Lloyd Pest Control Reviews (15)

My husband and I contracted with Lloyd's Pest Control because we had ants on our property. They did rid the ants from our property, August 2013. However, the contract for $19.99 for three months does not discontinue without being cancelled. It is now May of 2014 and we noticed we are still continue to be charged the $19.99 each month automatically from our checking account on line.

BEWARE of this policy. YOU must call and cancel, even if you have no service you will still be charged each month. We were not offered ANY Credit. Lloyd's Pest Control informed us that if we do not CANCEL the pest control service the charges are taken out each month, for as long as it takes you to notice they are still charging your bank account.

CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS KIND OF SERVICE TO ANYONE

Review: They did not secure the windows to the upstairs rooms. As of result, my house was burglarized. It may have been intentionally. The contract doesn’t state that the windows were required to be opened as part of the fumigation process.

We were on vacation when our loan representative contacted us to inform us that the escrow company was requesting the terminate inspection in order to close out. Thus, we [redacted]rdinated the terminate inspection through my son who stayed at home while we were on vacation. My son was able to get Lloyd Pest Control to do the work from July 8th – 10th. We then [redacted]rdinated through my mother in law to give the company access to get in the house while my son was at work.

On the morning of July 8th my mother in law was at the house as agreed to open the door for Lloyd Pest Control. There were three gentlemen’s who arrived to do the work. Two of them worked outside the house and the other one name “[redacted]” stayed inside the house. [redacted] asked my mother in law to help him bag the kitchen consumable goods while he went upstairs and bagged everything in the master bedroom. So he prepared the house from the inside for the fumigation while the others did the outside.

On July 10th approximately 8:03am my son received a call from [redacted] representative which he didn’t have a clue as to why this company was contacting him when we contracted Lloyd Pest Control to do the work. The representative informed my son that they were outside the house to remove the tents, but noticed the front door was opened and called SDPD.

As we checked the house to see what other items were taken, we noticed that the company only bagged the master bathroom items, under the sink, when the other two were not. It was kind of fishy to see that they only bagged one bathroom and not the other two. We when ahead and contacted two other reputable companies to inquire about the fumigation procedures. Both companies’ stated that it was not a requireDesired Settlement: I was advised to seek guidance through the Revdex.com before taking any further legal action. I could take this to court, but I honestly don’t have the time. I am seeking for a full refund as we paid $4950 to settle our peace. This amount will not cover any damages, personal (50K) and or financial loss.

Another issue I have is false advertisement. On the back of their business card states “Executed by own highly skilled people” when the job was sub-contracted to a different company “[redacted]. This is false advertisement.

Response:

Thank you for notifying us! We had been contacted and were on site with the consumer helping to evaluate the situation immediately upon being notified of the break in. The body of the complaint has some inconsistencies with what we have been told, and learned at the job site, so we will follow up and gather more information. At that time we will contact the customer and work to resolve the issue. We will plan on making contact with the consumer again by Friday, 7/17/15. Sincerely, [redacted], [redacted]LLoyd Pest Control

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

It's now July 21, 2015 and we have

not received a response from the company. I just want a full refund. We paid

$4950 basically to have someone robbed the house. I don’t want to take further

action but we will do so if needed.

Response:

Thank you, Mrs. [redacted], for responding.

Review: I have been billed for services beyond my cancel date. I emailed and then called [redacted] re-iterating the email explaining the disservice of their personnel. She said I was lying because she did not show my calls coming in. It has been almost a year ago and I did call in several times with complaints on no pick up of dead mice to still have ants after treatments. She challenged my integrity with is inexcusable. Then she hung up on me. Not professional at all. I do not feel I should have to pay for service I did not get results from and, definitely, not to a company whom calls me a liar.Desired Settlement: An apology and a clearing of my statement.

Response:

We are really sorry to have made you unhappy. We are happy to remove your past due charges. You never paid the current and past due bills that we were sending each month. After six months you went automatically to the collections agent. You state that you contacted us on April 1, May 1, and June 1 – we’re guessing that you don’t remember the actual dates since we’re not open on Sundays. In fact, I see in the notes that you contacted us in July to voice a concern and we agreed to give you $20 off your bill. But none of that bill was ever paid either. In fact, the last bill that you paid was in May of last year. Since then, you’ve had us come out to provide service five times. We completely understand when people are unhappy with services that they receive. We wouldn’t want anybody to pay for a service that made them unhappy. In fact, we’d want them to stop requesting five more services that make them unhappy. And that rather than just ignore a bill that is being received month-after-month, address the issue before we are forced to relegate it to the collections agent.

Review: Continually receiving advertising postcards. Emailed them and asked to have my name and address removed. Email was ignored.Desired Settlement: Remove name and address from their records. Not to send any more advertising postcards.

