Lisa Christenbury Heating & Cooling Reviews (1)

Lise Christenbury Heating & Cooling, LLC deliberately left the A/C freon system open to generate another service call after there first visit. Christenbury heating was called initially by my tenant b/c the A/C system was not turning on. The tenant stated he asked them to check the freon and they stated it was fine. The problem turned out to be a burnt wire to the compressor on 7/25/14 is the date they were called. invoice # [redacted] dated 7/30/14. On 8/28/14 I received a text from the same tenant indicating the A/C is acting up again. I called another service person from another company and he stated the freon had leaked out on the ground and it needed more freon. 6.5 pounds were added and the values were replaced. I asked this A/C technicians if it was possible for the core valves to start leaking after a recent service visit and I asked another A/C Tech and both stated NO and it is a good practice to recheck the values to make sure they are not leaking after being checked. I called Lisa to discuss this matter, she stated she would check her notes to see if they checked the freon. I never heard back after leaving 3 messages after our initial conversation. My tenant indicated he was 99% sure they checked the freon which makes them liable. Desired SettlementI would like to be reimbursed the $460 spent to have the AC recharged with 6.5 pounds of freon and for replacing the core values.I think this act was deliberate to generate more business or Lisa would have called me back to discuss a settlement as a responsible business person should. I also think this incident should go on their record in case they try this again. Business Response Contact Name and Title: Lisa C. [redacted], OwnerI received a call from [redacted], the tenant of [redacted], on 7/25/14. He stated that the A/C had been working fine but now the compressor was not coming on. He had determined this by talking to the person whom usually works on the system, but he was not available to work on the A/C at this time. Upon arrival we turned the A/C on and determined we had power to the compressor but it was not coming on. We checked the wiring at the compressor terminals and found the wires were burnt at those connections. [redacted] said he had to go back to work and asked if we could make the repair without going into the house. I told him we could but we would not be able to check the operation of the A/C other than to confirm that the compressor was coming on. He said it had been cooling fine until the compressor quit so he would call back if there were any other problems. I spoke to [redacted] again on 7/30/14 when I faxed him the invoice. He said the A/C was working fine and he would send the invoice to his landlord, [redacted]. I had not received payment as of 8/22/14. I spoke to [redacted] and emailed him a copy of the invoice on 8/22/14. I received payment in full on 9/2/14. I received a phone call from [redacted] on 9/3/14 stating that another company had been out to check the A/C and found it was low in refrigerant. He asked then if I had done something to cause the refrigerant to leak out. I told him that I would look at my notes, but I did not think I had put gauges on the system. The A/C is 24 years old and when [redacted] said it had been cooling fine, and that someone else usually works on the system, I made the necessary repair to get the A/C running as he requested and we had agreed upon. I am still inclined to believe that I did not put gauges on the system as I would have recorded the pressures and temperatures on the gauges as well as the outside and inside temperatures which I do not have any record of. Even if I had put gauges on the system, that would not make me liable. The valve cores, evaporator coil, condenser coil and any other connection in the refrigeration circuit could develop a leak at any time. The A/C in question is a Tempstar A/C condenser manufactured in 1990. I would also like to bring to your attention that the factory charge on the system is 79 ounces of R-22 which calculates to less than 5 pounds of R-22 refrigerant. If the current technician charged the system with 6 1/2 pounds of refrigerant then the system is most likely overcharged. I repaired the A/C on 7/25/14. the system operated properly for over a month. I did not return Mr. [redacted] phone calls because I did not appreciate the accusations that were being made against me and I did not care to entertain the false accusations that were being made against me. I would NEVER deliberately do something to create another service call to generate more work. I believe that I have an outstanding reputation that generates business without me having to create work to do.Consumer Response Lise Christenbury Heating & Cooling, LLC information is incorrect. The AC is not 24 years old for the mobile home is only 9 years old. I have never had any issues with leaking freon until Christenbury heating tampered with the system. [redacted] the tenant stated he was 99% sure they checked the freon. He stated to me he told them he thought the system was out of freon and saw the meter to check the system laying on the ground. If the valves were leaking prior to their visit they would have pointed that out. As Ms [redacted] stated the AC was working fine until their visit. The service guy who replaced the freon indicated the freon leaked out on the ground at the valve core, which is the same place the freon was checked. I was informed by this service tech and by another professional the valve core just don't start leaking on their own...how ironic in less than 30 days the freon completely leaked out...which points too Lise Christenbury Heating & Cooling negligence. Regardless of how many pounds of R-22 refrigerant the system holds I paid the service tech $460.00 which is still the amount I'm looking to be reimbursed. Also for the record Ms [redacted] stated she would check her records and call me back. Afterward of leaving several messages and not hearing back is when I indicated this act was deliberated. If this matter isn't resolved my next complaint will be with the[redacted]Final Business Response I would like to request that Mr. [redacted] send a copy of the invoice for the $ 460.00 repair that was made. Thank You, Lisa Christenbury [redacted]
