Review: On 7/22/14 I contacted L & L Moving & Storage a[redacted] located a[redacted] My phone call was returned by [redacted] an employee of L&L. I explained to him that my roommate & I had purchased two black leather couches (3 seater & loveseat) from a [redacted] resident & needed them moved from their current location to our apt in [redacted] told me he would be able to move the couches with help from 1 "guy" & informed me that he did not have any trucks available at the time, but would be able to use an enclosed pickup truck. I repeatedly asked him if he would be able to fit 2 couches in the pickup truck. He reassured me that they would fit, & being that this is his field of business, I trusted his expertise. He quoted a price of $250 cash for moving both couches from the [redacted] NJ apartment on 7/24/14 & deliver & set up in the [redacted], NJ apt. This was verbally agreed upon 7/23/14. On 7/24/14, I received a call from [redacted] early in the morning from [redacted] and he informed me that he was at the [redacted] location & he didn't think both couches were going to fit in the back of his truck. He said he would attempt it but couldn't guarantee both would fit & it would be an additional $250 for making another trip back to [redacted] & then to [redacted] to retrieve the love seat. I told him I did not want him taking the love seat down because that is not what was agreed upon on 7/23/14. Again, the quoted price for 2 couches was $250. At 2:15pm, [redacted] arrived w/ another worker w/ 1 couch. They were dressed in regular clothing & arrived in an unmarked red pick up truck. L&L Moving was not labeled anywhere on the vehicle, nor were they wearing uniforms bearing the company's logo. The 3 seater was stuffed in the back of the red vehicle w/ no proper packaging to ensure safe delivery. [redacted] & his helper attempted to transport the 1 sofa in the building elevator. They were unable to fit the couch in the elevator and the stairwell. Shawn insisted he be paid $200 for his time.Desired Settlement: After much hesitation, [redacted] was paid $200 for his time to avoid any further arguments & authorities, although the job wasn't completed. $250 was quoted to deliver 2 couches, not 1. At this time we have no couches in our apartment. The couch he delivered is being stored in our apartment's stairwell & the love seat remains in [redacted] w/ the seller. It is unfortunate that this has happened & I look forward to some sort of resolution for this matter. I feel as though the job needs to be completed.
