Living Home and Space

We have had the opportunity to remodel our home, to update it from an aged build up to an early 2000's colonial Live Home & Space, under the management of Joyce and James L**, have exceeded our expectations and helped to give us a beautiful new home From the start, during the initial planning phase their interest in our desires, meeting our initial requirements as well as the changes we requested during the installation phase, along with daily contact to keep us updated on progress while keeping the project on time and staying within budget were all outstanding The direct support of their workers, including electrician, plumber, carpenter, tile and other laborers (all direct staff, no subs) was superb, exhibiting creativity and a detailed, fine workmanship Their combined experience provided us with a feeling of comfort and of relief in knowing we were getting a job well done We are so grateful we chose to do business with Living Home & Space and we thank Joyce & James for their help in making us feel positive about the process and the outcome Most highly recommended!

In February 2012, I contracted Living Home & Space (Fort Washington, MD) for a bathroom renovation in our homeDuring this renovation, my husband noted several instances of rudeness and disrespect to him and our home from Joyce and James L*** Immediately after the renovation, Joyce demanded final payment which I gave to her When my husband found out, he hit the roof and told me that he never wanted those people back in his house ever again Well...July 2016, I wanted a remodel on a smaller bathroom whereby I contracted with Living Home and Space once again This time I learned my lesson They will never be invited nor welcomed in our home ever againThey scheduled to do work in our home on two Saturdays where no one called and no one showed up When I told Joyce that I wanted to be financially compensated for them wasting my time, she called a police officer and told him that I would not pay her Unbeknownst to Joyce and her friend, we are generations of law enforcement family After my conversation with the officer, he apologized and said there was no reason for him to be involved and that he was backing out of this and that he hoped Joyce and I could work out something Now, supposed that officer had come to my home and noticed a weapon and either killed us or got himself hurt or injured? With innocent citizens dying everyday at the hands of police, calling police officers and telling lies is absolutely NOT the correct way to handle this type of situation I don't know if she was trying to have us killed or what I'm not trying to discourage anyone from doing business with them at all but I am saying "BUYER BEWARE" and that WE, and OUR friends, family, and neighbors will NEVER do business with them againThey would rather s*you dead than compensate you by offering something for disrespecting and wasting your timeThey think their time has value and yours does not Also, in the beginning, Joyce tried to get me to pay her MORE than one third deposit Maryland law states that a contractor cannot request more than one third deposit on a job When I bought that to her attention she stated that she was aware of this Well if so why did you ask for more? I know I'm all over the place in my review but I was just informed that an elderly couple near me used this company and the company cracked a tile then got their final payment and refused to go back to fix the tile I also recently discovered that Joyce L***has a reputation/history of utilizing police officers to deal with any issues involving customers of colorThe stories just k*** comingAs consumers, we share a fiduciary responsibility one to another to inform and k*** each other safe from doing business with those who pose potential harm to ourselves, our family, our friends, and our neighbors
