LMI Notary Service Reviews (%countItem)

I have been a notary in Washington since 1988 and have renewed my commission many times over the years. I received an advertisement from LMI Notary Supply, offering to complete the whole process for me so I decided to try it. I paid LMI $152 on February 10, 2020 for this package which was to include my bond, license, filing fee and notary stamp. The company sent me my new notary bond and asked me to sign it and email it back so they could begin the license process. I signed it and returned it immediately. By mid-February I had not received any type of update so I called Gregg at LMI. He apologized and informed me there was a "computer glitch" and he didn't get my signed bond. No one had even told me about this until now! I sent it again. In early March I still had not received any response on the status of my renewal. After many, many phone calls and emails to Gregg, he apologized and told me he was personally working on it and said the licensing was likely delayed due to COVID but assured me it would get handled. My current license was due to expire March 26, 2020 so I was getting nervous. My job requires a current notary license and without it I wouldn’t be able to work. Each time I spoke to Gregg he kept saying they were working on it. Finally on March 25, 2020 THE DAY BEFORE my current commission expired I went online and completed the renewal process with the state myself. Ironically, I got my certificate that same day yet I paid LMI to do this on my behalf nearly 2 months earlier. Gregg said LMI would definitely reimburse me for the license fee since I had already paid them to file it. The next hurdle was my getting my stamp made so I could begin working again and emailed Gregg asking for an update. He knew the importance of getting my stamp right away as my job depended on it. So after one week I finally paid another company directly to make my stamp and they shipped it to me right away. Then, about a week later, I now received a stamp in the mail from LMI. I called Gregg immediately and expressed my utter disbelief and frustration over this entire debacle- paying twice for licensing, twice for my stamp, let alone all of the stress in the waiting and the excuses LMI kept giving me! I have spoken to Gregg at least 4 times since March asking about my refund and EVERY SINGLE TIME he has apologized and told me he would be reimbursing me and will “make this right” I have not received one penny back and it’s been 4 months.

Complaint ID#*** The owner of LMI Notary reached out and resolved my complaint. He was very apologetic that this had happened and has offered to refund the charges I was requesting. I would like to withdraw the complaint and close the issue. Please advise on the next step. Thank you.

I submitted my notary renewal with LMI Notary to be completed in October of 2019. Since December of 2019, I have been following up with Gregg. Gregg promises to look into the matter, and does NOTHING! I have recently contacted the Secretary of State to find out that no Application was submitted, despite having paid fees to LMI Notary. It is going on almost 6 months that I have been trying to get this handled. I have over 20 emails to Gregg asking for follow up, and that doesn't even count the phone calls and voice messages. Gregg never does anything he says he will do. I have asked for a refund...and of course, Gregg promises, but Gregg does not follow through.

I'm very sorry to receive such a complaint and apologize for your inconvenience. I agree your order should be fully refunded and I've contacted you and left a voice mail for you in this regard.

We ordered 2-notary renewals from LMI back in Dec.2019. We have tried to contact them multiple times and no response. therefore we went elsewhere and on same day we secured notary bonds LMI charged us for there notary bonds and we have attempted again to discuss and cancel yet there is no return calls or answer at there office.

We have fully refunded both of these files back to the original payment card today!

I filled out paperwork to renew my notary public and submitted it to LMI Notary Service along with payment, at the end of October 2019. In December 2019, I contacted my Secretary of State's office and they had not yet received my application or payment. I called LMI and the gentleman I spoke to sounded very concerned and said he would make sure the paperwork was mailed that day. With an expiration date of February 6, 2020, I contacted the Secretary of State's office again in mid-January. They still had not received anything. I have since then called every single day and left messages and/or spoken with a live person and have been promised a call back over and over. I have not received a call back or any type of explanation. Nothing has happened and my Notary is expired. I believe 3.5 months is plenty of time for a business to do what I have paid them to do.

To whom it may concern:

I apologize for this delay and confusion with your file in our office along with the lack of expected follow through. This is not normal practice otherwise we would not be around for over 67 years and is completely unacceptable! We have located your file and can proceed with your process now along with a full refund as an attempt to do our best at this point. I understand this doesn't make it right but, hopeful we can complete this process for you. Otherwise, I also understand if you'd simply prefer a full refund and a cancellation of your process. I look forward to hearing back either way and my sincerest apologies once again.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, assuming LMI follows through along with a full refund, I find this resolution satisfactory to me.

Sincerely

To whom it may concern:

We provided options with solutions in our response here, phone messages, and emails to which we received zero response back from you. So, we've fully refunded your $136.00 on Feb 26th (which was one of the options) since we had not heard back from you. Your paperwork is in the mail back to you for completion with the State. It will also be more expeditious if we could communicate with each other rather than not responding to us, yet responding through Revdex.com.
