Hello, I have received the complaint posted by one of our current tenants and would like to formally respond and notify the Revdex.com of our actions taken to resolve any and all issues presented The tenant brought her concerns up to our management office for the first time the third week of January, this year As soon as her concerns were brought to our attention our management office immediately moved forward with inspecting all accusations made about her roommate In addition to such efforts, we accommodated this resident by allowing her to transfer units We presented options to her and she chose a penthouse style unit which ultimately has a higher priced monthly rent Upon accepting our transfer accommodation, she took possession of the unit, however personally decided she did not wish to live in such unit due to the current residents utilizing all kitchen and cabinet space Once this was brought to our attention I told her I could speak with the current residents and ensure they created space for her belongings in the kitchen She did not wish for me to do so and asked to remain in her current instead I also offered other units within our building, but she claimed she did not want to move and would rather cancel her lease Unfortunately, per her signed lease agreement this was not an option we offer, and I then explained the re-letting process to her as she did not wish to live in her current unit At this time, I continue to assist in every way possible, working to accommodate her personal requests I have gone above and beyond numerous times to transfer her to a number of available bedrooms onsite, and also at our sister property located just several blocks down the road I further have notified her that if she wish for us to assist in finding someone to take over her contract we can certainly do so, and thus she has signed a re-let form with us to ensure this process moves forward Such actions are what would be taken no matter the resident or applicant experiencing such issues – in other words, these are the same accommodations we would make to any and all residents if needed As a landlord I have provided such tenant numerous options Unfortunately we cannot move forward with cancelling the contract as per her signed lease agreement this is not an option offered Such tenant has entered a lease, legally binding contract, and although she is dissatisfied with behavior of a roommate, all residents entered our contracts acknowledging that the lease specifically notes roommate compatibility is dependent upon the tenants, and we do our best to match based on availability, floor plan selected Any and all mediation efforts we engage in is not required but is rather a service we offer in efforts to maintain satisfaction of all residents As we are currently doing, we will continue to offer those interested the option to take over her current contract with our management company as the tenant has requested to re-let her contract and thus we will aid in finding someone to do so Best, Kallahan K [redacted] Property Manager | LIV & Identity Brooklyn Ave NE | Seattle, WA Office: www.identityseattle.com | www.liv-udistrict.com

I am rejecting this response because:
I have to restate my standpointI choose this apartment, for they have perfect kitchen where I can cook any food and no smoking environmentHowever, I can’t cook by my mind because the roommate have an allergy to those sea food and not only can't eat but also can't smell itWhen I applied for this room, LIV asked me to answer some questions included my taboo such as food or pet etcSo they know some of their tenants have severe tabooIf the taboo affects the other tenant’s freedom, I think that LIV has the responsibility to tell the new tenant who want to rent the room about the severe taboo and ask the new tenant whether he or she can accept or notI didn’t receive any information about the roommate’s severe taboo before I signed the contract
The most terrible thing is the terrible smell in my apartmentI believe LIV has their strict rule to forbid smoking in the apartmentThat’s why I sign the contrastI didn’t say that someone smoked in my apartmentThe roommate told me that this apartment is special unit, so there are many smell will come into this apartmentWhen I told LIV about the smell problem which already affected my heath, they started to investigateBut the problem still existsMeanwhile, they still let another girl to look around the apartment, for she wanted to transfer roomAnd that girl also smelled the terrible smellWhat a terrible disaster! They still rent the apartment whose smell problem still exist !? Could I believe that the other room is okay?!
LIV actually gave some option, but the option is not option for meLIV admits this apartment’s problem is their responsibility, but they provide the room whose position is very badI have to move to another room which is more expensive, worse environment, or another expensive apartmentI don’t think that is a option for meIt seems like I have to accept it, and I don’t have another choiceMoreover, I paid another hundreds dollar to LIV for finding someone to sublet the roomI don’t think these option is for meI never forget the LIV told me that “Maybe someone else don’t care about the smell.” Unfortunately, I have already find over than person who care the terrible chemical smell, and one of them even come to my apartmentShe looked around the environment and also smelled the terrible smellAgain, It’s not my problem, but I have to accept their option which I don’t think it isI have always believed that the U.S protects consumer’s rightBut this experience let me understand that the protection has pre-conditionsThat is I am foreigner and the other roommate is American, so all the problem which is LIV’s problem have to be solved by myself such as paying more money , moving to another bad position, or paying money for my sublease , and I have to accept it
I can't believe the landlord who still rent the problem room anymoreI'm just like a victimI ran away from the apartment to the other safe community, for I have to protect my personal safety
I don't know which is trueIt is the special unit? LIV will solve the problem? But they still rent the problem apartment out?
Sincerely,*** ** ***

