent possibility of aberrancies of the machines which led to the damageAfter this, he relented, stating that he had no part in the damage claim process, and that there was a form to fill out on the website, after which a representative from corporate would contact me
No such claim form was found on their website, at which point I filled out the survey under the "contact us" link telling them about the damageI filled this out on the 25th, and again on the 31stNeither contact received a reply other

This complaint came after working with the CA Bureau of Automotive Repair to try and get resolution with my issue as detailed in the complaint.  The BAR did an investigation on my behalf, and had reached an impasse so I made my Revdex.com complaint to try and move the situation forward.  However, upon further discussions with the BAR representative and with my credit card company, I was able to verify this afternoon that my disputed charge was successfully upheld and my credit card company was able to extract the disputed funds from Mr. [redacted] account to cover the dispute.  I apologize for any inconvenience, but it seems like my issue is now resolved.
However, I would still like to present my complaint to the Revdex.com as a notification of Mr. [redacted] dishonest business practices so that they can accurately represent his business on their website. Mr. [redacted] representation of his actions are not accurate.  He made no effort to refund my money, and the funds were withdrawn from his account because my bank presented his bank with sufficient evidence that his bank forcefully withdrew the funds from his account.
I also learned from the BAR representative that Mr. [redacted] never paid the reseller for the topper I ordered, and thus never actually ordered a topper for me.  Therefore, his communications with me regarding backordered items and supply problems could be nothing more than a fabrication, as the reseller informed BAR that Mr. [redacted] was informed in no uncertain terms that no topper was ever ordered due to lack of payment on his part.
Please don't hesitate to contact me for further information or if you have questions.

Review: I went to Mr [redacted] to get a Line-X bedliner installed in my truck on March 5, 2016. At the time, he was listed as a licensed franchise of Line-X, which is how I found his business. Mr. [redacted] installed a bedliner in my truck, and informed me at the time, after I mentioned I wanted a truck cap, that he also is a Leer dealer. He had Leer promotional materials, so I worked with him to design and order a custom Leer topper. I paid in full for the bedliner and cap ($3,221.07), and I received an invoice stating delivery of the cap would be in 3-4 weeks.

I spoke with [redacted] at Leer and she informed me that Mr. [redacted] had no business relationship with Leer, that there was no topper on order from my area for a GMC canyon, and that I should attempt to get my money back from Mr. [redacted] (implying but not stating explicitly that they have had negative interactions with him previously). I called Mr. [redacted] to cancel my topper order, and he assured me that he would issue a credit card refund for the topper, to show up in 5-7 business days. I called Mr. [redacted] on June 10 to inform him that I had not seen a refund on my credit card, and he told me he wanted to avoid fees and would get a cashier's check for the refund amount and personally deliver the check to my residence on June 15. Mr. [redacted] did not deliver a check on June 15. A further search of Mr. [redacted]'s other business names revealed an Autoworks Inc, registered to the same address, with multiple reviews from people having problems with Mr. [redacted] and a Revdex.com search of this business revealed an alert had been placed on them. I further contacted the corporate office of Line-X, the brand of bedliner he installed on my truck, and they informed me they had terminated his franchise on June 9. The west coast sales rep for Line-x, [redacted] informed me that he has received numerous complaints regarding Mr. [redacted].

I have filed a complaint with the CA Bureau of Automotive Repair, which Mr. [redacted] has a license from under Autoworks, IncDesired Settlement: Ultimately, I feel that there are multiple sources of information indicating that Mr. [redacted] engages in unfair and dishonorable business practices. This type of behavior should warrant an investigation of Mr. [redacted]'s business practices to determine if he should be allowed to further operate a business in California. I notice that after Line-X discontinued their franchise with him, Mr. [redacted] has renamed his business as Truck and Jeep Outfitters, though it is at the same address and phone number.

Response:

Note - We sell Leer tops and purchase thur distribution as a lot of resellers due - Our customer ordered a top from us and also we did a bedliner in his pickup - we provided the service for the liner and the customer order a leer top - the distributor we order the top from by accidently did not process our order and our customer top was not delivered - we discussed this with the customer he wanted a refund for the top. We agreed to do a refund in full for the leer top. We are sorry this happened. The refund was issued in june in full two months ago - our merchant service acct removed the funds from our account in june and the customers merchant account had to apply the credit to his card. I talked and followed up with the customer two to three times, he said as of august his bank did not apply the credit to his account. I contacted our merchant acct and they said that they did everything on our end properly, that the customers bank had to apply the credit that we refunded to his merchant was in error for the delay. I just found out today that the customers bank was at fault and did not apply his credit that was to be done two months ago. As far as a Line X Franchise we end or agreement in june and since were not a Line X dealer any longer this is why we don't use the Line x name any longer.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: If I receive the check for the full amount of $269.00 in the mail by Friday,as he said he would, I will be happy. I will be happy. [redacted] has lied about most of his response, but I hope this is over soon. I would not ever do business with him in the future. I would like to keep this open until Monday March 28, as I don't trust that I will see the check by Friday.
