Review: I signed up for a two week option for a resume service in January 2015. it was advertised as being about $15.00. I was then charged more than $50.00 on my credit card in February. I called their service but I could not reach anyone (the number would just disconnect), I tried their live chat but I kept getting cut off, I emailed. I ended up trying to contact someone through the [redacted] page. I finally got an email back. I asked for my account to be cancelled. I gave them my name, email address and phone number. They wrote back and told me there was not an account under my email anymore. I assumed this meant it was cancelled. I came home from a trip out of the country and found two more charges for $50.00 on my credit card. I called and got through to a person who was able to pull up my account through two questions about the last numbers on my credit card and m name. She told me that because my email was wrong on my email, I was still being charged for the service. I asked why when I sent multiple messages asking to cancel my account, it was not looked up under my name and no attempt was made to cancel my account. She said she could not do anything except cancel my account so I do not receive any more charges.Desired Settlement: I don't mind taking the charges for January and February because I must have misunderstood the service charges but I would like the charges in March and April refunded. It was obvious I was unhappy with the service and no attempt was made to resolve my complaint and follow-up on cancelling my account.

Response:

Thank you for the opportunity to resolve this complaint from [redacted]. We have reviewed our files and our records show that [redacted] signed up for our Resume Builder services on January **, 2015. The copy online clearly provided [redacted] with a choice of full access for 14 days at a discounted rate, which automatically renews to monthly access for a monthly fee, or an annual subscription that is pro-rated at a lower rate per month but which is paid upfront for access to the services all year long. [redacted] chose to accept our offer for 14 day full access, which automatically renews monthly. On the page where [redacted] made that selection, immediately adjacent to the choice of subscriptions, the offer clearly and conspicuously states that the 14 day premium access ''automatically renews at $39.80 per month on the [redacted] day''. In addition, on the purchase confirmation page it is also clearly disclosed that this subscription will ''begin immediately and renew on January **, 2015 to our monthly service at $39.80 per month.'' This page also provides information on how [redacted] could cancel before this monthly charge. Finally, [redacted] was also sent an email to the email address provided to us on the same day confirming [redacted]’s access to our services and reiterating one more time that ''Your subscription begins immediately and renews automatically on January **, 2015 to our recurring monthly service at $39.80 per month.'' Accordingly, on January **, 2015 [redacted]’s card was charged $39.80 for the applicable month of service. Although our monthly charges are not refundable, LiveCareer was willing to make an exception for [redacted] and provide her a refund of 2 monthly charges totaling $39.80. Our customer service team refunded [redacted] the amount of $79.60 as of May **, 2015. We trust this addresses any concerns you may have.

Review: I ordered a service named "Resume Builder 7 day Full Access", which cost $2.95, in LiveCareer at [redacted] February 2013. The order number is [redacted]. But LiveCareer assigned me another service, which took $34.95 per month from my credit card, without notifying me.

I never received any email or notice or anything from LiveCarrer which told me that I had another service which cost $34.95. And I did not received any bill about this service at all! So I had been charged for 17 months(from March 2013 to July 2014), $34.95 per month, without knowing it.

In the email LiveCareer sent to me at **-02-2013, the name of the product "Resume Builder 7 day Full Access" was in bold and its cost $2.95 was in another big column and was obvious. In the description of service, only the last sentence mentioned that there was a service at $34.95 and there was no special marking. The design of the product description made the last sentence be ignored quite easily. Besides, it is wrong to charge me 34.95$ per month according to the description of another service cost 2.95$ in total.

It is a consumer trap!

In July 2014, I found this fee accidentally, and contacted LiveCareer by phone, web site and email. LiveCareer refunded me 12 transactions, each at $34.95, but refused to refund the left 5 transactions.Desired Settlement: I want the left 5 transactions, each at $34.95, to be refunded.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: I used their website ( livecareer.com ) once back in April of 2014 to create a resume and have not used it since. I just noticed I have been charged for every month since (12 months x $45 U.S.) roughly $550. They are telling me this: "..you purchase a service for 14 day full access for a resume Builder for 1.95. This service should have been cancelled before 14 day period ends if not it will auto renew into a 4 week recurring subscription at the monthly rate of $39.80."

This is a classic automatic renewal scam if I've ever seen one. From $1.95 for 14 days to $$39.80 every month? I never would have agreed to this and they know no one would. I am logged into their site now and don't even see that I have a subscription let alone how to cancel it. No emails or any correspondence have gone to me this whole time. Please help.Desired Settlement: I will pay for a month, which I still would not have agreed to but I am trying to be fair.

I would like a refund for 11 months worth of charges 11 X $39.80 = $437.80
