The sale experience was great! Fast and painless. However when the boat I purchased broke down the 3rd time we used and when bring back for them to fix it took3 months! We could not get them to call us back, or get a straight answer as to what the problem was. It took so long for them to get parts it went in to October at that point we were contacted and told we would have to pay for storage because they are not responsible for the boat freezing. It cost more to fix the boat then what we boat it for. Owner would not take our calls when I wanted to express my dissatisfaction. The customer service was horrible and the whole experience will make me never do business with them again.

Review: We purchased a Newman brand pontoon lift that is still under warranty. A cable broke last October and it didn't get repaired until the end of May 2014. This was after NUMEROUS calls and conversations with owners, managers etc of both Liink & Newmans. The cable on the opposite side of the lift broke early July 2014. I again made calls to Link and Newmans. They never followed through with getting the cable, setting up a service call etc. We had to get the cable repaired since our pontoon was sitting in the water and was being damaged by the large waves and weather, We called a local repair company and they fixed the cable within a week. The repair was completed on August 8 at a cost of $366.03.

I called Link Rec.on Aug 11 and spoke to [redacted] again to see where he was at with my repair. Of course, I get the same run around. I am told the cable has been ordered ( as usual). I advised him that I had to get this fixed and I contacted the local Shorelander dealer & he was able to fix a Newman lift within a week. I told him I expect to reimbursed for all costs either via Link Rec or Newman. I sent him an email stating this and to forward the email to Newman. I gave them a deadline of August 31 2014 or I would report both businesses to the Revdex.com.

Newman is located in MN, Link Rec is in WI.The contact info I have is: [redacted] at Link Rec ###-###-####. [redacted] at Newman ###-###-####. [redacted] never returned any of my calls.Desired Settlement: The ultimate outcome would be for Link to allow me to return the lift since it is of substandard quality & will be a maintenance problem forever.

The minimum I expect is to be reimbursed for the $366.03 that I paid to have to lift repaired again.

I am in receipt of the complaint which we take very seriously. Link thru [redacted] contacted Newmans as the warranty is from Newmans the manufacturer and the dealer Link files the claim. Newmans has been non responsive. I personally have sent the complaint to the President [redacted] and our sales rep and the emails have come back not deliverable in addition when calling company a recording comes on company is closed. I will continue to try to get hold of Newmans for Mrs [redacted] The lift was purchased June 2011 and the Newmans warranty period for cables is two years while the frame is 10 years. The cable warranty has expired however we will continue to try to get Newmans to give a response to Mrs [redacted]
