Company states: We have been out to the consumer's location. The closure of his gate was not working to how it should originally. We were not contracted to do that but we still went out there and poured cement so that drop rod would work to his expectation.

Review: The vertical rods at the closing mechanism of each swing gate for vehicular access does not operate on a consistent basis and/or is not fully functional. The vertical rods in question do not properly engage the openings on the ground that act as a receptacle for the rods. The closing mechanism which allows the rods to rise upward or lower downward should be designed to include permanent metal sleeves (2X) that keep the surrounding ground material from caving inward into the hole thus preventing the rods from properly and completely lowering into the ground in order to engage the swing gate into a closed position. This is a design issue that the company (Linmoore Fencing and Iron Works) needs to resolve. I am surprised and shocked that the company has never encountered this type of condition before. This is a rather common existing condition that the company needs to design around in the same manner that they design posts and attachments that allow for the fence to engage permanently into these posts. In this same manner, the rods need to be designed to properly engage into a permanent receptacle or sleeve that hold the rod into a fully extended position as well as firm up the ground area around the receptacle or sleeve.Desired Settlement: Install properly designed receptacle and/or sleeve to receive vertical rods into a closed position as well as shore up ground area around the receptacle and/or sleeve.
