Lithia Reno Subaru Reviews (9)

I am a recent college graduate from Reno NVI bought my Subaru Forester xt + extended warranty from Lithia Subaru Reno in July of this yearWe worked out a loan for 14,000$ roughly with a two year warranty, which seemed to promise a smooth process that would put me on the road in my second vehicle
They held my Forster for a week to perform under the hood work + a full detailWhen I received the vehicle the interior was extremely filthy; plastic and cloth surfaces were covered in grease and dirtI returned the vehicle to complain and they cleaned it for meHowever this was only the beginning to the inconvenience and stress this company has caused me
I also purchased a life time service of oil changes through LithiaThey performed an oil change for me during this maintenance week but did not place a mileage sticker in my vehicle to let me know when my next visit should beThis is a familiar service that every company I've visited provides, one that has helped me regularly maintain my previous and first vehicle, a ford escort I would have this vehicle serviced every three to five months with the help of my mechanics
Three months passed by with my "new" used vehicle as I scrambled for direction after college and I noticed there was no mileage sticker in my vehicleI wasn't sure what my vehicles mileage range was; no car manual had been provided when I bought the vehicle but I knew it was time to be servicedI checked my oil, it was very low so I topped it off, and planned to bring the vehicle to Lithia the very next day
The vehicle was working fine at this point but I wanted to have the oil changed regardlessAs I drove my car in, it broke down on the freeway mere exits away NO LIGHTS CAME ONLithia informed me first that the break down was due to the engine running out of oilThis was not the case, so they followed that the cause was either due to lack of maintenance or engine problems and at first wanted me to pay 780$ total to see if my extended warranty would cover what turned out to be a broken engineMy deductible for the warranty is only 250$This irked me and I told them so and thankfully they were able to help me with the price for the costly inspectionNow I owe them 520$ for this inspection + the initial diagnostics
They claimed that lack of maintenance has caused the denial of my warranty and asked me why I didn't bring my vehicle in soonerYet when I asked them why my vehicles warning lights did not work, why they were unable to inform me of my mileage time frame after it's original oil change, and why I was not at least provided with an owners manual they literally replied with as follows "we do not have an answer for you and we're sorry this happened, we don't know why it happened..."
Well Lithia is sorry and I have a broken motorI am aware that I am responsible for my vehicle but I am no expert in this field and neither is my single parent mother who raised meI find reassurance that my vehicle will be maintained from depending on the professionalism and accountability of the company I take it toI have never had this issue before because of this reliabilityBut this unprofessional practice I've experienced with Lithia has left me distraughtI have a new vehicle, with a worthless engine, with an unusable warranty and a hefty loan that I still have to pay for
I feel like I'm being taken advantage of by this companyI'll be facing 5000-6000$ in costs to replace my engine on top of what I still owe Lithia; 1600$ roughly for a warranty that won't apply to a new engine, and 849$ for my oil service plan that doesn't include mileage indicators or a notice plan of any typeThey did lower my final cost to 390$ for the warranty diagnostics as a courtesy
I still do not know why my engine failed, why no warning lights came on, why Lithias service plan is no service, and why I have a new vehicle that is totally uselessI've attempted to contact their company many times to see what their inspector found when they tore down my engineBut they refuse to return my callsI have discovered that not all of my vehicle parts were returned when I removed my car from their lot, and they continue to evade meIt is not right to treat people this way

Was in Process of Purchasing a 2007 ford focus the car was taking on a test drive and no safetuy had been done to this vehicle it was first purchased on 2/15/2016 since that time I have had the car 1 day out of all this time do to all this work that has had to be done to the vehicle I have repeatedly askied for my trade in back and have asked for the deal to be unwound. I have contacted the finance company who is handling this and they have agreed with me that the car lot should just give me back my 500.00 that was put down on this vehicle and my trade in which was a 1995 Ford Explorer everytime we have been to the lot it is something new each time . The car was supposedly detailed and yet my step son opened the trunk and found a spoon anda syringe inside the 2007 ford focus all I want is my for the dealearship to return my 1995 Ford Explorer to me along with my 500.00 that was put on my credit card. I do Not have insurance on the ford Focus and will not be putting it on the focus at any point in timeProduct_Or_Service: 2007Desired SettlementI want my $500.00 and my 1995 Ford Explorer Returned to me I do not have coverage on the 2007 ford Focus and will not put insurance on it. I would like my car and the 500.00 that I put on my credit card returned.Business Response hI...I BELIEVE THEY ARE VERY HAPPY. tHANK YOUConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)do I have the said vehicle no I do not still in there shop it's one thing or another and I feel that I am just getting a run around I would like my 500 back and my 1995 ford explorer I am not happy by any circumstances nor will I be I think they have lied about many things and I feel if you have to have a car this long to fix for 1 I don't want the car so with that being said I would like the 500 down that I put plus my 1995 ford Explorer back and then I will be happy.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)still waiting for the return of my 500.00 down Payment have not recevied it as of yet.Final Business Response Good Day...As I explained to [redacted] we have cancelled his car deal and credited back his $500 down payment. He should be able to verify this credit with his credit card company in the next few days. Should he have any more questions he can call me directly at any time. Thank you

