received the enclosed complaint regarding my business Logan Circle LaundromatBelow are my responses:The customer states three washers were brokenThis is incorrectThe store manager Confirmed this customer was using three washersBut, only one did not have cold waterThe other two were
operating properly and this was stated to the customerThe Customer ignored the manager's response and continued to claim all three washers were brokenI visited the store the following day and can confirm only one of the washers the customer used did not have cold waterThe customer states she pressed "cold water" for all three washers and hot water wasdispensedThis is literally impossible due to how these machines are builtMy Store utilizes *** laundry machines, one of the highest quality manufactures in the country of commercial laundry equipmentThe reason this is impossible is because there are separate water valves for hot and cold waterMachines, at the factory, are programmed to only open one or the other (or both in the case of warm water)If the Customer pressed "cold water" the hot water valve would not openThe customer claims she pressed "cold water" on all three washers and hot water came outThat is impossible and the store manager checked as soon as she complainedOnly one of the washers did not have cold waterHowever, water still dispensed into the washerThis means she pressed "warm water"If she pressed "cold water" nothing would dispense into the drumThis is how the washers are programmedThe store manager checked the customer's laundry after the complaint and the laundry was washed and cleanThe customer continued to dry all the laundry, fold it, bagged it and took it home.This store has Security camerasAfter this incident was reported reviewed the footage and spoke with the store managerIt is my conclusion the customer did not press "cold water", instead pressed "warm water" in the attempt to scam my businessMy company operates five laundromats in Washington DC for the last yearsWe have seen every type of scam imaginableThe fact is only one washer did not have cold water and it was placed out of ServiceThe other two were fully operational without any other customers experiencing issuesThe customer is correct one washer was broke, but if "cold water" was pressed nothing would have come outThis is how the machines are manufacturedThey are built and programmed this way for exactly this reason.When a cold or hot water valve breaks no water dispenses from the valveExample: Customer *** *** is using a washer and presses "cold water"If the cold water valve is broken no water is dispensedThe machine does not know the valve is brokenThey are not programmed to open another valve (hot) to replace the cold water not being dispensedThe machine only send a message to the cold water valve to openIf the valve is broken it simply stays closedIf this happens no water dispenses into the washer drumDue to this understanding of how our machines operate (and programmed), the situation the customer is attempting to portray is technically (and literally) not possible.I can be reached at LoganLaundryDC@***.com.Henry C***
