Complaint ID# [redacted] (Little B's Handbook- see termination & children's needs listed below)   To whom it may concern:  Little B's Reply to a parent complaint:                Little B’s Learning Center will promote the...

well-balanced education of each and every child.  Little B’s is a safe, high quality and affordable option for all families in our neighborhood.  Little B’s Learning Center will provide professional, quality care to meet each child’s physical, emotional, social, developmental and educational needs while in our program.  We believe by allowing the child space to grow, to be themselves, to enjoy their time in our center and participate in educational activities, we can provide the best possible care for your child.   Below is copied/pasted from our handbook/contract    GOALS   It is the goal of Little B’s Learning Center to be the best place for your child to be when they can’t be home with their parents!  We will provide a warm, loving, healthy, safe and stimulating environment for your children.  All aspects of the child’s development are considered as their needs are met.  Little B’s will respect culture, economic, religious and political status of each and every family.  We strive to keep parents actively involved in the care of their own children.  We encourage parents to review program plans and participate in their child’s development.  Parents should feel free to contribute their ideas to the program.      TERMINATION  Little B's is a privately-owned, small business. We may terminate a family for any reason- at any time. Some children/families may not be a good fit, disagreement over our policies or if we need the space for full timers.  Part-time/drop in children will be offered a full time spot first, but preferences will always be for full time families.  We may terminate over a child's behaviors, but will follow all behavior/guidance policies first.  Parents who swear or disrespect a staff or child at any time will not be tolerated & immediately dismissed.  Any concerns/signs of abuse will be reported to Social services.      CHILDREN’S NEEDS    Children should be adequately dressed for indoor and outdoor activities daily.  Outerwear should be labeled with the child’s name.  A lost and found is available within Little B’s.  The center will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.  An extra set of clothes must be on hand every day for each child.  All items of clothing must be labeled with the child’s name.  Dirty/wet clothes will be sent home with the children at the end of the day.  All children in diapers/pull-ups will be checked every hour and will be encouraged to try to go to the bathroom.  Parents must furnish extra clothes, diapers, pull-ups and wipes for their own children.  All children will be allowed bathroom breaks as necessary.   Please have shoes for your child at all times     Little B's is a state licensed 4- Star child care center.  We follow national standards set forth to help children grow and succeed as early learners.  When giving a tour, I personally brag about not only our 4-stars, the preschool program and awesome staff but I also show off our huge playground.  As per licensing, Little B's goes outside every day the temps are above 10 degrees.  Our children are busy, active and adventurous.  We encourage playing in the sand, water and being messy.  (It's the best part of being a child!)     This family picked up from the playground after a particularly rainy weekend.  On a Tuesday - sunny/70 degrees.  Our playground was clear of standing water, but the grass was still really "spongy".  I (The Director/owner) personally met the dad at the gate and informed him his kids (ages 4 & 5) were wet, and out of dry clothes (as they didn't send any extras from home) and IF he had brought any dry clothes he was welcome to take them into the center and change them.   As per the complaint- I WAS busy- in ratio on the playground with an assistant teacher & 15 other children.   The 3rd staff was already inside helping a child change.  He left with no further issues. After about an hour and mulitple text messages from the mom, I called the dad back to see what the problem was.   I also informed him again, they did not have dry clothes in their cubbies and explained how I couldn't change them when he picked up as I had nothing to put on them. I informed them that it has always been our policy to go out -even when wet and staying indoors just to stay clean was not an option at our center. Dad argued that I was being rude - I told him to find elsewhere that would accommodate that issue- and he was upset and just hung up.  After more threatening texts from the mom-  I replied back to the mom via text and also informed her they would be done as of that day.     Reasons for termination-  Disagreement over our policies and procedures Being rude or disrespectful/threatening to a staff at anytime    As for the $20 desired settlement, -also in our handbook we are not liable for children's clothing.  Again, this particular day was really nice out after days of rain/indoor recess. Mud boots & extra clothes are items most parents automatically pack their children as per the handbook.     Available attachments-  1. Social media picture of the 5 year old playing outside, taken about 1/2 before dad picked up - in which the mom liked it, commented "look how happy they look... I'm glad "R" is making making new friends <3"    2. Copy of signed contract/ social media also checked approval to use  -agreeing to all terms/policies    3. Copies of the texts from the mother/Director    4.  Complete Handbook    5.  State Licensing policies      Please call if you have any further questions or concerns!    Renee [redacted], Director/Owner Little B's Learning Center Work# ###-###-#### Cell# ###-###-####   -- Renee [redacted] Director/Owner Little B's Learning Center ###-###-#### work ###-###-#### cell [redacted]