Hello Again,   I am responding to the same complaint as previously made per the below correspondence.  In regards to the resident stating there is ‘something special’ about this unit, that is not the case.  The resident took over a contract from a previous tenant, and thus it would have been the responsibility between the previous resident and the complaining resident to view the room and ensure she found such unit suitable.  She took over someone’s contract, and thus worked with them to ensure she wanted to take over the contract.  In the end, she did decide to take over this lease contract, and moved in to the unit.  As soon as she brought her concerns to our attention, we immediately began finding resolutions.  We brought numerous resolutions to her attention, all very suitable options.  There were more than one other options for her, and all were presented to her.    As stated before, we are working to assist in finding someone to take over her contract, but it is her responsibility as well.  Once someone is found to take over her legally binding contract we will be certain to go through the re-letting process with her, as detailed in her lease agreement.   Best,   Kallahan K[redacted] Property Manager | LIV & Identity 4721 Brooklyn Ave NE | Seattle, WA 98105 Office: 206.467.4074 www.identityseattle.com | www.liv-udistrict.com

Hello,

I have received the complaint posted by one of our current tenants and would like to formally respond and notify the Revdex.com of our actions taken to resolve any and all issues presented.  The tenant brought her concerns up to our management office for the first time the third week...

of January, this year.  As soon as her concerns were brought to our attention our management office immediately moved forward with inspecting all accusations made about her roommate.  In addition to such efforts, we accommodated this resident by allowing her to transfer units.  We presented options to her and she chose a penthouse style unit which ultimately has a higher priced monthly rent.  Upon accepting our transfer accommodation, she took possession of the unit, however personally decided she did not wish to live in such unit due to the current residents utilizing all kitchen and cabinet space.  Once this was brought to our attention I told her I could speak with the current residents and ensure they created space for her belongings in the kitchen.  She did not wish for me to do so and asked to remain in her current instead.  I also offered other units within our building, but she claimed she did not want to move and would rather cancel her lease.  Unfortunately, per her signed lease agreement this was not an option we offer, and I then explained the re-letting process to her as she did not wish to live in her current unit.

At this time, I continue to assist in every way possible, working to accommodate her personal requests.  I have gone above and beyond numerous times to transfer her to a number of available bedrooms onsite, and also at our sister property located just several blocks down the road.  I further have notified her that if she wish for us to assist in finding someone to take over her contract we can certainly do so, and thus she has signed a re-let form with us to ensure this process moves forward.  Such actions are what would be taken no matter the resident or applicant experiencing such issues – in other words, these are the same accommodations we would make to any and all residents if needed.

As a landlord I have provided such tenant numerous options.  Unfortunately we cannot move forward with cancelling the contract as per her signed lease agreement this is not an option offered.   Such tenant has entered a lease, legally binding contract, and although she is dissatisfied with behavior of a roommate, all residents entered our contracts acknowledging that the lease specifically notes roommate compatibility is dependent upon the tenants, and we do our best to match based on availability, floor plan selected.  Any and all mediation efforts we engage in is not required but is rather a service we offer in efforts to maintain satisfaction of all residents.  As we are currently doing, we will continue to offer those interested the option to take over her current contract with our management company as the tenant has requested to re-let her contract and thus we will aid in finding someone to do so.

Best,

I am rejecting this response because:I think that I have the right  to know something important and special rules from the landlord before I sing the contract, and the landlord has the responsibility to offer those information which might affect tenant's decision to sign the contract.I choose this apartment, for they have perfect kitchen where I can cook any food and no smoking environment. In my situation, I can't cook any shellfish, any shrimp, or any crab in my apartment , and I smell something terrible smell like chemistry which hurt my health and cause me to get serious upset syndrome. Moreover, LIV has agreed that is their problems. This contract is based on an unjust situation between tenant and landlord, for I didn't get the complete information from landlord. They provided those option while I was arguing with the manager about the problem. The option came out  when I came to LIV office and ask why I can't stop the contract.Even the landlord  told me there were another room the same price at that time when I came to her office and argued again. Unfortunately, the room whose position is the worse in the apartment with same price. That's why I didn't accept that one. I don't feel that LIV tries to find better option for me. For the landlord's reaction and the roommate has hostility to me, I don't dare live there anymore. I can't forget the terrible expression in the roommate's eyes at that day when I move out. Now, I have lived in a very suitable community. All I want them to do is to stop the unfair contract please. LIV has became my nightmare and it panic me seriously because the terrible experience.
Sincerely,
