We processed his refund on October 28.  We are trying to contact Mr [redacted] (he didn't answer our call yesterday) to see if he has now received his refund.  Our corporate office says refunds take 4 to 6 weeks to arrive.  Here is a screen shot from our computer system showing we did...

Review: On May 1st or April 30 of 2014 I had resupscribe the Stockton Record. I was told that I will received the Stockton Record for 18.00 dollars a month plus two weeks free. If I give an auto Debit payment. They also said that any previous bill will not be charge.

I asked "how long will I get the news paper for 18.00 dollar a month. They told me as long as I give them auto payment it will stay at 18.00 dollars a month.

So I gave them my debit card number for auto payment so I'm trusted them an was please to receive the news paper. But today wensday May 14 2014 my news paper didn't come. So I called 1-800-606-9742 to find out why.

I was told by [redacted] superviser in Glendale AR. That there was $23.40 tooken out of my account My 2, 2014 and then when they tried to take another $14.80 out my account there was no funds. So they discontinue my paper. I asked why are you taking more money out of my account than $18.00 dollars a month which I was promise.

My account was $5.40 over drawn and now I have $35.00 dollars over draft fee. and you still trying to take another $14.80 out of my account. and you stop my newspaper.Desired Settlement: hat happen to the deal yall gave me for a set price of $18.00 a month that you suspose to take out every 2nd of the month that I was promise. I only recieved 2 weeks of paper for the price of $23.40 and not $18.00 dollar once a month like you promise. I feel that they lied to me and stolen money that they didn't have the right to have. I trusted them and my phone was recorded for quality insurance.

How many of us customer was told about auto payment at one price than charge another?

On March 1, Mr. [redacted] subscribed to The Record for $4.50 per week plus tax. On March 13, a payment was debited covering the period thru March 29. His account declined payment for the next 30 days and he still received the paper so his account was behind for a 30 day period. On April 1, he was converted to a bill by mail account since the auto pay wouldn't go through. On April 30, our telemarketing group called him and he authorized us to start up auto pay again. We normally don't tell customers their back balance will go away, but we will accept that he was told that. Our company failed to write off the back balance as he says was promised, so the computer charged him for the back balance first and one week later tried to charge his account for the month of May. That charge was declined from the bank and so his paper was stopped. He called us on May 14 to discuss the issue. On May 14, we issued a total credit of $37.01 to his account. This cleared the original back balance from April and also gave him the first two weeks of May free. We moved his rate down to $4.00 per week plus tax. His subscription is paid through June 28. The computer will attempt to charge his account on June 19 or close to that date. The timing insures that the account doesn't go into a negative balance. We have attempted to meet or exceed what was promised and what the customer wanted. [redacted], Publisher

Review: I received the "enclosure" in the mail. I enrolled soley for the "vacation" part of the ad. If I had wanted the paper, I'd have it already. Anyway, I was told when I signed up on 7/25 that the "vacation" people would be in touch in a few days. On 7/3. I talked to "Joe & his supervisor "Jim" who said that I was still going to be called to set up my vacation. Approx 8/5 or 6 the lady that answered the phone said that "my name would be put in a drawing which is how I'd receive the vacation and if my name was pulled that the drawing had not happened yet".

Well the ad states Plus receive a complimentary vacation "and nothing about a drawing. I am very upset about this scam to get people to sign up 4 papers they don't even want.Desired Settlement: Let media know about this so that others won't get scammed even though I know its 2 late 4 some but perhaps other can be saved from this awful false advertisement. I want my money back, $20, and the paper stopped even though I only recall receiving a "few" issues at that. Boy, what a scam. Your immediate attention to this matter is needed.

The customer is correct with her complaint. Someone at our customer service center gave her incorrect information. We car calling her this morning and will send her a vacation certificate as we advertised. We apologize for the misunderstanding. The error was ours. [redacted]

Review: I had paid for a years worth of the paper to be delivered and they missed 3 days delivery, so I called over a month ago to stop the paper and I was due 103.00. I've called them 3 times and they say the check is in the mail. As of today still no refund Thank you.Desired Settlement: My refund please.