I am 20 years old and a first time car buyer I went to Lithia Reno Subaru in Reno, Nevada on 1/24/14 to buy a Subaru Forester. I put a down payment of $2000.00 on one of my cards from my bank of [redacted] and I put another $1000.00 on another card from my [redacted]. I signed a contract to pay $521.00 and some odd change for 7 years. I didn't get a copy of that contract as Lithia Reno Subaru told me to come back the next day on Saturday January 25th of 2014 as they had to do a thorough check on my 2014 Subaru Forester in order to ensure that everything was okay. I returned when told to and was informed that instead of the $3000.00 down payment which they told me was fine the day before was apparently not enough, and they wanted more money or a cosigner. I told them I had neither and that the contract that I signed was all I could do. They said they would not release my money, and to date they still have not released it to me. I plan on going to my bank today, 1/28/2014 and stop payment as I don't have the vehicle and I don't have my money back. Lithia Reno Subaru tried to tell me they would drop the price by $6000.00, and payments would be dropped to $439.00 with full warranty or $399.00 without warranty. I told them that I no longer wished to do business with them as their business practices, and trying to trick me into signing a new contract is not something I will deal with anymore. I am very dissatisfied with the service that I received there and will not do business with them in the future, and I will not recommend them to anyone. This is my first experience with buying a vehicle and I hope no one ever has to deal with this in the way that I have had to. They tried to tell me that I had to sign a different contract or was struck with the first contract even though I told them I had no more money to contribute or had no cosigner.Desired SettlementI would like my money of $3000.00 back on my cards or in my account. Business Response Good Morning...as I previously stated we fullfilled our professional obligation as evidenced by both of our signed agreements. Customer is able to call me at anytime to discuss and review as our goal is to always have happy customers. Thank you [redacted]

Does not fill the oil all the way. After oil change, the marker does not even show that there is oil.I have a life time oil change service with lithia. I have been going to Lithia Subaru to get my subaru Impreza serviced. For the past 6 to 7 times I felt like they were skimping on oil. My cars oil light even came and I added oil and it went away. I mentioned it to the service people but they told me they just changed the oil and it will be alright. After that the oil light came every time after the oil change in 2 months time. I had to add my own oil each time it came up. Also I was wondering if there was any leak and I even got it checked but they said everything was alright. This time instead of getting the oil changed at Lithia Subaru I went to Lithia VW and the engine light didnot came up and I can actually see the oil using the stick. This is just wrong that they will skimp on oil like this. This could have caused a lot of problems in future for me.Desired SettlementIf they cannot give the life time oil changes they should never sell it. Its just wrong that they do this way. I had a check engine light on my vehicle. The code was a very generic transmission code, so I had the code read and diagnosed in more detail at several places, including a transmission speciality shop. The transmission shop thought it was actually a problem with the onboard computer and not the transmission at all.I took my information to the dealership and asked if they could run a diagnostic check. They did a check and came up with the exact same generic check engine light code I had provided to them. (The same diagnosis could have been obtained for free at a generic auto parts store, but I was charged $75.)Desired SettlementRefund the $75.Business Response Hi...We provided a service that the customer requested and in providing this service we have to pay the technician. That is why we charge the fee. Thank you. randyConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I understand that you need to pay the tech, but the requested service was not performed.Final Business Response Hi...Customer asked us to provide this service and was aware and signed for all charges. Thank youPlease see supporting document online.

Subaru, paint and body has now had my car under repairs for 3 and a half weeks, on my 4th week, they gave me back my car at 2 weeks, and the repairs were not complete and the car had more scratches and dents in it that wasn't made by the Tree that fell on my car from the begining, I have been told for three days that it will be done tomorrrow, and tomorrow never comes. they are damaging my car more everytime I see it, and this time they are telling me they dont want to rush it and it will be done when it gets done. my car was purchased brand new on April 4 of 2014. they also ruined the interior of the car while it was in for repairs. They also are using my car as a "table" and dragging "stuff" off of my car and did long scratches on the hood. at the begining of this "experience" they said that it would take 3 to 4 days to repair. yes DAYS. I have been stressed unable to sleep, eat and worried about the cost of the repairs.Product_Or_Service: subaru paint and bodyDesired SettlementIf the Car isn't done, and finished as they say, "before the car was hit by the tree" and looks the same way at pick up, they need to replace the car in its intirity, beings they are the ones that have made all of the other issues and scratches, and interior of the car that they damaged when fixing the car. I am tired of hearing the "it will take another day" Business Response We have addressed all the complaints with the repair and any additional damages found. To date we have replaced the driver seat leather, Quarter glass with tint, black out tape on the doors and repainted those areas of concern. In addition the rear window tint , rear bumper and scratches that required buff are in resolution .

