Local Plumbing Reviews (%countItem)

Local Plumbing is refusing a partial refund for services not rendered. They have been fired, and I had to hire another company.
Local Plumbing was hired for complete repiping from the meter throughout the house after coming to a payment agreement. The estimate was done on 2-11-20. On 2-22-20, while I was at my mother's memorial, I received a text asking for $1000 to cover material cost. An ACH was taken out on the same day for the $1000. An appointment was scheduled for 12:00 on 2-24-20. They showed up at 4:30, dug a trench, and then discussed other items. I followed the owner back to his house where he took possession of my 2017 5 x 8 enclosed trailer for $1800 credit toward my bill. They were also paid $1425 from 2-10 HBW company to replace the water heater. He said he would relocate the water heater with no problem...it required just pulling the electrical wire through the existing hole in the floor. Local plumbing was scheduled for 2-25, 2-26, and 2-28 to complete the job. Everyday we waited for hours for them to show. They would wait hours to either respond or just didn't show. The job would have been complete before any rain began. However, after several back and forth texts and more cancelled / no show appointments, one of their employees went out and layed / buried the line in the rain on 03-01-20. We had a 200 ft main line run, halfway buried, but still no water. Our son has uncontrolled seizures, we have dogs out there that needed water and Local Plumbing was aware of this. While waiting for them to show for one appointment, our son busted his face during a seizure without any water to wash him up. Several appointments (3-6, 3-9, 3-12) we're either no shows or rescheduled after they were supposed to show. On 3-13, they came out and connected the main line to the existing lines. We had water to 2 sinks and 1 toilet that they left clogged with dirt from the lines. So the toilet wasn't flushable without a five gallon bucket. On 3-25, the hotel we are staying at alerted us, after hours, that a previous guest tested positive for COVID 19. On 3-26 we exchanged some heated texts about needing to get out of this hotel. On 4-1 another missed appointment. On 4-2, the owner and his son came out to install the hot water heater. I had to help bury the main line properly. They left again without completing the job. The owner said he would need a week before the restoration company came to start the repairs. On 4-16, we texted to see if he could complete the job the following week, because the restoration company was starting that Thursday. He said yes but never showed, never responded to texts or calls because their phones were out... supposedly. Local Plumbing was then scheduled on 5-1, 5-4, and 5-6 all of which were no shows and no responses to texts for hours. Apparently, the owners aunt was deathly ill, and in the process of passing. Being compassionate, I talked with the owner and we ended up scheduling another appointment for 5-9. His wife texted and cancelled that appointment and rescheduled for 5-10. Local Plumbing was a no show for that appointment as well, and they went back to their pattern of not answering texts or phone calls. I felt I was in no other position but to fire them after 80 days to do the job, $2800 of my money, $1425 of the home owners warranty company's money and all we had was running water to the bathroom sinks and one toilet. I had to hire another plumber and pay for all of the materials needed ($1200 my cost) but the job was completed in 23.5 hours. So Local Plumbing was paid a total of $2425 cash and $1800 in an enclosed trailer for relocating / installing a water heater and laying / burying 200 ft of 1" Apex. And then they didn't even install the water heater to code. They didn't put a junction box or an expansion tank in for the water heater. The only thing they did for my $2800 was the 200 ft of main, which Local Plumbing quoted me $1200 before all of this mess. So it is my opinion that I am due $1600 for services not rendered plus an additional $65 for having to purchase the parts to bring the new water heater up to code

Desired Outcome

Pay me the money owed for services not rendered, breach of contract.

Consumer beware of this company. The company was hired to do a complete repiping from the water main throughout the house. They collected the down payment, showed up four hours late the first day and dug a 200 ft trench in my yard. They were supposed to have the job done in three days. They no showed the following day, and then the next. This became a continuous problem. They schedule an appointment and don't keep it, they don't cancel, they don't respond to text messages, and won't answer their phone calls. After 15 plus appointments, they showed for three and did a little bit. After eighty days, the main line is complete, the water heater has been installed, and I have water to one bathroom. They will make every excuse from their truck breaking down, rain, employees quit, and worse while trying to say they are going out of there way to help you. In the meantime, they have $4200 of the $7000 job. I have done everything to work with this company in these extraordinary times.. but with a special needs child I was pushed into a position that required firing this company. Now they have a smug attitude as they don't owe me anything. I wouldn't suggest this company to my worst enemy. Stay away, and save yourself the headaches
