needed for inspection and also asked if she had her 120K service complete. She said she was not sure, her father gave her the car and she would check to let me know if it was completed. I told her I would let her know what needs to be done for the 120K service but in the meantime “would you like me to do the work required for inspection?” She said yes. She needed the driver side wiper blade it was torn, the left front bumper cover was hanging off. You are not allowed to have any sharp or protruding edge?.  Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:His response is full of blatant lies and I have 3 screenshots to back me up. Please see the points below, including my call log and email history which proves that he is lying (especially about me just showing up at the shop without him telling me the car isn't done.) I have attached the 3 screenshots and also hosted them online so you can refer to them throughout my response below.1. He didn't ask me if I wanted to do the work required for the inspection. He asked what I wanted to do, and I said "go get me an estimate." Why would I ask for a quote when I came to pick up the car? The whole point of getting a quote is to know what a service will cost BEFORE you go to pick up the car and pay. I would never, ever get ANY work done without knowing a ballpark price first. 2. The front bumper was not hanging off. Again, this car has passed 5-6 inspections regularly and there have been no changes to the state of the bumper. See call log below to [redacted] asking if it was a problem - if it was a problem I would have duct taped or zip tied the bumper myself to pass inspection long ago! Furthermore, he justifies the cost (over $100) by saying that he fixed the splash guards as well - this was never discussed and he never mentioned it until I asked why zip tying a bumper cover was so much money.3. Don's last paragraph is 100% wrong. Please see the screenshot of my call log here: [redacted]You will see a series of calls from Lionville Car Care (Don P[redacted]' shop). Here is a run-down of each call. 9:28 am: Don calls me to ask if the car had the 120k maintenance done and tell me that he wanted to do this laundry list of service. I said no, don't do anything, I'll check to see what's already been done first, but please get me an estimate before doing anything. That way, if work WAS done, I don't need to pay for it twice.9:44 am: I call the Exton [redacted] store where the car was previously serviced to ask about its service history. I then wait, expecting Don to call back with an estimate. I assumed that the long wait was because he was busy with other vehicles. 12:08 pm: Don calls me to tell me that my car is done. He says he already did all the work except the 120k inspection (quoting me $500 for that - [redacted] charges $165, so clearly this is a place happy to rip off customers). I ask why I didn't get an estimate and he says he thought that I would want him to just do it, so he did. Please see this email to my dad directly after receiving this call: [redacted]  You may also see my [redacted] messages to my boyfriend after the call here: [redacted]
After these calls, you can see another phone call to [redacted] asking for details on what is necessary for passing inspection, at which point I learned that the $104 bumper cover repair was 100% unnecessary. I then call Lionville back asking for a refund and was refused. And at no point did I say I was "pretty and blonde." That's like a line out of a terrible 80's sitcom. At the end of the phone call right before 6pm I said that it's obvious he's taking advantage of me. If he attributes taking advantage of someone with them being blonde (true) and pretty (maybe), that's his problem. However, please feel free to thank Don for the compliment for me. While I'm pleased to know that I made an impression for being "pretty", 'm pretty sure he is older than my father and that is really creepy!I hope that these screenshots and my response help you see that Don is lying through is teeth to cover his own butt. I'm not asking for a refund for the brake light bulb or the inspection itself, or the oil change, because those were actually necessary. I am being incredibly reasonable by only asking for the bumper cover charges to be refunded. Please feel free to call me at ###-###-#### if there is any other evidence you would like to see or information you'd like to know.
Regards,
[redacted]