I've spent two days looking into this matter. We have a system in place to remove people from our mailing list. I've checked into all of our public e-mail addresses and do not find a request from Mr. [redacted] nor from anyone with his his address. I've checked the equivalent of the SPAM folder - also, nothing.

Review: We just found out that we have been getting billed since 9/2013 for service that we have not been receiving, and that I know I verbally cancelled this service by phone at the conclusion of a this 6-month service (3/2014). I want to make it clear that I never agreed to any service beyond the 6-month verbal agreement, and made this perfectly clear to the Lloyd Pest Control agent at the time of the initial call on 9/2013. No service calls were performed since my initial call on 9/2013, and I was not notified of continued billing this entire time (9/2013 - 4/2015). I called Customer Service on 4/15/15 to get this issue resolved and was told that the service I requested on 9/2013 was an "on demand" (on-going) service and Lloyd's required a phone call or email record of the service cancellation request, but I was not informed of any of this at the time I originally called for service (9/2013). The phone record could not be found, and Customer Service would only refund 8 mo's of charges even though I should have been initially informed of this and refunded a full year of service charges. I am furious and will never use Lloyd Pest control again, and will file a complaint with the corporate offices and the Revdex.com. What a terrible way to do business!!! I feel cheated/scammed/tricked and unfairly treated! We would have caught this mistake immediately if we had not signed up for automatic payment. Do NOT EVER give Lloyd’s your credit card number…they will continue to bill you for services not requested or rendered unless they have a written (or recorded) request for cancellation and you can prove it to them somehow. They state that they cannot find any record of my phone call…how convenient for them to continually charge me for doing nothing!Desired Settlement: Full refund of over-payment in the amount of $79.96 (four months of service charges from 4/14 to 8/14 @ $19.99/mo).

Business

Response:

We are happy as an offer of good faith to honor this customer's wishes and refund the entire $79.96 requested, covering four months of service.

Lloyd Pest Control has been providing service for pest and termite control at our home for many years. Their personnel are always helpful and professional.

Great prices. Very responsible and respectful of my property.

We hired Lloyd Pest control about 6 months ago to take care of a rodent problem. At first they were very responsive; then they assigned us a new representative and service has been horrible. They show up middle of the day during a work week when we have told them numerous time we work full time and need a Saturday or evening appointment so we will be home to let them into our house. It's now May and it has been months since they showed up despite requests to come on Saturday - and this morning my two young daughters and I woke up to find a dead mouse on our door step. I called and was on hold for 30 minutes, talked to two representatives who gave me nothing but attitude, and told they wouldn't help until I paid for the services that they DID NOT perform. THEIR SERVICE IS AWFUL - FIND SOMEONE ELSE.

Review: In March 2012 I contracted with the company for treatment of roaches at my rental located at [redacted]. The treatment was to be one time for $128 or $145 followed by monthly service at 14.95/month. As explained to me, the rental would be treated monthly. A year later, I received a past due notice as my credit card number had changed. I called Lloyd Pest Control to provide them with the new credit card number and earned that my property had not been treated since the initial treatment and one follow up. I was told, to my complete surprise, that it was an "on demand" service meaning that they collected the $14.95 each month but did not return to treat the property because I did not call them. After several conversations and a request that they review the tape of my conversation with [redacted] prior to signing up for the service, Lloyd agreed to waive the past due amount of $44 and later agreed to provide me with one service. I cancelled my account and the technician treated my property - no fully infested, on April 5, 2013. I recently learned from the mew tenant that the property is still infested. I called Lloyd Pest and they refused to re-treat the property maintaining that my account is closed. In was deceived in entering the contract and Lloyd Pest refuses to stand by its service.Desired Settlement: Lloyd Pest failed to provide me with the service it represented I would receive. As a result, my property is infested and I must pay a reputable company to resolve the situation. Lloyd should refund all of my money since the product did not work and I did not receive the service as represented.

Response:

Hi. We are more than happy to refund this money. We will gladly do this to restore goodwill with the former customer, and with the Revdex.com community.

Review: Lloyd Pest Control is billing me for "Residential, Quarterly Maintenance" services on 9/12/14. No services were provided by Lloyd on our property that day. We were home during the scheduled time and no invoice was left on the property.

We have since terminated our arrangement due to this no show event and ongoing general dissatisfaction with the service. We had complained before about the quality of the service, but Lloyd made no effort to rectify. The no show event was the final blow. (We were no longer under the year contract, which expired 7/31/2014.) Lloyd has agreed to terminate the arrangement, but they continue to bill us for services on 9/12/14, which were not provided.Desired Settlement: We would like Lloyd Pest Control to stop billing us for services on 9/12/14, which were not provided.

Response:

Hmm... The short answer is - absolutely. In fact, all of this was entered into our computer system three weeks ago when the request was first made to us by the customer.