We, my husband [redacted] and I, viewed a used Saturn on the Lithia Reno Subaru dealerships website on Friday, April 11th, 2014 and went to the lot to see the vehicle. We left after viewing the car.We then went home and submitted an offer on the used white, 2002 Saturn SL 4 door sedan via Email. The offer was accepted via an email sent at 1617 and then again verbally over the phone at approx 1940 by [redacted]. An appointment was scheduled to pick up the car, confirmed by both [redacted]'s phone call and an Email. When we arrived we were informed by [redacted] that the vehicle was sold earlier that (Sat. April 12, 2014) morning to another buyer. Then [redacted] mentioned that there was no deposit placed, yet nothing was mentioned in the emails or when we spoke on the phone about a deposit to hold it. We were under the impression this vehicle was being held for us, that is was our's/sold, until our scheduled appointment the following morning. If we had known otherwise we would have gone and purchased the vehicle immediately after our phone conversation with [redacted] the previous evening instead of waiting until morning and the appointed time.Desired SettlementI would like a comparable used vehicle with comparable miles for the same price agreed upon for the used Saturn. I would also like the option to accept or reject any vehicles offered by the dealership.Business Response Good Morning...It would be our pleasure to sell them a like vehicle at a very good discounted price. Thank you

This is a bait and switch scam. Here is the link:http://www.lithiasubarureno.com/used/Lincoln/2001-Lincoln-Navigator-Reno-NV... is a vehicle that is advertised for sale. The dealership first told me it was sold, then told me it was still on the lot, but that due to mechanical issues, it could not be sold to me. The vehicle is still listed for sale, despite the dealership's refusal to sell it.Desired SettlementI would like the dealership to honor their advertisements or remove all false advertisements. This is a bait and switch, designed to generate traffic on their lot. They have no intentions of selling this vehicle to anyone. When patrons arrive to inquire about this vehicle, a salesperson tells you the vehicle is either sold or not in good working order for sale, hoping to sell you something much more expensive.Business Response First of all we would like to apologize for any inconvenience we caused. I already have spoken to the costumers wife and told her what happened . She called and asked why we have the car advertised and it's not available. I have informed her that the car needs a lot of repairs and that we won't be able to retail this vehicle. I have proof of text messages back and forth with costumers wife( [redacted]) . I asked her if they would be interested in anything else and if yes what are the requirements. We did everything we can to accommodate them . Unfortunately we couldn't find a vehicle that fits their needs . We found out about the repairs a couple days before . We didn't want to sell a bad car to them. Thank you ! Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The vehicle is STILL being advertised for sale, continuing to lure in unsuspecting potential buyers. If the vehicle is NOT for sale, then why is it listed for sale other than a bait and switch?Final Business Response Hi...We are more than happy to discuss in person and as always look forward to having a good relationship with all customers. Thank you. [redacted]Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Please do not refer to me as a customer. I will never do business with Lithia ever again, despite having purchased a vehicle at this dealership in the past. Thank you for making my decision easier.

Went in with a radiator problem, got inspection done to find out issue. The dealer said the issue was, it needed a new radiator cap and the car is good to go. 400 miles later both head gaskets blew on the car, they blew because a hose coming form the radiator blew off. In my opinion good to go should last longer than 400 miles.Product_Or_Service: vehicle inspection Desired SettlementThe solution I desire is the dealership paying me the equivalent of what they would charge for this repair. I don't want the dealership to do the work after this experience, I want the work done right and done once. Business Response [redacted] came in on 9/24 indicated he was selling the car and wanted an inspection. We offer two inspections, a visual for $125 and a more in depth for $250. [redacted] opted for the $125 inspection. During the visual inspection we found a bad radiator cap and replaced it and included the replacement in the price of the visual inspection. No visual concerns were found with the radiator or the radiator hoses. We have no idea why the radiator hose would blow off, that would require a more in depth diagnosis. [redacted] indicated to us that he drove the car for 400 miles after the inspection, if the car overheated due to a lack of coolant, it may cause the head gaskets to fail. Again, we were authorized to perform a visual inspection only and saw no problems with the radiator or radiator hoses at that time.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I came in requesting the radiator get checked out because it was leaking and then decided to do the inspection. The cap was supposed to fix the problem and keep all the coolant in the radiator, which it did not. Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)if the problem was caused by no radiator fluid. why wasn't it topped off with the service?Final Business Response If the radiator did not have fluid the vehicle would not have made the 400 miles the customer indicates that he drove the car before it overheated.
