August 10, Dear [redacted] ,In response to the dealership's response, I had to replace the dashboard cluster because they “supposedly" sent the car out to have it fixed, which l believe was May When the car was returned to us four days later, we noticed it as still "acting up", I was concerned for the safety of my son, operating a vehicle that was not working properlyThis prompted me to take it to a [redacted] dealershipI was informed by [redacted] that a "wrong" dashboard cluster was installed in the carHence, this is why I am seeking reimbursementWe (actually my son) paid a lot of money, hard earned cash, $6,053,70, for a used car that is years oldWe did not expect to have to put out money for repairs for a car that my son just bought in good faith from an "actual dealership"Ever since we got the car fixed properly, we have not had any problems with any dashboard issuesAs well, my son denies that he was ever shown what was under that braThat bra was fitted on the car very, very tightly, making it impossible to show the dented "part of" that bumper.| am still seeking monetary reimbursement for the the dashboard cluster, totaling $as well as reimbursement for the "concealed” damaged bumper upon purchaseEnclosed are receipts and a picture of the bumper to support our complaint.Thank you in advance for investigating this matter and hopefully getting L & J Auto Sales to reimburse me for what I feel was bad business

in the initial review on *** which they have since changed several times they stated that our policies were very clearly explainedThe ***s did not purchase an extended service contract, and understood that after the two weeks that we provide at no charge, they would not have coverageThey
did not return to purchase the service contract during the two weeks of coverage we providedThe Service contract clearly states piston rings are covered had they opted to take itThree months and over miles later we are accused of being thieves and Scammers; they clearly would not have bought a vehicle with a problemWe towed the vehicle and checked to see if there was something we could have missed for no charge, since pistons rings are something internal and not something you can inspect without disassembling the motor we go by compression checks, visible operation, and Sound of the engineEven though they did not take the service contract we did still try to help by doing a $dollar repair, for our cost of $It is unfortunate they had a problem with a vehicle they purchased from usNot buying the service contract is a gamble and if you take a gamble and have an issue, I should not be liableAs with anything in life decisions are made and with them come some amount of risk, again they did not take the service contractWe feel that we have done our best to try to correct an issueEven though we service our vehicles, unfortunately we cannot predict the futureWe have hundreds of Satisfied CustomerSevery year, and many families that have bought cars here for decadesThere is no responsibility on our part to fix or Compensate Mr*** for a decision that was clearly his to make.Thank you, Lawrence U***

I am rejecting this response because: The facts are the warranties offered were not going to cover a new engine-periodOur niece came to us after we purchased the car and the same exact thing happened to her from this businessI take issue with the fact that these vehicles are passing inspection when they should not be so the focus is on who is passing themThe car facts on her vehicle shows it should have never been placed there for saleA good mechanic would never have passed either vehicle

8/1/14Dear ***,In response to the complaint I received Id #***, this car had came back the 1st time for a shifter light out, we fixed it, the 2nd time the dasch lights didn't light up properly we had them fixed, the 3rd time the car came back *** *** called and said her son was
on his way home from school and It sounded like something fell off the car and the bumper was only held on by the braI told her that that was not the case the bra could not hold the weight of the bumper and to bring it in and we would take a look at it, she had the Son bring the car in for us to look at, it looked as though the car had hit Something or someone had backed into the car, all the push pins were blown out of the inner fender wells, now in order for the pins to be blown out like that the car had some force hit it in the frontBut no matter what happen to please the customer we fixed it, this car was sold with the front bumper damaged as if someone hit a high parking curb, and the son knew that, he had ask my son what it looked like under the bra before he bought it and my son took part of the front of the bra off so he could see itSo he clearly new of the damage to the bumper, I can tell you we checked the front bumper, supports etc before we offered the car for sale, and I can tell you the inner fender pins were not blown outWe in good faith tried to help and treat the *** as we would want to be treated, we cant do anymore, but the front bumper in question was sold that way and I told *** *** we are not fixing itThe previous owner put the bra on the bumper to cover up the damage and make the car look nice, and we didn't hide anything about it we showed the son the damageWe stood behind the car as we would any other car we sellSo there will be no refund or reimbursement of any kind from us.Sincerely Larry U

As for the diagnostic issue at [redacted], they don't Just guess what's wrong with a car, that is crazy. May I remind [redacted] I did not force you to hand over your money and I did not force you to sign the paperwork On the car as well, this was your choice. Our sales approach is very low pressure here, we are happy if you buy and we can help you and are not offended if you don't. Certainly the [redacted] could not find the car anywhere else as nice for less or they would have bought it, everybody shops. I would also like to remind [redacted] that she signed a FEDERAL BUYERS GUIDE that she bought the car AS-IS (enclosed). As you can see [redacted] we went above and beyond to help the [redacted] even though the car was AS-IS. We treat everyone as best as we can and help everyone as much as we can within reason, If I tell you to bring it in if you have any more problems and you don’t, then there is no more I can do. You can't please everybody, we tried. There is no negligence on my part at all, so again there will be no reimbursement from L & J Auto Sales. Please close this case I have provided the facts and the documents that the car was sold AS-IS, [redacted] did not have to spend any money this was her choice to do so.Larry U

Review: My son and I purchased a used car that has had problems since day 1. I had to get the car fixed properly because L&J did not but claims they did. Also, damage on car was hidden by "bra", front bumper.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed all monies spent to correct problem. I would also like front bumper fixed or refunded money to get fixed.
