Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/08/31) */
Our company did go look at this customers issue with his concreteWe discussed the issue with the sub contractor who performed the workThe sub contractor contacted his concrete supplier who in turn said there is no warranty for the spalling
he was experiencingThey also said the spalling was most likely caused by the customer using improper ice melt products on the concrete or parking vehicles on the concrete which dripped ice melt type products onto the concrete
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/09/01) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
First: The concrete supplier was NOT contacted because the sub-contractor had no records of who he used, and could not even rememberLBC speculated maybe Knife River and they came by and talked to me, ...said they were not the ones to pour the job and I agree, it was not one of their trucksLast discussion with LBC / sub-contractor they speculated the company used may have gone out of business
Second: The fact that I have never used 'ice melt products' and esp the degree of spalling, its location on the driveway, and the continuing deterioration after each freeze/thaw cycle rules out "improper ice melt products"My cars simply aren't parked to where they drip in that area! The most important thing here is the continual put-off of this problem on the concrete company or sub-contractorWhen one hires a general contractor and THEY select their subs and sources, they must stand behind the inadequaciesIn this case, LBC refuses to accept responsibility and places blame on a phantom concrete supplierMy check didn't bounce, the payment was 100%I honored my part of the contract, time for LBC to step up and honor theirs
