Local Garage Door Company Reviews (12)

To the Revdex.com,I, [redacted] have reached an amical solution with Local Garage Doors, and am dropping my grievance.Thank you, [redacted]

You are not a licensed garage door professional so your explanation of our install is not backed with experience in this industryUnfortunately, we don't buy and install product for freeAgain you are using our motor and expect us to refund the money for the motor that your still using and let you keep it?That's not a feasible option for usI'm sorryI have nothing further to say, this isn't really getting anywhereI wish you the best of luckThank you for your time,Local Garage Doors [redacted] Call Toll Free: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: No, I am not in the garage door industryThat is why I relied upon your tech to tell me what I needed, which he did not doAccording to people in the garage door industry, there were parts installed incorrectly or just plain missingI cannot expect another garage door company too cannibalize one of their kits to repair your bad installAll I'm asking is for the money back for your parts, which are incomplete and are sitting in my garageIf we go to court I will be asking for a whole lot more

Business states that they did receive a call from this customer but no work was ever done for this customerThere was a technician sent out there but when he arrived there was already a different repair company on site, so he left

Thanks for your e-mailIt was nice talking to you this
morning.Attached is the invoice which was issued while service was provided.Below are the sequence of events on that day; 1. Found out that Garage door was not working and called *** *** which was on the Garage door assuming they have installed while constructed house on 10/07/afternoon around PM2. A person called *** has received my call and checked for the our address in their system but he mentioned they didn’t provide any service in the past.3. I explained to him the problem and after troubleshooting on the phone, he recommended that Motor is not working and needs to be replaced.4. He mentioned that they are running a promotion ($295.00)and can send a technician soon.5. Technician arrived around PM and surprised me saying there is an additional service charge of $ which was NOT discussed and I asked him if there are any charged in addition to and the answer was “NO” from ***.6. After service, I made a payment because I was made stuck with their attitude and I got an invoice from Value Max which was really Surprising (attached for your reference)7. I called *** again on the same number *** *** because it was confusing for me and wanted to confirm, his response was “please call later as this is after hours“.8. Surprisingly, the motor stopped working and tried reaching ***, his response was “We didn’t service you and not sure if we ever spoke”, I am really shocked by his response and then I started explaining him slowly that we spoke in first week of October, his reply was “No” and hung up the call.9. Then I called him again asking, his response was “please contact Value Max”, I asked him, how do you know that Value max serviced us?.10. He fumbled and hung up the call again11. Messaged me the Value Max doors phone number *** *** ***12. Called Value Max and asked about ***, a lady called Ashley received my call and conveyed apologies on *** Behalf (I have no proof for this other than the call recording which Value Max can provide)13. Booked an appointment with her on Saturday morning and technician didn’t even show UP.14. Tired with Value Max Doors @ *** *** ***15. Feel like a real SCAM Regards,*** ***

I definitely understand your concerns, and we do appreciate her feedbackWe really value our customers and intend to be as price competitive as possible while providing excellent customer service.During *** initial appointment with ***, he informed her that she had an oversized (foot) garage
door which would require an oversized (foot rail)However, he didn't have one with him on his work truckBecause she wanted to save time (she didn't want to wait for him to get an foot rail) and money (the foot rail is moderately more expensive than a foot rail) she gave *** the go ahead to do the work with the motor he had on himAlmost a month later she called back stating the garage door only opens feet and not feetWe informed her that is because she did not want to wait or spend the extra money on an foot railYou she wanted a rail extension on her motorWe quoted her $for a rail extension (LESS THAN SIERRA ROSEVILLE WHO ENDED UP DOING A RAIL EXTENSION FOR HER); however, she told us that she doesn't want us near her house againAs unfortunate as it is to have a situation like this, I'm not going to pressure her into making her use us again for the rail extensionHer motor is still working perfectly (you can read on yelp that sierra roseville installed the rail extension)What she paid for from us, she still has and is usingThe only reason she is complaining is because she had to get a rail extension which we offered to herI've tried to remedy the situation with ***; however, nothing is good enough in her eyes except keeping the motor we installed over a month ago now and getting her money back (this is obviously not feasible). Our company has great, hardworking and skilled techniciansThey go through extensive training before ever being sent into the fieldAlso, I see in her complaint she says were trying to sell her another motor and I have no clue how she is coming up with this? This is so far fetchedIf she has any estimate or quote in writing regarding another new motor I would love to see it.As for the remote on the wall button, we initially used her homes built in pre wire (which goes through the walls to hide the wiring) and the wall button pre wire was badWe gave her the option of exposed wiring (along the wall so she would physically be able to see it) or a wireless remote mounted where the wall button goesShe didn't want wiring to be exposed and opted to go with the wireless remote for her wall button.Although I understand where she is coming from, I hope she can see our perspective as a companyI hope this helps answer some of the concerns.Best Regards,*** with Local Garage Doors

I am rejecting this response because: There was never any discussion on foot vs foot and different pricesThe technician told me that I had an odd sized door, and that I would have trouble finding a motor for it, but that he had something on his truck that he could make workAfter he was done, he showed me that the garage door wouldn't open all the wayI thought that I would just have to deal with it, having an 'odd sized door.' The reason I did not complain until a month later is that the garage door would not openIt was days after installation, but the same tech came out and charged me $for doling nothingHe told me roommate that he had not wanted to install that motor, but that I had insisted because I 'did not want to spend the extra money.'I have NEVER gone for cheap when it comes to taking care of this houseIf the technician would have told me it was just a matter of getting foot rails, I would have had it done properlyHe flat out lied about me not wanting to spend the moneyWhen I heard this, I called and asked to speak to the managerI told him that I would pay the difference to have the job done properlyI waited all day to have someone come outThey finally called, and told me that it would cost an additional $in labor, PLUS an extra $in parts, for a total of $$for a garage door opener! I told them to come get their stuff out of my garage and give me my money back, as they themselves had been the ones that said the job had not been done properlyI called and left messages, they never returned my phone calls.Another garage door company said that by far it was the worst install they had ever seenA keypad was not installed, although I was charged for itIt is listed on the invoiceInstead, the technician screwed an extra remote onto the wall, charging me for that, alsoThe old sensors were just left hanging thereInstead of installing new wiring for new sensors, the technician spliced into the old wiring, leaving bare wires sticking outAt best, this could cause the opener not to workAt worst, it could cause a fireThe chain was not tensioned properlyMy roommate pointed this out, and was told "That is the way we do it." There was no tension bar installed. As I stated, it took me a month to complain because I was under the impression that I had a weird door and the technician had done the best he could to make it workI was NEVER told that it was a matter of moneyI would have happily payed whatever it took to do the job properly at the timeNot $927, thoughI had already given these people almost $for an install that has become legend in the garage door industry for how bizarre and sloppy it wasI was not going to give them another $in labor for something that should have been done in the first place, and I have no idea what part was needed that would cost an extra $Another garage door company charged $for a competent install.I will be bringing someone to court that will testify that he has been working on this house for years and that I have never chosen doing it cheap over doing it rightI have always been willing to spend whatever it took to do the job right

As you can see, not our invoice, not our license number. I don't know why you are contacting us. We never did work for you, never collected a penny from you. If you paid by check or credit card, you can see that it was paid to another company. I can't refund money to a customer we collected $0 from.Best Regards,[redacted] with Local Garage Doors
