Lodi Transmissions Reviews (1)

The U.S Truck Driving School in Fountain, Colorado is not a good school to attend to obtain a CDL
Reasons:
1) Equipment ie: Tractor and trailers would never pass a DOT inspection
2) Liability falls with the driver of the unsafe equipment in the event of an accidentSuch a liability could result in lawsuits, fines, loss of license and possible jail sentences not to forget that we have to live with our choices the rest of our lives
3) School does not offer any form of liability or medical insurance
4) Directors order the instructors to change trucks and trailers daily subsequently, setting students up to fail with too much inconsistencyAdditionally, students are given multiple instructors from day to day with different teaching philosophiesAgain, too much inconsistency
5) Some, not all instructors have been caught saying "I have my CDL, I don't care if you get yours"Additionally, instructors have been caught withholding important safety information in order to keep their jobsWithholding information is the same as telling a lie in my belief systemSafety ALWAYS comes first with me
A few suggestions for the school:
1) Stop switching instructors and equipmentKeep the students in the same truck and with the same instructor throughout the entire process
2) Lease newer eequipment that will pass DOT inspections and are safe to take out on the road, at least two more trucks for three groups at a timeThe older trucks can be used around the property, but not on the public highways
3) Be professional at all times by avoiding demeaning comments to learners
4) Treat your instructors better and they won't turn over so much
5) Use some of the $per student in revenues towards fixing the older equipment so that students can learn to shift properly without a overused-abused clutch
*Air brakes are a very important part of the equipmethe airbrake warning buzzer sounds that truck should never be used under any circumstancesOut of service!
6) Students that are slower to learn should be kept togetherMixing slow learners with advanced learners only slow down the progress of the advanced learners
7) Use different teaching techniques like: powerpoint slides, you tube videos, etcStudents learn in different waysTry to assess the students learning styles before you start the program
8) Make sure the student is ready for the program by obtaining their permitPermits classes and testing strategies should be part of the curriculum
On a positive note; I found that the staff remained professional throughout the entire time I was thereThe students became like family to each other and encouraged each other to continue and not to quitI have walked a part of my life that I will never forgetI learned more about trucks in days than I ever thought was possibleIt amazes me that everyone had such a great attitude, especially since we had poor equipmentIf you want your business to be successful, you have to invest in ways that increase graduation ratesBetter equipment, consistent training and positive feedback will increase graduation rates and send more students to your schoolAs constructive as this feedback may be, I hopes it brings you more success! As for me, I WILL succeed in getting my CDL and enter my life in the trucking industryMy experience at the school has not slowed me down
