Billed for service that was not provided to satisfaction.

I was billed, and paid in advance $1000 for legal "on-call assistance" for home loan modification process. This included 5 phone or email conversations with a loss mitigator. It was not made clear who our loss mitigator was, though I thought we were to be dealing with Lori [redacted], whom we'd made arrangements with. Each time I contacted [redacted], I was replied to by a different person, often with no familiarity with our case, without providing any information on who they were, what their qualifications were, and whether they had consulted with Ms. [redacted]. There were a total of 5 exchanges (either by phone or email) which [redacted] describes in their disengagement letter as advice, though no useful information was provided. A check in the amount of $250 was issued "in the interest of superior customer service" when I requested a refund for the $1000 fee for the on-call service. While I acknowledge that some time was spent by [redacted] on the "on call" portion of service, I am dissatisfied with a refund of only 25% of this fee, and feel that 75% is a more appropriate refund.
