We received complaint ID# [redacted] The complainant states they were told they could have a get together in their guest room by one of our managersIt also states that our hotel staff is racist because we stopped some of their guests before they were able to get on the elevator and told them they couldn't go upstairsIt's sad that I even have to respond to such and powerful accusations about my staff, which by the way consists of about 70% African AmericansThe moral of the story Is, they threw a party (which we don't allow), they were upset we broke up their party and now they want their money backThe answer to that is "no," you do not come onto our property throw a party and then get your money backIt doesn't matter what color your skin is, black, white, orange, purple, etc we do NOT allow partiesComplainant signed a quiet hours agreement upon check in which states we do notallow more than people in a room at any timeWe didn't even call the police, other guests of the hotel did, as we didn't even know they had that many people in the room to begin with, otherwise police would have been called to the room much sooner.I have attached a copy of the registration card and quiet agreement, which were both signed by the complainant at check in.Once again, we do not allow parties no matter what color your skin is the party will be broken up and asked to leave the propertyIf you have any further questions or concerns regarding this matter please feel free to contact me directly via any of the contacts listed belowThank you for your time and help with this matter.Thank you,Evan *** General Manager The Hotel lafayette & Lofts on Pearl [redacted]

Complainant is asking for her money back, however we are not issuing a refund for breaking up a party that took place in a room in our hotel after complainant was well aware of our policy, given she signed an agreement at check in, which states we do not allow parties or more than people in the room at any time This issue had nothing to do with race and never did, all parties that we are aware of get broken up, in most cases we throw everyone out, however our team extended a one time courtesy to the complainant and allowed the guest and a few friends to remain in the room This is something we did not have to do Let me remind you, we did not call the police on the complainant, other guests staying in the hotel did and it wasn't just once, the police were called by other guests of the hotel twice to break up this party We will not be issuing any refunds for this stay

I want it to be made clear that the police were called before any complaint on me by night auditor Chad. No other parties were being thrown out except ours which in return would be made to believe there were other motives. It's not he said she said. You can look up the recordings and witness Chad calling the police without any notice and me speaking to Shawn T the front desk.

couldn't go upstairs. It's sad that I even have to respond to such false and powerful accusations about my staff, which by the way consists of about 70% African Americans. The moral of the story Is, they threw a party (which we don't allow), they were upset we broke up their party and now they want their money back. The answer to that is "no," you do not come onto our property throw a party and then get your money back. It doesn't matter what color your skin is, black, white, orange, purple, etc .... we do NOT allow parties. Complainant signed a quiet hours agreement upon check in which states we do notallow more than 6 people in a room at any time. We didn't even call the police, other guests of the hotel did, as we didn't even know they had that many people in the room to begin with, otherwise police would have been called to the room much sooner.I have attached a copy of the registration card and quiet agreement, which were both signed by the complainant at check in.Once again, we do not allow parties no matter what color your skin is the party will be broken up and asked to leave the property.
