This business is guilty of false advertising. They only scam you out of $30 so it is not worth it to pursue this issue in small claims court. The operator "Ben" is a very smug character. I would like to meet him in person for some in depth discourse.

Review: The website advertise they will unlock your car for $19, showing a woman sitting in her car holding her keys. When the technician arrived, he said the $19 was to drive to my house. It was $70 for the 30 seconds to unlock my car. He charged $89, and then did not give change. The website is a lie. There is no indication there are additional charges. I have been ripped off.Desired Settlement: I was overcharged at least $40 for this service. They should have charged what their website says they will charge. I paid $90 for a service they advertised for $19.

Response:

At this time, I have not been contacted by Locksmith Genie LLC regarding complaint ID [redacted].

Sincerely,

Review: On January **, 2015 at about 10:30 pm, I got locked out of my home on [redacted]. I called Greenville [redacted] and [redacted] was the Tech that came out. When he got to my front door, I asked him if it was going to take long, he stated that it might take a while because it was a newer model door [redacted] So he proceeded to unlock the door with his tools and after 15 minutes of trying to unlock the lock with various tools, he was unsuccessful. He then looked at me and my best friend in frustration and stated that he could sit there for another few minutes trying to pick the lock or he could just break it. I stated that I did not want him to break it. He then stated that he could break it, get us in the house and he would replace it with a really cheap door [redacted] and the next day come back and replace it with the same exact model that I had, and that he would also re-key it to fit my key. I asked him if it would cost any extra and he said no, it would just be a flat rate of $135.00. That's when I agreed and gave him permission to break the door [redacted] He used a hammer and punched out the cyclinder inside the door [redacted] and got us in the house, then sat an appointment for 10:30 a.m. the next day. I got his phone number and he gave me a receipt and he left. The next morning, he never showed up. I called him at noon, and he said he had to fix a car and would be over after that. I called him 2 hours later and a few more times after that and he did not pick up. I then called the company at ###-###-#### and spoke to Jonathan's supervisor [redacted]. I explained what happened to [redacted] and [redacted] just said that he would call [redacted] and have him called me back. [redacted] did not call back, he never called back. I then spoke to [redacted] again and [redacted] then stated that [redacted] told him that at the time he came out to unlock my front door, he told me it was going to cost extra for him to replace it with a new but same exact door [redacted] as I had. I told [redacted] that that was an absolute lie and that's probably why he has been avoiding my calls. [redacted] stated that he couldn't do anything because his tech is telling him something different and I'm telling him something different. Then [redacted] stated that if I bought my own door [redacted] that he would be happy to have someone come put it on for me. I told him that I did not want to pay for something that I was promised. [redacted] did not have my consent to break down my door [redacted] only when he said he would replace it with a new, exact one, that I agreed to it. [redacted] stated that he would call [redacted] again, and see what he can do, and have [redacted] call me back. Of course, he did not call back. It has been almost a week, and nothing has been resolved. I don't understand why a locksmith, who knew my door [redacted] was a newer and more costly [redacted] would want to break it if he knew he couldn't afford to replace it? My best friend, [redacted], tried to call [redacted] and he hung up on her. This is the worst customer service ever.Desired Settlement: I would like my front door [redacted] replace with the same exact door [redacted] that I had and re-keyed to fit my house keys as promised and an apology for lying.

Review: Our college son was quoted over the phone $60 for locksmith service for his car at the USC. When the company came they unlocked the car and demanded 147.00 for 30 seconds of service. When contacting the company they said we use the word typically bit technicians can charge what they want. aka if its a college kid they scare the hell out of them and make them pay over double. It's ridiculous that a business like this can operate in the city of Columbia

Product_Or_Service: Locksmith serviceDesired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund

Half of charges returned. $72.00 still more than the quoted $60
