MAC has been fantastic to work withMy roof is 4,sqftwith many gablesThe work was competed in one dayI did not have to be home during the replacement and there was no debris in the yard when I came homeThe GAF high definition tiles look amazingMy home really shinesMy MAC contact was responsive and helpfulMy experience has been so positive, I have been working with my neighbors to let them know what a great experience this has been

My wife and I were very pleased with the service we received with our roof and gutter replacementNew roof and gutters look greatA special thank-you to our contact Tyler B*** for keeping us updated with the progress and working to resolve any issues that came forth during our repairWork was done in one day! Billing issues were resolved and we were treated very wellCould not be happier

MAC knocked on our door several times in July asking to inspect our roof for hail damage I said no thanks at first But after talking to some neighbors who were getting their roof replaced, I decided to have MAC check my roof out On 8/1/MAC sent Mike Mover to "inspect" the roof All he did was get on a ladder and look from the gutters He was able to see enough hail damage to say we should move forward He asked to come into my house and help me call the insurance company Before we called, he handed me a contract and told me that all the contract states is that 1) I will not have to pay
MAC more than the insurance pays; and 2) If the insurance rejects my claim, I owe MAC nothing I took Mike at his word and signed the contract without reading it thoroughly because it was several pages
long (My first mistake)We called my insurance company to submit a claim, and they scheduled a time to come out Mike then told me that he would give me a $advertising allowance if I allowed MAC to place their sign in my front yard He said that the only requirement is that I keep the sign in my front yard for the duration of the project I shook his hand and said, sure no problem (My second mistake for not getting this agreement in writing) Minutes later, as he's walking out my front door, he says, "Oh yeah, if you could refer some people to us, that would help me out." I said sure I'd be happy toAt the time, I was very happy with Mike, and MAC So I referred friends and neighbor who all thought they might have hail damage I provided Mike's name, phone number, and email addressWhen my insurance adjuster came out for the inspection, he concluded that there was enough hail damage for a complete roof replacement My insurance company provided me an estimate for how much they would pay for a roof replacement I contacted Mike and asked him to provide me an estimate for the roof replacement I had planned on calling a couple other roofers to get quotes as well Mike told me MAC doesn't provide estimates He said I must provide him with the insurance
estimate, and they will do it for whatever that price is I told him I'd rather not handle it that way, and that I'd like to get a few estimates He immediately accused me of insurance fraud, saying that I am looking to get the best offer and pocket the extra money This obviously scared meAt this point, I felt I couldn't move forward with MAC because I was not comfortable working with Mike anymore I decided to look up MAC's social media reviews because I was getting very nervous about what I got myself into I discovered pretty horrible online reviews (My 3rd mistake for not having read their reviews beforehand)I called Mike again and told him that I would still like to get a couple estimates from other roofing companies I told him I'd be more than happy to reimburse him for the time he had invested in me thus
far (trips to my house, for about an hour each visit) Mike told me to read the contract I had signedI read the contract, and sure enough, there is a clause in there saying that if I don't use MAC for any reason, I owe them 50% of what the insurance said they would pay Let me tell you that my roof repair was about a $26,job So I would owe MAC $13,to get out of the contract I signed This is when I learned that I made a mistake by not reading the contract I signed with Mike standing at my side I understand this is my fault, and I have no one to blame but myself Needless to say, I felt entrapped, so I decided my only course of action was to move forward with MAC Mike was pretty rude to me in our email exchange about this, and he brought up the "insurance fraud" threat again At the end of the email exchange, he apologized, said he hoped we can move forward amicably, and offered me a $advertising bonus for the three referrals he knew I already completed and the sign in my yardI reminded him that he had already offered me that previously He said, I know, I'm just reiterating that we'll be giving you a $advertising bonusWe had to make some adjustments to the insurance estimate, and after I had the final insurance estimate, my insurance company sent me a large check for almost $20,000, which covers the bulk of the work minus the depreciation amountMike came to my house to go over color choices He then presented me with another contract that replaces our initial contract This contract lists the total dollar amount, and my color choices, among
other things I obviously read this contract thoroughly this time before signing Mike told me that I had to write a check to MAC for the full amount that I received from the insurance company thus far, which was nearly $20, I pointed out that on the contract he was asking me to sign says, "Maximum deposit limited to 33%", which would be closer to $8, He said he knew it said that, but this was their policy I said I do not feel comfortable giving them that full amount at this point in time because that is about 75% of the total cost He said he would settle for $10,000, which was still over the requirement according to the contract I reluctantly agreed to pay that amount, because it was only marginally over the 33% requirement I asked Mike when the work would begin, he said it should be in about 4-weeks He said once the work began, it should be no longer than a week or two before it was completedAfter about a month, I began asking Mike when the job would begin After a few unanswered emails, Mike responded in November The roof was replaced from 11/17/- 11/19/ After the roof was replaced, the contractors left I called Mike and told him the work wasn't done and asked why the contractors left He explained that there are different crews for different parts of the job and that each
