Review: Locksmith Bowie quoted me that they have a $45 service fee to come out and $19 and up (depending on the complexity of the lock). I had 4 simple locks, all the same brand and we actually had the keys for each lock. We just wanted to have the locks rekeyed to the same master. The technician claimed that the rekeying of the lock was very complex and they had to do a lot of work so they wanted to charge $69 per lock to rekey. The technician took all of 14 minutes to rekey 4 locks and charged $246 for the work. When asked about the service fee, the technician claimed that its just something that they communicate to get people to have us come out but we have the flexibility to adjust and change the prices based on the complexity of the work. When I contacted the company again , the representative that I spoke with was very dismissive and did not apologize for providing me with an incorrect quote, and obviously doesn't care about satisfying customers.Desired Settlement: I think a fair settlement would be for the company to charge me the $45 service fee that was quoted on the phone and $19 for each lock that was rekeyed (since we had the key for each lock)for a total of $121.00 + tax. I was charged $246 for a job that took 15 minutes (max).
Review: on Saturday june 8 2013 I called ###-###-#### a 24/7 emergency locksmith and was quoted 15.00 to come out and 35.00 to open the door. I was prepared to pay 50.00. when the tech got there and opened the door in 3 mins I was told it was 230.00. I told him I was told it was 50.00 and he insisted the price was 230.00. I only had 180.00 on me and he took that. I called back once I got home and was told that the price starts at 35.00 and depends on what equiptment the tech uses. I have asked for someone to explain how it jumps from 35.00 to 230.00 and I keep getting the run aroound...they are rude and have hung up on me several times. Finally I was sent an email offering me 50.00 but the technican is vitoing that. I asked for 90.00 because they should not have told me 50.00 on the phone. I have called there business several times trying to resolve this in a peaceful and calm way and again they transfer me over and over or hang up the phone. I told them I will call everyday,and they said go ahead and call everyday. This company is a rip off and people do not deserve to be taken advantage of in this way. If I had known that the serv was 230.00 I would not have allowed him to open the door...he only told me after but claims he told me before...in that case I only had 180.00 he would not have opened the door if we had discussed cost because I did not have the full amount he asked for. The technician is a liar and I feel a theif. The technician actually ripped my receipt up but I called and requested a copy of the receipt...customer serv has told me several times that they would have the technician contact me but he is on vaction now and they claim they cant get intouch with himDesired Settlement: I strongly feel I should only have to pay what I was told over the phone by one of their reps which was 50.00 when the technician got there he did not give me a $ amt instead it took him 3 mins to open the car and then told me it was 230.00. I did not have 230.00 and told him what the reps from the phone told me 50.00 he insisted it was 230.00 I only had 180.00 I would like 90.00 refund that is fair
