Review: Entered into an expensive web site building contract with Link Web Services, including a small ownership percentage of the new website business being created. This seemed like a good idea at the time since Link Web Services would also be handling the server, payment gateway and on-going website maintenance. The invoice was broken into 3 payments with the design work quickly starting after the first payment. From the very beginning with the beginning design work came expensive monthly server and payment gateway license fees. I never understood and never got a clear answer on why such expensive charges needed to start while a website it simply being designed and created. I asked for the charges to stop and they did not stop for over 1 year. Next came second installment payment. The website creation seems to be coming along with substantial Design/Layout/Vocabulary changes happening weekly. These changes were initiated from both Link Web Services and myself, which were mostly cause and effect scenarios. Changes are made, there are errors and inconsistencies (because the designers writing the code are from a foreign country and do not even have English as their first language), and therefore more changes needed to be corrected, so on and so on. Then, Link Web Services asks for final payment. I thought final payment is given when the job is complete and mentioned this. I wanted the project to finish and was the "nice guy" and paid up in advance. More design issues, major inconsistencies, major payment gateway/inventory errors. All of a sudden I am asked to come up with more cash to finish the project. I ask for the files to be handed over so I can find someone else to properly finish the project. Link Web Services states the small ownership percentage mentioned earlier and refuses to hand over the project. The expensive monthly server and payment gateway fees finally stopped because there was no more money left for Link Web Services to suck out of me.Desired Settlement: After having paid Link Web Services over $16,000.00 I would like to have something to show for it, besides the feeling of distrust I have received. Myself and the website business that was being built is now in major debt, so shouldn't the small percentage of ownership that is being used as collateral also bear responsibilities of the debt? I do not have money to take Link Web Services to court and all associated lawyer fees, but I wish I did.

Business

Response:

This project was completed 100% and Link Web Services went above and beyond the contracted details by continuing to add features to the website, features requested by [redacted] and the people he brought in to represent him ([redacted]). Mr. [redacted] continued to delay the project, making promises to get more involved in the project, which he never did, setting meetings with us, which he never attended, and continued to redirect the attention of the project to minor changes he wanted made every time we tried to meet with him to move the project forward.

The original website agreed to on the contract was completed to 100%, the additional features requested were added to the website at no extra cost to Mr. [redacted] as we owned a percentage of the website and we wanted it to succeed. Link Web Services invested thousands of dollars in additional web development hours to make the website the most cutting edge website in it's industry and we were looking forward to taking the website live so it would begin to generate revenue and a return on our investment but Mr. [redacted] refused to ever let the website go live and the website never generated any revenue. Mr. [redacted] abandoned the website three years ago and declined to respond to any of our communications as well as our requests to meet in person to discuss the project going live. Now, three years later, Mr. [redacted] is looking to open a complaint with the Revdex.com to give our company a bad name, even though we did absolutely everything possible to please him and get the website live and making a profit.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

For LinkWebServices to say the website was 100% completed is a bold faced lie. I noticed more dishonesty in the middle of the project when Mr. [redacted]

was attempting to write in endorsements for the website by the #1 Womens

Professional Surfer from Peru, so I wouldn't put anything past him. People need to know that Mr. [redacted], President and CEO of LinkWebServices, will say whatever it takes to get the job and to cover his mistakes. After the deceitful blow of requesting full payment, asking for thousands of dollars more and then holding the project hostage, there is no way I am ever going to collaborate with someone who works like that. And since I am in debt consolidation for the past 2 years and 2 years to come for the loan that I took out to pay for the project, I think about how much I despise LinkWebServices with every bi-weekly payment. Other potential clients should be made aware of what they are in for if they choose to work with [redacted].

My proposal is for LinkWebServices to stop holding the project hostage so that it may be eventually completed by another, more able company. The website goes live, LinkWebServices makes their percentage (with a valid legal contract instead of just a verbal agreement) and everyone can be happy in the end.

Sincerely,
