A few months into the process, after the book had been outlined, and the interviews recorded and transcribed, but before the editing, *** asked to pause the project indefinitely for personal reasons, and I agreedAbout a year later, he was ready to resumeIn the interim I'd gotten very busy with other deadline-driven work and also had discovered that the book creation process was much? complicated and time-consuming than I'd originally thought.? After a number of months had passed, and I had not delivered this, *** asked for his deposit backI explained that this was not possible as we'd already spent many, MANY hours? on developing the outline and concept for the book, plus all our meeting and interviewsWe agreed that once I gave him the edited draft -- and I also offered him a reimbursement for $as a courtesy for my own delays--? that he would take it from thereBut I will admit that his project kept falling off my radar due to more pressing deadlines from current clientsThat is when he finally contacted you.Which brings us to todayI emailed *** the draft in progress yesterday, so that he could see what was done and what still needed to be done -- and sent him the $via ***I told him I would still finish the draft if he'd have a bit of patienceI also offered the option of hiring someone else to do it for a few hundred dollars-- but I had doubts that a stranger would be able to follow our work; otherwise I would have gone that route a long time agoHe agreed and wants me to finish the draft, which makes me think he likes what he has seen of what I've done so far.? Now it's up to me to keep my word and get the initial draft done, which I estimate will take me a good 10-hours at leastI'm setting up a schedule to make that happen.That's the status today!? ?
