I made lunch to go from this place on February 4 2020. However their food was staled and tasted very bad. We couldn't eat at all. I called the restaurant to complain but the employee's English was very limited so I asked for the owner/manager. The employee said that he was not in. After work I called again but the owner was still not available. I went back to the restaurant and noticed that she lied. The owner was the cook who I saw at the restaurant when I picked up the food. He was still there when I returned. I suggested the employee to taste their orange chicken. Even the fortune cookie smell so old and bad that when the employee smelled it she wore a frown and apologized.
I returned the food and asked for a refund. The owner came out and took the food back but refused to give the money back.
Product_Or_Service: food
Refund I want to have a full refund.
Regarding the incident described above, the establishment has a sign behind the cash register, on the beverage refrigerator that states "No Refunds". Although this establishment does not exchange or remake food items, there are exceptions of extreme situations.
With this incident, the consumer had returned to the establishment with the original order with about 80% of the food consumed. Confident that the food here has not changed its recipes or quality since it's opening, the staff offered to remake the order for the above consumer. The consumer did not want to except this compromise.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The restaurant owner and the employee are lying in the statement above just like the day the incident happened.
Among two orders, one order wasn't even touched and the other one that I tasted and stop eating because I didn't want to get sick had most of the portion left. They both saw and know it.
Before I returned to the restaurant I called them to complaint and I asked for the owner but the employee said the owner was not in. Later I found out that the owner is the employee's father who was there when I picked up the food and also when I came back later to return it. During phone conversation she never mentioned about their return policy. It cannot be found on their receipt either. After she smelled the fortune cookie that smelled like at least 5 years old and she saw the uneaten food she asked me if I want an exchange. Their food at that time looked even older and dryer. Even if they offered to remake the food I would't want to take a chance to eat because it would have been made out of the same staled and very old ingredients. She finally called the owner who she earlier said was not in. He came out and instead of an apology, he started to yell at me and said "No refund and no exchange!" He took away the food I brought back and went back to his kitchen. When I grab my phone and came back to take picture of the restaurant, they both were talking and laughing with each other.
I am sure that those people who visited the restaurant, have smelled and tasted the food would never come back. The restaurant owner should never use or sell the food made out of expired ingredients. Furthermore their quality of customer service should improve.
