LJ's Towing Reviews (4)

Review: LJ's Tow. along with their "other" company, [redacted] is reporting a collection account on my credit by both companies (resulting in TWO collection accounts) for the same supposed debt. This violates the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Both accounts must be removed.Desired Settlement: Remove both accounts as they violate The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, immediately. And whomever [redacted] or his cohort Lj , is they are willingly and willfully committing fraud by reporting this under two separate accounts for the same alleged debt.

Dear Revdex.com,On or about 18:25 hrs 03/07/2014 [redacted] 1989 [redacted] Wrangler was impounded for being driven without license driver which required a license driver and R/O ([redacted]) and current registration with the impound fee's to retrieve the vehicle. At the time of tow [redacted] was the legal registered owner which makes her financially responsible for the towing fee's. No one ever contacted LJ's Towing to retrieve the vehicle which cleared it lien sale on 04/14/2014. At that time [redacted] was responsible for the impound fee's owed to LJ's Towing and was turn over to [redacted] to collect our debt.As For [redacted], we at LJ's Towing are not affiliated with that tow company and if her car was towed by them she would have to reach out to them and resolve her towing issue with them.A copy of Roseville Police Dept is attached showing all the info why the vehicle was towed with date and time with vehicle info showing who the owner was.I hope this resolves issue with the complaint and Revdex.com requirementsThank you , Sincerely LJ's Towing management

Review: LJ's towing towed my car that I had totaled.I went to they're office two days later to pay to dispose of my car and they would not let me collect all of my belongings from it my stereo that I had just put in "had to stay with the car" when I had the original still in the trunk. this is a shady business and I hope never to have to deal with them againDesired Settlement: I just want my stereo back.

To Whom it concerns Revdex.com,

Mr. [redacted] came to our office this morning and paid a disposal fee $240.00 which is not the whole tow bill $340.00 , its just part of the tow bill so he don't get sent to collection, He is allowed to get anything thats not bolted , wired or attached to the vehicle that's not working as part of the car, Mr [redacted] called afterward wanting his radio and as I told him before he can pay the full tow bill Then take his car and do what he wants with. Then Mr [redacted]s Then threaten me if I didnt give him his radio that he would turn me in to Revdex.com which here we are. Its amazing how people continue to want business to do things free for them. If Mr. [redacted]s wants his radio then he needs to pay the full bill as I already told him, attached are photos of his vehicle that he wants me to deal with now.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: the radio is part of my belongings, I should be able to take it. Its amazing how this company thinks they can do whatever they want and nobody will stand up for themselves.

Response:

I'm Sorry that Mr. [redacted]s feels that way but he can call the Citrus Heights Police Dept. to verify that the radio is part of the car and he had the opportunity to pay the full bill and get the whole vehicle, that was his choice not mind, have a good day Mr [redacted]s.

Review: I was involved in an accident in Woodland Ca. in March 2014. Two days after the accident I went to LJ's Woodland yard to get some things out of my wrecked vehicle. I was denied access to my vehicle unless I paid the towing and storage fees. I wouldn't pay and told them my insurance would pay because I am covered. They told me they don't work with the insurance companies for those fees. The lady in the office made a phone call to the manager/owner in a different location. The man on the phone told me the same thing and said if I didn't pay the towing and storage fees and sign the title over, it would be turned into collections for over $2,000 in 30 days. I told him I never heard of that before and that I was in a wreck in 1995 and it wasn't like that. He stated "that was a long time ago and things have changed". He lied to me and used intimidation to get my vehicle after being dispatched by Woodland Police department to the accident scene. My truck was dismantled and crushed a few days later before any insurance adjuster could look at it. My small child was injured in the accident and their only interest was their financial gain.Desired Settlement: Reimbursed the loss of the salvage value, interest and lost wages approx. $700.00

To Revdex.com: complaint #[redacted].

