Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/08/13) */
The only contact made by the customer was one phone callCustomer has not come to our location and provided proof that: the tires were purchased from usthe tires were indeed manufactured in the tires failed due to age
and not other circumstances
If he had come by the office and brought the failed tires with him these questions could have been answered by inspection of the tires by our professional staffAt this time we do not know if these tires were purchased from us, and/or they were underinflated etcand how they failedIf he had brought the tires to us proper adjustment, given the fact that they had been used for two years, would have been made
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/08/17) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I contacted the company by phone to ask if they were willing to refund my money or exchange before I went to their store and waste my timeThe business stated that they would not refund my money or give me an exchangeSo why would I waste my time and money going to their store? Had they stated that they would work with me if I proved the purchase, and brought the tires to their store I would haveNow they claim they that would have resolved it if I did what they asked? WrongKnowing that they are selling "new" tires that are in fact years old (dishonest), they will certainly state that the tire did not fail because of the age of the tire and I could not prove otherwiseThey know they are selling tires that are too old and should not be used because of safety reasonsTires do not last forever and can still be called "new" and considered "safe"Otherwise tire manufacturers would warranty them regardless of age, but they don'tTires have a shelf life regardless if they have been used or notTires are are safety item and can cause serious equipment and bodily injury including death caused by an accidentAny reputable tire store will tell you not to run tires older than 7-years old regardless of how they look because they chemically break down inside the tireI still have both tires from their store, one which failed and the other that I refuse to use even though the tread is fine because it is unsafeI have purchased at least tires from this tire scam shop and all failed within year of purchase because of old ageThis business knows that it is ripping people off and endangering their equipment and livesI have proof of my transaction with them in February of and still have the tiresWill this company put in writing that they will refund me if I prove my purchase and submit the tires? Will they put in writing that they do not sell tires that are years old as "new"? I doubt it because they will continue to side *** their ethical and moral responsibility as a business that sells a product that is a safety item and blame the customer for the problemThere is no way this company would send the tires to the manufacturer to be analyzed for the cause of failure because they know the manufacturer will tell them that they should not be selling tires years old and will not warranty them because of the agethe tire manufacturer website states: Please keep in mind that remaining tread is not an indicator of tire life as the irregular duty cycle requires that trailer tires sit in extended storage under static load conditions often for long periods without movement or maintenance causing the tire carcass (internal structure) to break down, a condition undetected by visual inspectionSounds like the tires they sold meThe Revdex.com should contact the manufacturer directly like I did, here is the web site: www.carlisletransportationproducts.com or call The Carlstar Group's Customer Care Unit at X-XXX-XXX-XXXXEvery tire has a date code stamped on the sidewall, which is the date the tire was manufacturedThe date code is at the end of the DOT I.Dand is a digit numberThe first two numbers indicate the week (out of 52) and the last two digits indicate the yearthe date codes on my tires are *** and *** and the treads look like newMost people dont know how to find the age of their tires and this company knows that so they can rip them offI didnt know until I decided to buy tires from another shop and told them that my tires were failing within year and they told me that my tires were made in and were too oldI will gladly provide the contact info of this honest tire store so you can contact them as well as the manufacturer along with pictures of my tires and purchase historyThis dishonest company will still claim that my tires were not purchased from them because they dont write the tire serial number or manufacturer date on their receipt because they dont want to get caught with their scamHow many years and how many customers have they sold old tires to as new that are at risk and dont know it? Will the company let us inspect their tires for sale and their sales and tire purchase history? I full refund of my costs is an easy solution and quick fix to this problem compared to legal action, bad reviews, lost business, manufacturers refusing to sell to them or bad media attentionWhich is why I contacted them directly first to resolve the problem but they refused to work with me and gave me no options but to accept the result of their bad business practices which is not an option for me
Final Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2015/08/27) */
Thank you for forwarding the response from the consumer in its entiretyWe find it disconcerting that he has called us: dishonest (twice), unethical, a tire scam shop, that we rip people off and has generally slandered our name and reputationIn this electronic age isn't a shame that a small company can be cyber bullied into spending time and effort in resolving such issues that could have been resolved with a face to face conversation (numerous incorrect assumptions have been made by the consumer)
We have been in business over years and of the thousands of tires we sell each year this is the first person that has gone to the Revdex.comYes, we have had a few tires fail in those years but the customer had been professional enough to come by the shop and replacement tires have been provided at a mutual compromise, both parties have been satisfied with the outcome
Resolution: Since the consumer states he has all the information we requested in our previous correspondence but is unwilling to provide it to us and we need that information in order to provide replacement tires there seems to be no resolution
We are glad the consumer has found a dealer that is able to service his needs and answer all his questions
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 14, 2015/08/31) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I never stated that I was unwilling to provide the information about the tiresIf the dealer puts in writing that they will replace my tires if I provide my transaction receipt, then I will submitI will provide pictures of the tires with mfg date as well, but I will keep the tires as proof for futureI called them in person over the phone and they stated that they would not refund my money, so why would I provide the info to themThey never request any info, just stated that refunding my money was not an optionIn addition, they do not deny selling me tires that are over ten years old as "new" at new pricesThey don't care that the tires they sold me have failed because of age and don't care about the wasted time, money and damage to my equipment and safety risk they exposed me toSo what "incorrect assumptions by the consumer have been made"? They don't provide themTires fail because of old age is a factNow I'm a cyber bully for exposing their scam and dishonesty? I will make this real simple for the dealer to respond to these simple questions that they continue to dance around: do you deny selling tires over ten years old as "new" to your customers? Yes or no? Do you deny telling me over the phone that you would not refund my money? Yes or no?Just answer the questions and stop dancing around the problem
