Lloyd Electric LLC Reviews (2)

[redacted] had hired LLOYD ELECTRIC, LLC to install low voltage phone/data lines and tv wires in his basement.  [redacted] was in the process of finishing his basement and was hiring construction workers to complete his project.  I was only there to install phone/data lines and...

tv wires and to install all necessary data/phone and tv plates required per home owner request after drywall and paint were finished.  The data/phone line and Tv jack finish plates were installed by LLOYD ELECTRIC, LLC.  Per [redacted] and LLOYD ELECTRIC, LLC conversation regarding exactly what "style" and "type" of trim plate was to be installed, it was chosen by [redacted] that the cheapest and most basic of data/phone and tv jacks were to be installed.  Furthermore, about 2 months later had received a phone call from [redacted] with him stating that he was having problems with his internet speeds.  Furthermore, [redacted] stated that he already had a different company come out to try to fix/diagnose this slower MBPS issue.  With no luck from the other company, he called me looking for a solution.  I then scheduled a day with Mr.  Sutton to go to his house to diagnose what the exact problem would be.  LLOYD ELECTRIC, LLC surveyed the job and realized that the data/phone jacks that were receiving the "proper" internet speed he wanted were upstairs and were of the original wiring of the house.  These date/phone line jacks were completely different data/phone jacks than what I had installed in the basement-which was just finished.  I understood that I needed to change the data/phone plates and/or low voltage connections to match exactly what [redacted] had in his upstairs locations.  Per [redacted]'s and LLOYD ELECTRIC, LLC's conversation during the final finishing stage of the basement while I was installing these plates, [redacted] agreed that we would install the most basic of phone/data and tv plates available.  Furthermore, that is what I installed.  Prior to going to his house for troubleshooting purposes, I explained to [redacted] that sometimes during construction, wiring does get damaged.  That was not the case here.  I also explained that if I had to fix something that was not my fault then I would have to charge for it.  He asked how much I would charge.  Furthermore, when I saw that I installed different data/phone lines jacks in the basement I realized that they needed to be changed.  However, [redacted] agreed originally that the very basic installation was fine.  I understand now that what I installed wasn't going to function the way his upstairs jacks do,  but I did install what was requested of me.  That's why I felt that I had the right to charge additional fees for my additional time and products supplied and installed.  It wasn't my fault "per say" but it was something that needed to be changed.  Once I relayed to [redacted] that this change needed to happen, he then asked me to send him an "electrical estimate" for the extra work to be done.  I sent him the electrical estimate and he then asked me when I would be available to do the work.  I scheduled a day with [redacted] to do the work and had it on the schedule.  1 week later I received an email from [redacted] stating that he was canceling out appointment.  Also stating that he was not happy about being charged for this work to be done and all trust had been lost on the behalf of LLOYD ELECTRIC, LLC.    He also said that he would report me to the Revdex.com.  I was shocked by this because I had no idea he had felt this way.  I had no original indication that I had an un-happy and dissatisfied customer.  I really wish I had known that it had gotten this point, I would have handled it totally differently.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: We did not discuss I wanted the cheapest jacks.  I did tell him that I needed it to work for data line for my internet.  He installed phone jacks and one of the lines was not even connected to the jack.  The company I had come into correct the installation said it was not hooked up correctly and he wound up hard wiring the jacks.  The company I used did not know what he was trying to do?  Yes, Lloyd Electric did know I was not pleased with having to pay for the correct setup which was supposed to have been done in the first place.  I did ask why I would have to pay again since it was not done correctly in the first place.  I had [redacted] out twice and they said it was not wired correctly and it would need to be corrected.  I had lost all confidence in Lloyd Electric and that is why I cancelled the appointment.
