This client booked us less than month prior to her event date95% of our clients never even have any face to face contact with us until the day of their eventThis client demanded multiple in-person consultations, far more than what we would normally do, but it was our intention to do what we could to meet her excessive needs Originally this client tried to tell us they only got uplightsThe photos provided to us proved that this was not trueThe photos also showed only ½ of the roomThe uplights she wanted behind the head table would not have been visibleIn our dealings with this complaint the client has changed her story multiple timesThis client also indicated that her sister attempted to contact us the day after the eventThis is untrueEven if she had we would not have been able to discuss our contract with her sisterAll of our clients are provided a phone number for the supervisor on the day of the event in case there are any issues that they cannot resolve with the DJThis client did not attempt to contact us until months after the event took place, nor did the client communicate any issues to the DJ during the event When I was contacted by the client (months after the event) I did in fact apologizeWhen this client came to my office to attempt to get her refund she was belligerently yelling, screaming, and exhibiting behavior that would be considered to be potentially threatening (posture, attitude, etc.) almost to the point that my staff felt her behavior was such that they were ready to contact the policeAt one point she stated that she would refuse to leave the premises unless we gave her a full refund for the entire contractWe do note however, that her husband remained very calm and respectfulShe was not Our contract shows the following ORIGINAL prices hours of dance music $ Head table uplighting $ Monogram $ hours of Dinner music $ uplights $ TOTAL PRICE $ Discounts $ Final Price $ We gave this client a massive discountThey are asking for a full price refund on the monogram not the actual price, and far more than the actual charged price for the uplights that were not placedThe $we offered reflects the ACTUAL price paid for the services As for us asking for a non-disparagement agreement, this is not uncommon in our industry and and we feel it is certainly not unreasonable especially when we are dealing with someone who is highly emotional and may try to further harm our business Jamie [redacted] Manager Midwest Sound- Indy location 317-429- www.midwestsoundin.com
