before leaving our store, but then when he next used the key several months later, he claims it did not work. I have verified that key we cut was in fact the correct key, this is confirmed by him when the key worked. From time to time, we have chipped keys that go bad over time. Rarely does this happen, but in this instance I suspect it did.
At no point prior to receiving his letter in the mail were we informed of the key not working. I would have been more than happy to cut the customer a new key, or should he have requested, refund him the cost of the key. We were not informed of the issue with the customers key not working, he simply sent us copies of invoices from a couple of auto places, insisting that we pay for them. He did not obtain authorization from us, to have this work done.