crew would call me a day or two before coming out I was okay with that answer He also told me the work should be completed in a couple more weeksAs an aside, there were some leftover materials, including sheets of plywood, sitting on my front lawn after the roof was complete I was told they would be picked up the next day I had to email Mike
several times, and about weeks later they were finally picked upI have dead grass from where the sheets of plywood were lying I'll take care of that in the springOn 12/8/2016, a crew showed up to replace our gutters I had no idea they were coming because they never called to let us know I was a little upset about the lack of coordination, but they replaced the
gutters pretty quickly and leftAt this point, the remaining work is some trim work on my front porch and replacing a copper roof on a bump-out in our house On 12/8/2016, after telling Mike that the gutters were complete, I asked him when the trimwork and copper roof would be completed Mike told me that they were going to drop the trimwork from the job because they lost their "stucco guy." I informed him that my insurance company paid a significant amount of money for MAC to act as a General Contractor, which paid them Overhead and Profit to coordinate the multiple trades required for the job I was getting nowhere with talking to Mike He insisted that they were not going to repair the trimmwork I called my insurance agent to ask him his thoughts, because I would now have to go out on my own to find someone to repair the trimwork My insurance agent said, no, MAC must find someone to do the work, even if they have to subcontract it out, because they are being paid as a General Contractor The insurance agent said that if MAC didn't do the work, the insurance would not pay MAC the overhead and profit for the job, because if it was just roof and gutters, a general contractor isn't required I informed Mike He called me and went off on me and told me not to call the insurance agent and spin him up again The way I see it, is this is MY insurance agent, who is here to help ME through this process Mike then said he would find someone to do the trimwork At some point during our argument, Mike reminded me about the fact that I tried to commit "insurance fraud" at one point He seems likes to do this occasionally to threaten me I called Mike on the phone to try to smooth this out so we could finish the job amicably He seemed receptive and agreed to move on and leave the past in the pastOn 12/21/2016, I received a Certificate of Completion from MAC stating that all insurance work was completed as of 12/19/ I was asked to sign the certificate and mail it back to MAC I emailed Mike and asked why they sent the certificate when the job wasn't complete His response: "So you have it when everything is done." I reminded him that we still have trimwork to fix and a copper roof to replaceFast forward to January Finally someone came out to fix the trimwork Now just waiting on the copper roofOn 1/19/2017, I received an email from Mike stating, "We have not received the customer completion form Have you sent it back yet All of the insurance work was completed last week." At this point, I
lost it, and was a bit rude to Mike in my response He didn't back down and was equally as rude back to me And of course, he reminded me that I tried to commit "insurance fraud" at the beginning of this process I told him I thought we had moved past that I told him that the copper roof hasn't been replaced yet, and I don't feel comfortable signing a form stating that the work is complete until the work is actually complete He pushed me hard to sign the form over the course of several emails I held my ground this time and said I'm not signing the completion form until the work is actually complete (I wasn't about to let him bully me into signing another item until I felt comfortable signing it)On the same day, Mike sent a second email that I would not be receiving my $advertising bonus because "you still [have] not provided referrals as part of the advertising creditThese are a requirement as well as a positive social media review as you agreed to when we started." Okaywait a minute This is the first time he ever said anything about a social media review Also, he told me that none of my referrals called him, and that the requirement is that they all call him Either way, the referrals were an after-thought from our first meeting At that time, the only requirement I had to earn the $advertising bonus was to keep the MAC sign in my yard for the duration of the project I've had that MAC sign up in my yard for months at this point! It's blown over several times, and I always put it back up We continued to go back and forth over email I explained that this is a new requirement (requiring a positive social media review) I also explained that the referrals were not required, but I did it anyway He now said the referrals had to call him or they don't count, and that both the referrals and a positive social media review are required for the advertising bonus Again, he mentioned the insurance fraudhe loves to use that as a trump card Even though I never committed
insurance fraud, or even had any intent to (If anything, him telling me to sign a form stating the work is complete, when it clearly isn't complete, is insurance fraud!!!)
The saga continuesthe job is still not complete We are told the copper roof will be installed next Monday, we'll see And I have now lost my $advertising bonus because he changed the requirements in the 11th hour, even though I've had that darn MAC sign in my front lawn for half a year!!!! I took the sign down today I actually wasn't planning on leaving any social media reviews The thought hadn't crossed my mind But once he told me I must leave a positive social media review, or else I wouldn't get the $advertising bonus we had previously agreed to, I decided to go ahead and spend hours of my time typing this up I hope nobody has to go through what I've gone through with MAC For a $26,job, I've been treated horribly Honestly, it shouldn't matter if this is a $1,job or a $26,job Customer service should be #1!
The job is not complete yet It's been almost months We'll see how it goes from here I'm guessing it will get worse for me since I left this reviewIf someone higher up in the chain at MAC would like to see the email exchanges I've had with Mike, I'd be more than happy to share them I have them all saved I believe he could benefit from some customer service training, and possibly some anger management trainingI left lots of details out, but this review is already too long

