Review: I wanted to learn two foreign languages (French and Japanese), and I found the institute on the internet for their language training service and got in telephone contact with [redacted] on Nov. 5, 2013.
On Nov. 6th, 2013, at 2:30pm, I went to his office at the institute and paid him $1,350 up front with my debit card, which was half of the cost for 60 hours of tutoring, as he requested. There wasn't a written, or verbal contract or agreement, of any kind; all I have is a receipt of payment.
He found me a French and a Japanese tutor; I tried to call them to discuss the curriculum and preparation for class; when I couldn't get in touch with the French tutor, I left her a message and she did not get back to me for 3 days. Then I called and spoke with the Japanese tutor on the phone, her rude and disrespectful attitude was intolerable.
I then explained what happened with those tutors to [redacted], and wanted him to refer me to other instructors, because according to him, they have many instructors at the institute, but he impatiently refused my request and said:" you can go ahead and look for instructors yourself elsewhere", his attitude towards me was bitter and sarcastic; therefore, I requested a full refund on Nov. 14th, and [redacted] said to go pick up the refund check at his office on Nov. 21st, without telling me that he was going to keep $350.
My dad brought me to his office this morning on Nov. 21st; [redacted] handed me a check of only $1,000. He had robbed me of $350.Desired Settlement: [redacted] at the Lingual Institute should refund my $350 that he robbed from me.

Dear **. [redacted]:
I have attached a copy of my letter sent to **. [redacted] when I gave a refund.
In addition, since we had an agreed upon scope of services, an agreed upon fee and an agreed upon time limit, I feel that she was the one who broke our verbal contract for which I have many pages of emails supporting this position.
I hope this additional information will conclude this matter
Please let me know if you need additional information.
Thank you for allowing me to present a more balanced account of what actually occurred.
Best Regards,
Consumer
