Locoelectro Reviews (%countItem)

I hired this electrician about three months ago that was recommended by the city to handle a number of violations on our house. We had the Contract set for $3900. The City inspector let us know that they wanted more outlets to be put in so he had to charge me more for that work. $4225 was paid in full. Now, the lights all over the house are having issues and I have noticed a number of other issues and have tried contacting this business about the issues and he told me that he is unwilling to do anything about it.

As *** stated, we entered into a contract to repair the code violations *** This bid was based on the city inspection list compiled by the city inspector.

Since *** was in Florida and had no local representative, I strongly urged him to find a "general contractor" to oversee the project as there were several trades involved besides myself. This person would have seen the things that needed to be added to the bid and been able to relay that information to ***.

The customer refused to get a general inspection and we proceeded as best we could. We resolved the items listed on the inspection and these items were witnessed and signed off on by the City inspector. All lights listed on the inspection or the home would not have passed.

A short time later when *** moved to this address he contacted me about the bathroom lights not working. He contacted me at 8am on Sunday morning, waking me from a sound sleep. I told him I would not speak to him about this at that time and that he should call me during business hours on Monday. He called at 8am on Monday, I returned his call on Monday evening. This did not sell well with him since I did not call him back immediately on Monday morning. I am a one man shop. I do not normally answer every call I get at the time it comes in, if I did I would not get my work done or parts ordered or anything that I need to do to make a living.

I agreed to make time to come over and check the bathroom lights, he was also mentioning the dining room light and a front porch light. These two items were not listed on the inspection list, therefore they were not addressed in the bid. The dining room light worked fine it was lower than what he wanted and I agreed to install a new one for him if he purchased it.

I spent two hours working on the bathroom lights, I found a section of knob and tube wiring in the attic called a "cold splice" had failed, dropping power to these lights. This failure had nothing to do with us, but I made a temporary repair to get his bathroom lights on. I told him that when he gets the dining room light purchased I will make time in my schedule to make the bathroom repair and install the new dining fixture.

He has not stated how he wishes to address the porch light at this time.

I regret that the customer had had this issue, but I completed the tasks that were on the inspection list, they worked and are code compliant. The issue with the cold splice was a fluke and I am working with *** to correct it to his satisfaction.

Since the cold splice was not our fault, I had planned to charge him a service call for the first time, however while getting in and out of a very difficult attic. I damaged about a foot of his bathroom ceiling due to a rotten board in the attic.

I agreed to wave the service call fee because of this and *** agreed. Please note the enclosed copy of my service report that he signed.

During my 20 years as a contractor, to my knowledge, this is the first Revdex.com complaint I have ever had. I regret that he was not 100% happy and I am doing my best to change that. I hold my reputation very dear. My company has an A+ rating on *** and we have won the "super service" award may times.

The Belleville City inspector has never had a complaint filed against my work and has stated several times that "he wished more contractors would handle their work like I do."

I will continue to work with *** about this situation until it is resolved, at no time did I ever tell him I would not take care of it.

This letter is a written response to the complaint filed by my customer *** from Belleville, IL.

As *** stated, we entered into a contract to repair the code violations ***.

This person would have seen the things that needed to be added to the bid and been able to relay the information to ***.

The customer refused to get a general and we proceeded as best we could. We resolved the items listed on the inspection and these items were witnessed and signed off on by the city inspector. All lights listed on the inspection were working at the final inspection or the home would not have passed.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: This company came out to fix the issue of the lights not working and now they will not turn off. When I called them to report this they were rude and refused to come out and fix their errors unless I pay them more money. I don't want to do business with them and wish to close this complaint.

Sincerely