I had my roof replaced by MACThe customer service is amazingAlthough it took a bit longer for MAC to install my roofI am very satisfied with the results

If we were contracted for the widows walk it would have been listed in the contract we sent youWe also forwarded the copy of the email between us and the original homeowner along with a letter from her all substantiating the fact that the widows walk was not in the original contractAlong with that contractI you desire there documentation from the carrier you must get it from themWe cannot give you their insurance carrier paperworkAgain you need to get that from the previous ownersIF it considers the matter resolved we will extend the balance of their warranty, as a courtesyWe will also provide an estimate for the replacement of the widows walk.WE will also inspect the work done in Again, to be clear please contact the former owner if you want their insurance carrier scopeWhat is on our contract is what we are responsible for no more no lessWe will only agree to these additional considerations for you that is outside our responsibilities only if it considers the matter closed once and for all

Had this project manager by the name of Tyler G. Come to my house. He explained that there hail damaged on a lot of houses in our area. Told him that he can go ahead and inspect the house but I was not foing to sign anything.. After this point he got irritated and said... " well okay then... I will not do a thorough inspection" . .. At that point I knew that he was not going to inspect thoroughly.... After five minutes of pretending to inspect... He knocks on my door again... And says... " well, I did an inspection and I didnt see any hail damage enough for the insurance to pay for it"""... At this point I asked him to repeat what he said and patted his shoulders .. Told him he was lying and did not do an inspection because I already had an insurance adjuster come to my house and insurance approved the eoof damaged. So this guy is a complete liar and untrustworthy... Dont do business with them... Also aftet I patted his shoulders, he told me not to touch him... Because he was furious that I tols him he was not doing a good job and was a bad rep for his company.

I am so sorry this has been an unpleasant experience for [redacted]. After doing an exhaustive review of his complaint and contacting the previous owner who was the individual we contracted with for the residence at [redacted]...

Oakhill/herdon V.A. we are happy to clear up any misunderstandings about the residual warranties and or repairs. Mid Atlantic Construction of Va was contracted for the replacement of a 4800 sq ft roof due to hail damage  that occurred on 5-14-2010. This contract was for the shingle portion of the roof alone excluding the widows walk. Our work at the time carried a ten year non-transferable warranty on labor and a thirty year one time transferable warranty on shingle materials provided by the manufacturer ([redacted]).We were contacted on July 14, 2015 at 1:45 Pm by [redacted] via email about transferring the warranty the new homeowner we agreed to do a courtesy transfer of a two year warranty to the new homeowner out of appreciation to our client. When we pulled the agreement to do the transfer, [redacted] was reminded on July 15, 2015 at 11:45 am that we were not contracted for the widows walk at the peak of the roof. [redacted] acknowledged this fact in an email included in this response. [redacted] was given a detailed instruction list on how to transfer her material warranty and we happily transferred the two year labor warranty. Mr Damu Kothandan asked us to come out on a warranty matter stating he had a leak. We responded promptly went out to the property identified the leak as tear in the widows walk where the brackets that attached the railing to the flat portion of the rubber roof were leaking we did $600.00 patch repair for the client for which we did not bill him for and informed him that eventually he would need to replace the rubber roof. He was unhappy with the fact that we would not replace the rubber roof that we did not do for [redacted] and [redacted] on 3-9-2011. In response we offered him a large discount on the price to replace the rubber roof at that point he indicated he would get back to us. [redacted] was present and saw the sources of the leaks but yet he persisted on that it should be replaced by us at no cost . He insisted that we release our clients insurance info as well as other documents. We told [redacted] that we need permission from our client to release that info, seeing as it contained information that also related to [redacted] banking information. We are more than happy to meet with [redacted] to resolve any of these issues and hopefully repair the rocky start to this relationship. I did contact [redacted] she did authorize me to release the original contract, emails between us and her, and  a letter she wrote to respond to this situation, but she did not authorize her insurance paperwork to be released, seeing as it has personal information on it. We are happy to send out another team to inspect for any further failures of the roof and inspect the entire roof again at no cost. We are also open to sitting down with [redacted]  and trying to find a resolution for him. We hope this documentation helps clear up any confusion on what Mid Atlantic Construction of VA was contracted for and gives [redacted] the answers he was looking for.

Recently, siding and gutters/down-spouts were replaced by Mid Atlantic Construction of VA, Inc on my home. Through contract writing by tech Tyler, to work completion by MAC's workers, I am extremely satisfied with its performance and execution....a very reputable company that I would recommend. Thanks MAC.

Constant harassment from door to door sales. Harassment complaints filled with local sheriff dept. after several calls to company directly did not stop solicitors. Each solicitor told to stop and no change yet. Awaiting results from Sheriff Dept.
