Your response was to ask for the same thing which we have already offered to do. Obviously, our account of the situation and yours greatly differ. We will contact the insurance company this week and your check for $should arrive in the mail sometime next week. The doctors and staff of Loeper Vision Team sincerely wish your daughters the best

(Revdex.com copied from original documentSee attached file.)The patients were seen for comprehensive eye exams and had indicated they were interested in contact lenses but had never worn them before. It is our policy for patients who are new to contacts to first have a thorough eye health and
vision exam to determine if they are a candidate for contacts. Both patients received a comprehensive eye exam. After the exam, we discussed contact lens options and fitting procedures with the patients and mother. We also discussed ways to keep the cost of contacts down with concern to the family’s budget. We recommended they be fit into monthly replacement contact lenses because they would have less out of pocket expense. They were then given a written estimate of charges including cost of the contact lens fitting and contact lens options. They did not receive any contact lens services nor were they charged for any contact lens services at this visit. The mother questioned the contact lens fitting charge and our staff explained the charge. We spend a great deal of time with our new contact lens wearers and see them back for multiple visits. Our goal for a new contact lens wearer is to develop good habits in order to have a lifetime of healthy and comfortable contact lens wear. Our contact lens fit for new wearers includes days of visits and is considered a premium fit. I do apologize that no one called the mother back immediately. She had called and indicated she would be having the contact lens fit elsewhere and a record release form was emailed to her. At this point we thought that the matter was resolved. When we did speak to the mother on the phone, it was explained to her that we charge all patients the same fees. She was never told “screw you and your family”. This phrase is not in our vocabulary. We provide patients with the highest level of care and would never use this phrase. During this conversation, the mother was asked what she would like for us to do for her and she indicated she wanted the records sent to her so she could have her daughters fit for contacts elsewhere. The records were printed out and mailed within minutes of this conversation. Again, we felt that the matter was closedIf the patient would like for her co-pays to be refunded and insurance benefits to be reinstated for the exam, we will gladly do it
