Lockard's Kawasaki Reviews (2)

In response to Mr. [redacted]'s complaint on his [redacted] Predator 500, there is a lot of the story he is leaving out.  Mr. [redacted] brought is atv to us with the engine torn down and in a basket.  We typically do not take in basket case repairs; however, we felt sorry for the young man and agreed...

to look at it. Upon inspection we found that parts were missing and the engine case was not in useable condition.  When pricing and checking availability of the parts needed, we found that the engine case was no longer offered from [redacted].  After determining this, it was advised to the customer that parts were not available and that the repair cost was going to be greater than the machine was worth.  Our suggestion was to scrap the machine or sell it for salvage.  Mr. [redacted] then decided to turn to [redacted] for the parts needed.  He then brought us parts purchased from [redacted], and then asked us to get it running so he could sell the atv and recoup some of his investment.  After inspecting the case he purchased, we found it was for another year machine, but we were able to make it work. We assembled the engine after suggesting to the customer is was not worth the investment: and we had it running and tested it before it left.  It sheared the flywheel key and was returned and fixed at no cost.  I am assuming that that is possibly what is wrong with it now, but we informed him that we could not continue to replace this problem for free.  Parts not purchased from [redacted] will not have any warranty from either the manufacture, or Lockards and was only replaced once out of courtesy.    Thank You   [redacted]

In response to claim #[redacted] we have never offered a warranty on used off road vehicles unless there was remaining factory warranty left.  We that being said we understand the fact that she hadn't got much use from her machine before the failure occurred.  As a result of this we offered...

to assume responsibility with some of the cost.  The estimated repair is $4,073.17 and we have ask her to pay $1,200 not the claimed @2,500.  This would make Lockard's participating in just over seventy percent of this repair, witch is far greater than used car lots or other power sport dealers would offer. Thank You [redacted]