On March 2,2014 approximately 16:00 hrs LJ's tow responded to a Woodland Police Dept call accident located @ West St. & Woodland Ave in Woodland , Ca.. LJ's Tow operator met [redacted] at the accident scene with Mr. [redacted] vehicle 2000 Chev S10 p/u which was not operable. Mr. [redacted] was given the option to tow it to his place for $195.00 per hour but since he had no financial means for the tow it was towed to our impound yard. On March 4,2014 Mr. [redacted] showed up at our impound yard located @ 333 N.Pioneer Ave. Woodland , Ca. to resolve his tow matter with LJ's Tow and retrieved all his personal property from his vehicle. LJ's Tow always explain 3 options to the customer. first option if the customer has full coverage insurance then he can release it to the insurance company which they would pay the impound fee's then move the vehicle to there storage facility but Mr. [redacted] explain he didn't have full coverage insurance and that he only had liability insurance that wouldn't cover his accident leaving Mr [redacted] with the next two options .

Option two for Mr. [redacted] was pay the impound fee's which was $195.00 for the tow and $55.00 per day storage for March 2nd,3rd & 4th total on storage fee's $165.00 plus tow fee of $195.00 for grand total of $360.00 to take his vehicle out of our impound facility or pay a disposal fee of $250.00 and leave his non operable vehicle with us with no more financial obligations to LJ's tow or third option would do nothing at all and after LJ's tow lien on Mr [redacted] vehicle cleared usually taking 40 days and giving LJ's tow legal action to dispose of the vehicle leaving Mr [redacted] responsible for the impound fee's that would be around $2000.00.

Mr [redacted] chose option two in paying a disposal fee of $250.00 ( his cheapest option) in signing his vehicle over to LJ's Tow in resolving his financial obligations with LJ's Tow

After a period of time gone by Mr [redacted] found out that the other party involved in his accident was taking responsibility for the accident and wanted us to let the other insurance company to look at his vehicle which by that time the vehicle had been dispose of and was not possible.

Mr [redacted] then made a complaint with the Woodland Police Dept. which investigated his allegations against LJ's Tow and found no wrong in LJ's Towing

Mr [redacted] claim in his unfortunate accident is the responsibility of the other party involve and that's where he needs to seek all of his reimbursement from and quit making erroneous statements towards LJ's Towing.

LJ's Towing always assist the customer in any of their towing needs and all their option in resolving their financial obligation that arises from their unfortunate tow experience .

Thank you

I am rejecting this response because:

V. C. (Vehicle Code) Section 22651.07 states that, "Prior to receiving payment for any towing, recovery, or storage or related fees, a person that charges for towing or storage or both, shall provide an itemized invoice of actual charges to the vehicle owner or his or her agent". Where is mine?

Review: One of my vehicles (1992 Mercury Grand Marquis last four of vin[redacted]) was towed by LJs after an accident in Folsom had totaled it. On or about March 27, 2014 I paid $695.00 (cash, unfortunately) owed regarding storage/disposal fees.In June I received a DMV Notice of Delinquent Renewal. When I asked for a receipt from LJs showing that they took possession of the vehicle they faxed me a scribbled note with no letterhead or indication that it is even from LJs towing. Extremely unprofessional. DMV will not accept.Desired Settlement: A professional receipt of transfer of the vehicle to them on letterhead or some other business form that reflects said transfer.

Response:

To Whom it concerns,

All [redacted] had to do was go on DMV web site (http://dmv.ca.gov/portal/home/dmv.htm) go to the online section and fill out the release of liability which all owners are required to do back on 3/27/2014 showing she released liability to LJ's Tow and this problem would not arise for her. Unfortunately we are not required to do the release of liability for the owner of the vehicle and we usually only make a copy the person ID and title and hand write a receipt saying they paid a disposal fee of $695.00 on such date, but since [redacted] didn't have her title she only got a receipt with her ID. LJ's Tow had to wait till the lien cleared before the car could go to the wrecking yard. The car lien cleared on 4/7/2014 then we disposed of it to the wrecking yard on 4/28/2014 and they acquisition with it to DMV on 5/21/2014 and the acquisition #[redacted] is recorded with DMV. I also attached another receipt for [redacted] , I hope this resolves [redacted] ordeal with DMV.
