Locklears Garbage Service

Review: I sent a letter to Locklears on 21 Jan 2014 requesting that my garbage service be suspended for several weeks because I was going to be out of town. At that time, I had paid for my garbage service through 31 Mar. In March, I received a bill for the months of Apr thru Jun for $61.74 which is the full amount for the 3 month period. In other words, my bill was not prorated for the weeks I had suspended my service. Between 4 - 12 Mar, I placed several phone calls to Locklears trying to get this matter rectified. I received no phone call back, so I sent a letter to Locklears on 12 Mar. In that letter, I prorated the bill myself and enclosed a check for $37.99 which should have paid me up until 30 Jun. I explained in the letter how I calculated the prorated amount and stated that they should contact me if they disagreed with the prorated amount. I mailed this letter using USPS tracking and it was delivered to Locklears on 15 Mar. On 12 May, I called Locklears and told them I wanted to cancel my service effective immediately. We sold our house so the last date I should have had to pay for garbage service was 7 May. I asked them to send me a pro-rated refund since I had paid for service through 30 June. To date, I have not received a phone call back and my check for $37.99 has not been cashed. Everytime I have called Locklears, I get a voicemail message saying to leave a message and they will return my call after 6:30pm. I have done that every time and have not received a call back. I even called a couple of weeks ago and left a message saying that I was going to contact the Revdex.com if I did not receive a phone call back. Still no phone call and my check still has not been cashed.Desired Settlement: I would like for Locklears to cash my check for $37.99 and then send me a pro-rated refund to my new address for the weeks I paid for garbage service and did not use the service. I would like to get this situation cleared up.
