Review: Mr. [redacted] gave me an appraisal for labor only for tiling two bathroom floors and one shower, claiming he had 31 years of experience. I trusted these two jobs would be done promptly. He required full payment up front for my hall bathroom floor. He never finished the job, leaving grouting and sealing unfinished. Then he began on the shower after I advanced him $1200.00 of the job and paying him an additional $100.00 for extra work. He never finished the shower and made a mess of the shower, installing it improperly. He refused to return to the job site and make good on his work. After 3 days of stonewalling and refusal to return calls or respond to text messages, I told him if he wasn't going to do the job to come pick up his van. He did, immediately. Weeks later I had a licensed tiling contractor come to bid the job to finish. Keith [redacted] told me he could not "finish the job" as it was totally improperly done and would require a complete tear out of what [redacted] put up, so a total loss of materials and labor. He told me he didn't want the job as it was "a mess." I asked another contractor, [redacted], to come out and he told me the same thing. (Letter [redacted]) Last Saturday I hired a handyman to rip out the tile and the concrete board/drywall so [redacted] could go back to the stud walls and do the shower correctly. He took many pictures of the bad tile job [redacted] did before the handyman started ripping it off the walls. I have a total loss of materials and labor in [redacted] job for the shower and will have to pay someone else to finish the floor and edge tile in my hall bathroom and the shower and floor in the master bath on that house.Desired Settlement: Since it is clear that [redacted] had no idea how to do a shower and his partial installation of tile had to be ripped out to start over, I request a total refund in monies paid him (save $100 for removing part of the wall to accommodate the custom shower door) and a refund on all the tile, concrete board, grout/mud for base of shower and shower pan I purchased at Floor and Decor or Lowe's he ruined by an improper installation. I also paid a plumber to install the pan which has to be redone.
