I am sorry the [redacted]’s were not happy with the style of vent that came with theventilation fan installed in the newly created attic. I did check with my supplierto see if there is another option but unfortunately there was not a different stylevent to the exterior that is available for this unit....

The ventilation fan was installedto get some ventilation in the roof because the roof had no ventilation beforeand was creating condensation issues and surface mold on the drywall.Unfortunately, I cannot control what rodents, bugs or birds do to an exterior ofsomeone’s home. The vent and fan were installed to the manufacturersspecifications and working properly. I can only suggest that the homeownersspeak with a pest control company to see what options they have to deter theanimals from eating away at the vent. I have the same problem with woodpeckers pecking on the corner trim on my home but that is not due toinstallation of the product.Mrs. [redacted] did contact us asking if a screen of some sort can be installed overthe vent. After I looked at it, it was determined that would not help sincesomething had already chewed through the plastic louver vent. I did leave amessage for Mrs. [redacted] letting her know my findings and never heard anythingfurther from her.I am sorry it took longer than normal to complete the project. It was a very wetseason last year and I was constantly behind all season due to the weather.Then my mother became terminally ill and I had to assist my father with her careuntil she passed away in August. I am sorry the [redacted]’s feels that LJ Custom Builders failed to complete the projectbut the job was completed as stated in the contract. I would suggest if theanimals continue to be an issue to contact a pest control company in the areafor assistance. One other suggestion would be to see if you can find a metallouver style vent that may not be as easy for rodents to chew through.