Review: I called loyd pest for a roach problem , a man came on 3/12/14 when he came I sighned an agreement for 6 months for 178.00 dollars so on 03/21/14 I had them come out again for a bee removal for 175.00 dollars and he stated he couldnt remove it till he collected, so I asked if he accepted credit card he said no so I paid cash in full.I also on that day had him spray one of my other propertys for ants . I waited 1 month and the ants didnt die so I called to have them spray again ,then another month went by I mad 2 payments one of 89.00 and another of 80.00 dollars on the day.I noticed the ants were still there so I called to cancel my contract and found out that the 175.00 dollars I gave the man for the bees never got received or recorded .and some how the 178.00 I originally gave them for the 6 month agrement was used for the bee removal .so now they claim I owe them 169.00 for both houses for the next 3 months when my first 6 months hasnt expired, I still have3 more months and I over payed 89.00 dollars.Desired Settlement: I want something done about the guy who pocketed my money.if he did to me there could be others who were victoms of us dishonesty. I feel taken advantage of , and to think I trusted this guy in my home.im nit for sure what his name is but his signature looks like [redacted].

Response:

Dear Mrs. [redacted],

Review: Good Evening,

I am writing with regard to order number [redacted] with Lloyd Pest Control. When this call was scheduled, it was scheduled with the understanding that we still had additional service calls available under our Residential Restart Contract ([redacted]). Had this not been the case we would not have requested the service call. When the technician left our house on 8/6/12, he left a bill for $99. We called Lloyd Pest Control later in the week to try and resolve the billing issue and also address the fact that the ant problem which was supposed to have been treated (and was the primary purpose for the initial call) was not only persisting but getting worse. All we got was an extremely rude person on the other end of the phone. On 8/12/13, my card on file was charged $99, on an invoice that has a term of 30 days net WITHOUT my authorization.

Thank you

AdamDesired Settlement: 1) I would like an immediate refund of the $99 for the following reasons:

a) the appointment was made with the understanding it was part of our Residential Restart Contract Service

b) the issue which they came out to treat was never remedied

c) we tried to resolve the issue and only received a rude response over the phone

d) my bank debit card was charged WITHOUT my authorization more than 3 weeks before the bill was actually due (which is most irritating)

2) I want all my credit card information immediately removed from their database

Business

Response:

A check for $99 will be sent to the customer’s address this week. We have canceled this customer’s account. His credit card info has been removed from our system.

Review: They use the cheapest masking tape to secure the windows and they did not install

pins to secure the windows. The result someone open the window with ease and they took my stuff.Desired Settlement: Full refund , because of negligence. There Manager let me speak to someone in his department, that toll me the procedure on how they secure the home. He mention to me that they use masking tape and pins to secure windows . Which they didn't use the pins they were require to be install. The bill is $1374. I only paid $458. So far. I am making 2 more payments. I don't want to go to court for this . So I was seeing if this agency could help me out. I feel that they are at fault for someone easily coming into my house and taking my stuff. They advertise on there back of there business card" Executed by our own highly skilled people" this job was sub contracted to a different company . False advertising is another complaint I have . Thank you

Business

Response:

We were mortified that your home was broken into. This is a rare occurrence – when it happens, it makes the evening news. We're stunned. But we also feel a little bit like a guy who just sold you a new Ford. You drove it off the lot, and somebody broke the window and stole your wallet. Would you try to sue Ford for making windows of breakable glass?

Review: The service provider treated our house three times since the service started at the beginning of August. Every technician said it will take 7 days to see the difference, but I still have pest problem. After 2 weeks of the initial service, we saw the same amount of pest activities and called for additional services. And again another service. Total of 3 service was provided (including initial), but I still have the pest problem.

I am not satisfied with the service provided and asked for the cancellation of service and full refund. They said the service will be cancelled but not providing the refund.Desired Settlement: Refund the full amount paid - Initial Setup $99.00 and September Charge $19.95.

Business

Response:

We had already cancelled the customer's account, per the their request. No refund had been sought (according to the detailed notes entered into the account by our manager). We are happy to refund the money per our standard "Money-Back" guarantee. Not certain why this had to go to a 3rd party. A check will be cut this Friday fulfilling everything that the customer requests. I'm really sorry that in this case we were unable to satisfy the customer's wishes. We had offered to send out a supervisor at no cost to assess the situation and fix the bug problem once and for all, but the customer declined our offer. We wish Mr. [redacted] all the best.

Lloyd's billing procedure is perplexing. It is puzzling to determine if the bill Lloyds sends is for past work or if they are starting the client on a new, one-year contract. From the beginning, they seemed to want to hold us to a full, over $300 charge for a full year, even though we might not use their service for the whole year.
