As stated by the customer, the vehicle was towed by *** for a no startAt initial diagnostic the technician ran a code which was for a crank sensor errorAs the day went by the technician started to inspect and diagnosed vehicle, during the time I had the pleasure to receive
several calls from the customer during the day requesting updates on the car and I also had a chance to ask a few questions on more details about his vehicleAfter the diagnostic, technician recommended to replace crank sensor based on the engine code error presentCustomer was given price and he did not like quote due to it been high for his budgetGot a quote from another repair facility over the phone, which I told customer that we could not matchHe approved repairs, seconds into repairs customer decided to stop repairs and take car to another shopHe requested a diagnostic report, which was given a print out from *** (manufacture tech website) on the diagnostic steps and format for the present code on the crank sensor Next day, customer called and complaint about our diagnostic being incorrectAfter a few minute talk I agreed to refund him his money for the diagnostic, which he agreed as well and was more than happyAfter asking, for our records, to what shop the car was taken, he responded that we should not worry about itThe following day he then called again and requested further money from repairs that where done on crank sensor at other shop. At this time the refund for the diagnostic was and still is available, but could not comply with his other requests for compensationCustomer was explained that if vehicle was still at our facility we would have handle the situation different given that the vehicle would still be in our handsAlso, if other repairs were needed to fix the initial no start issue after our diagnostic and we misdiagnosed the problem, we would have not charged him any more for the repairsUnfortunately, due to the fact that vehicle was taken to another facility we can only refund him the diagnostic fee amount All facilities that are certified and accredited always ask for a further diagnostic, even if vehicle is been towed from a shop that had already diagnosed symptom -- Thank you, Nabor Romo Logan Square Auto Repair PH: 773-772-FAX: [email protected] www.logansquareauto.com
